Christmas Countdown - 2013

Goodmorning Christmas Town!!

So I've been a member of this site and group for a year and a half.... and just now decided to try Tapatalk on my phone and subscribe to feeds. *slaps forehead* When I'm on my computer I'm working and overlook checking the fun stuff I enjoy. LOL

My husband landed in Newark, NJ last night around 10. He is an assembly presenter for children doing anti-bullying and encouraging kids/teens to focus on character, morals and education. For our family though it means he travels the country all school year. Home for 4 days at Thanksgiving, 2 weeks at Christmas and then we don't seem him again till mid June unless we fly out, but he's doing a good thing so surely can't complain.

I'm hoping my son and I will go get our tree tonight. We're in Florida and being from Pennsylvania, to me it should be hot-cocoa-and-roasted-chestnuts-cool while picking out your tree. I usually try to wait for a cool front for the tree, but some years we'd have to wait till January if that was a requirement. Tonight will be the lowest evening temp of the projected week.

Okay... back to work I go.

Good Day to all! I hope everyone is well in this great month of December! I finally finished decorating yesterday. The cat has already tried to tear down the tree. Have a great week everybody!

Good afternoon, MMC family! How are you all doing today? I am well. Just getting caught up on laundry and keeping the kids entertained.

What are you all up to? Not much going on here today. DH is working. He's working 48 hours straight, which I particularly don't like - he makes me nervous when he does that - I get worried about his sleep, but he reassures me if he does get busy, they would let him nap if he needs it. I was off yesterday and go back to work tonight. DH will be working until tomorrow morning and he will be off then for 4 days. I will be looking forward to that!

Yesterday, I took the kids to see Santa. EA did well, actually sitting on Santa's lap and getting a picture, so sorry CAH, no picture like last year! DS however, wouldn't even go near him. He screamed as soon as he saw the big guy. Later on in the day, we went with my mom and did a Santa train. The kids really enjoyed that and DS warmed up to Santa little more there, but still wouldn't get a picture with him. That evening, I just stayed the night at my parents, since I had only had 2 hours or so of sleep in 24 hours. I had about 30 minutes or so drive and I just didn't want to chance it, especially with the kids in the car.

Well, I am going to get the kids lunch and read the posts from today. I hope you're all well and having a great day! I can't believe how fast the season is going. I hope it slows down some. Talk to you guys later on! God Bless and keep smiling!

I have SO MUCH to get caught up on. My computer has been acting ugly for the past week. At least at first I thought it was my computer. Now, I think it was our email. I could not delete messages and I would be reading the emails and the screen would jump to my sign in page--a total pain, if you know what I mean. Of course we could not contact anyone because of the holidays, and now we are busy getting ready for the concrete contractor. We talked with him this morning, and Hubby is trying to do all he can to get ready for him. He "put his back out" on Wednesday and has been sitting in the chair with the heating pad ever since. Our chiropractor was out of town until today, so Hubby went in this morning to have an adjustment. The estimate was lots higher than we expected, but the guy is good, licensed, and can start right away. I am going to stay logged in to MMC and hope to post throughout the day. TTYL

Good evening to all! I hope you had a nice Monday. :] I worked on my last essay a bit and finally got my student representative training. I decided to go to the campus fitness suite after that but it was shut for some reason. Oh well, I hope to go there tomorrow.

First time I'm able to check in today! I decorated the big tree and the little tree today, and received our first Christmas card of the year. Our packages have all been mailed, but I still have some cards to write. I took today off for an extra-long Thanksgiving weekend, and it's still not long enough---I'm not ready to go back to work tomorrow. Well, I have this evening yet to indulge in Christmas! And I can listen to the new podcast on the drive in tomorrow.

Snow Thursday into Friday!!! They aren't saying totals yet on the news but on facebook they said 3 to 5 inches.

Yay!! We have been getting snow all day,but it's turned into a slushy mess. So pretty watching it fall from the sky!

Hi everyone! I've missed you all the past couple of weeks. Things have been super busy but they finally slowed down as of today. I attended my last college class ever this evening. I technically have two weeks of class left but all that I have to do is critique a peer's work this week, tidy up my paper the next week, and then I'm done!

My parents are fine with me relaxing and enjoying Christmas as I always have on college break. I don't have to start looking for a job until after the New Year! I'm not looking forward to all of the interviewing and applying!

I am going to try to do some catching up but that should be almost impossible with how much I've missed!!

Well I don't how anyone else fared today but I got most of my remaining shopping done on Amazon while attending a rather boring seminar. Cyber Monday was a big success for me.
This seminar occurs on cyber Monday every year so I think I need to make it a habit to attend because I can get some great shopping done on my iphone.

Or, in my case, watching "White Christmas" by the glow of a Christmas tree with a slice of pecan pie … just took a break to check in here and make a mug of cocoa.

I bought a very peculiar ornament this year. I saw it at Russell's and couldn't pass it up because it's so unusual. It's a molded-glass fried chicken TV dinner. I forgot about it until I was almost finished decorating the tree. Well, there it is, hanging on the front of the tree! What was I thinking!
