Well, I intended to spend the day here...but rumor has it that only 1/4 of our town still has power...and we are it.

I've got my phone all charged, but I plan on using it to listen to scanners and check the weather...so if I leave, it might be a few days...they are telling people right now to expect no power for 7 days...that's the bad news....

the good news is yesterday, Entergy spent the entire day storing equipment and items in an old factory here...there are tons and tons of trucks here last night...we are like a hub...so maybe it won't be 7 days after all...I mean, if they are using a facility here...you would think they will need power in it....oh well, just wishful thinking...

Praying for you and your town, coach!

I received a 5lb box of those little oranges, do not really care for them but cannot say no to a gift! So I am making some marmalade out of them. Only made one batch before and burned that one so I will be extra careful with this one. I really like marmalade so it will be nice to have a few jars handy.
The house is smelling really nice with that cooking on the stove. Takes 40 min of cooking to soften the peels before the jam can be made.
In between this I am cleaning and finishing the decorating, which I am way behind on!

I have been thinking about making marmalade, too, as I bought a big bag of oranges for making cranberry relish and there are still a lot left over. What is your recipe?

Everyone dealing with ice and snow and power outages---I hope you can keep warm and safe and ride out the storm.

After such a wonderful day yesterday, I woke up sick at 4 a.m. So I'm trying to stay hydrated and I'm nibbling on toast and sipping broth. Going to try to watch a movie, but may wind up taking a nap.

I hope you are better soon!

What kind or oranges? Just asking because we live on a small commerical citrus farm my ILs started in the '50s. We have so many different kinds of citrus and I've made up different recipes over the years. I love the taste of cranberry and orange mixed together so I make a marmalade with cranberry.

My mom made a cranberry relish at Thanksgiving that included figs and... okay I don't remember what the other fruit was.. LOL but it's delicious. I'm combing that with some of our oranges to make a spread and from there using some to make cranberry orange rugelach.

Marmalade with cranberries sounds delish - do you have a recipe to share?

Thank you, Meceka! How are you doing?

You're welcome, jennifer! I am doing well - getting things caught up as I am working Saturday and Sunday is my brother's birthday and I want to do something special for him.

Congratulations on finishing college!!! Does it seem real? I know that it really didn't sink in for me that I was done until I read my name on the graduation list at the bookstore where I worked. Enjoy your Christmas vacation!!! Praying you and your family will be safe during the storms!

Hey everyone is it just me or is this season racing through to fast! We have our Christmas tree festival in full swing and tomorrow morning I'm off to a woodland centre Christmas festival with reindeer and everything! Such a shame I'm working and not just there to enjoy!

It is going way too fast! I hope you get to enjoy some of the Christmas festival!!!

Hey everyone!!!! I hope all of You are happy and merry and feel christmassy!!!!!

Today Kandice and I are watching Charlie and the chocolate Factory.......the new version....love, love, love it....and Kandice loves the smallish, tiny Ooompa Loompas
so fun, I like the original one better than the new one, but all my kids like the one with Johnny Depp better.

I am glad that you are doing well! I hope that work isn't too busy for you on Saturday so that you can enjoy your brother's birthday. I hope he has a very special and wonderful day. It is so kind of you to do something special for him!

Thank you! No, it doesn't seem real at all! My entire life has been spent in school so I really can't imagine what it is going to be like from here on out. I've kept up a great GPA so I am hoping that helps me when I apply for jobs. I took a professional class that helped us build resumes and mine is finally perfect, so I am relieved about that. I've had one interview but the company was commission only so I chose not to go to the second interview. I don't think it will seem real until I receive my diploma!

I hope that you enjoy the Christmas season and that it is the merriest of all! Thank you for your prayers!!

Looks like Accuweather is predicting for the Mid-Atlantic area to get some of that ice and snow for later this weekend. I love the snow, but I don't like/ care for the ice that much...

That looks scary! Praying everyone will be safe!!!

I just finished my last assignment ever for school! It isn't due for 10 days, but I was so antsy to get it completed.

I cannot believe that I am graduating college. I am so proud of myself, especially for my grades. I have worked so hard the past four and a half years. I was so disappointed that I had to go an extra semester, but I am just happy to be done now. That is the problem with transferring - some credits won't transfer! I decided not to walk for graduation because it is only a few days before Christmas. If I would have graduated in the spring, I definitely would have walked. I just don't want to risk anyone in my family getting sick right before Christmas. I also do not want to risk anything with the weather - you never know what it is going to do here! It could be a blizzard or an ice storm for all we know.

Now I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders - except another one will be placed right on top of there in a couple of weeks. I pray that I don't have to get a job far away, especially not in the city. Traffic would be horrendous and it's not a nice drive, especially in the winter. Everyone tells me that I am crazy for going to school for marketing and management. Most of the jobs that I have been discussing with companies are for marketing and are commission based only. I definitely don't want that - I want a salary!

20 minutes ago it was sleeting and now it is snowing like crazy. My dad is still on the road and my brother hasn't even left work yet. They are making him work overtime so he won't even get to leave for another 45 minutes to an hour. He has an hour drive to get home on top of that, too! Please keep them in your prayers!

Congratulations on your graduation! You made me wonder about my own feelings when I will be graduating myself (although I'm less than in the middle of my course). It makes sense that you are proud of yourself because finishing your degree successfully really is a major achievement. :] Also, it's great that you are sure about your wants and aims. It inspires you to keep going, motivates you and helps you to stay focused on your work. I also didn't get much support on my decision to study environmental studies but I didn't listen to negative comments. It's said 'Do what makes you happy, and if it doesn't make you happy, then don't do it.' I'm absolutely sure that you will get a salary you want because all people with right and positive attitude such as yours always get what they want. Best wishes!

Good evening to everyone from Scotland! Happy Friday! I hope that you all had a good week. :] It has been the last teaching day of the semester today. Despite one more little assessment left next week and two exams to go, I have now finished my first semester of second year. Yay! I can't believe how quickly time goes (I probably have said this many times). I don't have any plans for the weekend yet. As I was working on the essay last weekend, I just want to relax this time before I start exam preparation on Monday.

Best wishes to all!
