Christmas Countdown - 2013

Good morning everyone!
It is going to be cloudy today with temperatures in the mid 40's.
My husband didn't finish putting up the molding this weekend and never got to paint. He ended up cleaning the leaves up in yard instead. I know it had to be done but I'm kind of bummed out. I think I have to face the fact that I may not be doing much decorating for Christmas this year.
I overslept this morning, the same thing happened yesterday. I thought I didn't set my alarm but there is obviously something wrong with my clock. I'm going to head to Target later to pick up a new one. Other than that it will be a typical day of chores.
And I'm excited about Cyber Monday, I definitely plan on doing some online shopping!

I really should stop walking home in temperatures of 38°C (100°F). I'm all right on the flats but on the last hill I have to stop 4 times to get my heart rate down and settle my stomach. The Christmas decorations helped to distract me a bit which was good. I walked and planned a map in my head for visiting them all when it gets dark. Now I have no ice for my drink so I'm stirring it with one of those kid's iceblocks wrapped in plastic.

I could ship you some -1c temperatures to cool you off!
We also have lots of ice outside.

Good morning everyone! Hope you all had a relaxing weekend!

I want to thank everyone once more for birthday wishes. They mean a lot to me. :]

I didn't plant any entertainment for last night but we still had a delicious chocolate birthday cake with my flatmates. We also decorated our wee Christmas tree so I will share a picture of it soon. ^^

My amazing friend came to yesterday morning with all those goodies. I've been obsessed about super healthy eating lately so she brought this amazing fruit basket. We both are also huge tea drinkers so she got me a pack of natural apple&cinnamon tea. Perfect for winter time too! Oh, and the flask. I left my favourite flask in Lithuania and I once mentioned that I should get a new one so, guess what, she got me it! ^^ I'm blessed for having such a friend.

And this is a 'Happy birthday!' note in Chinese from my flatmate. Love it! ^^

Good Morning, Friends......and Wow!
Starting our 20th day of Christmas Season 2013 already.
Like sands through the hourglass........

Just how many grains are left between now and Christmas, you might ask?
Well:
Days to Christmas Day: 23 (Three weeks from the day after tomorrow!)
Hurry! Hurry! The hourglass is almost empty!

We keep warming inch by inch as the days have been going by.
I hope that trend continues for a while.....but only up to a point.
After all, we still want to be Seasonal!
It is 41 degrees outside as I type this.

hand everyone in the house a paint brush and in one day it will all be done! I remember doing that when my kids were small, we had so much fun! Put painters cloths on the floor, got as much paint on the kids as on the wall but it is something they still talk about.
Hope you find the clock you want, I gave up on mine and just use my iphone now. Then again, my clock was from the 80's, it worked so never replaced it. It was still working when I got rid of the thing, just got tired of it. I hate when my alarm does not go off, throws off your whole day.

Ours is up now too, just not decorated yet. It is safer to let Penny play with it for awhile first! Ours is not real, allergies, so I cannot help you with keeping it fresh.

I am super excited about Cyber Monday too. That's my prime method of shopping. LOL

We always add a bit of sugar water to ours once a week. A friend of mine has even used clear sodas/pops/fizzies (whatever you may call them in your neck of the woods LOL ), like Sprite or 7-Up. Another drops an aspirin in the water at the beginning and his tree always looks amazing the whole season. He repeats that a week before Christmas.

Goodmorning Christmas Town!!

So I've been a member of this site and group for a year and a half.... and just now decided to try Tapatalk on my phone and subscribe to feeds. *slaps forehead* When I'm on my computer I'm working and overlook checking the fun stuff I enjoy. LOL

My husband landed in Newark, NJ last night around 10. He is an assembly presenter for children doing anti-bullying and encouraging kids/teens to focus on character, morals and education. For our family though it means he travels the country all school year. Home for 4 days at Thanksgiving, 2 weeks at Christmas and then we don't seem him again till mid June unless we fly out, but he's doing a good thing so surely can't complain.

I'm hoping my son and I will go get our tree tonight. We're in Florida and being from Pennsylvania, to me it should be hot-cocoa-and-roasted-chestnuts-cool while picking out your tree. I usually try to wait for a cool front for the tree, but some years we'd have to wait till January if that was a requirement. Tonight will be the lowest evening temp of the projected week.

Okay... back to work I go.

Thanks!! nMy FIL was a truck driver too, retired now, but yes very much the same thing.

We've lived in Florida my son's entire life. It's where my husband grew up too. Yep just have to put the tree up regardless of outside temps. Thank goodness for air conditoning. At least I can make it feel cold enough it could snow. Maybe if I turn off the window unit in our bedroom and turn down the AC on the central unit it'll snow in the doorway. LOL

My husband would never let me paint! He has to do everything himself. There is something wrong with him, lol. Having everyone paint does sound like fun though. I'll have to mention it to him later and see what his reaction is.
Maybe I should just use the alarm on my iphone too. I'll save myself a trip to Target and the money too!
