And a hat. Don't forget the hat!

 I know what Harlowe could use for Christmas...Matching red booties to keep her paws dry and warm...:-D

You are right about food gifts, Xmas Tidings. I love buffalo and elk. My husband's aunt and uncle raise beefaloes and that is really good, too. There is another food place called Jack's Stack that is good. http://www.jackstackbbq.com/

For a man, Meat and cheese....can never go wrong with that!

I don't believe there isn't a man out there that doesn't think with his stomach; am I right all you married ladies out there????? Here's an idea, that I got for my father-in-law last year and he was all over it:

Hope this may give you an idea or 2 for you~

I hear you on the concerns about the furnace. When we got the roof off and the two walls down, we had fierce wind storms. It was blowing stuff around out back and I did not sleep at all. It was SO loud and scary. Take care and thanks for the Christmas greetings. Loved the cat and dogs on the sled!

Good afternoon, Christmas family!

It is freezing here!!! I ended up not working today as the furnace was acting up last night and I thought a repairman might have to be called in this morning. My brother checked it over, found nothing amiss so I have had it running for hours now. No scary sounds or weird smells like there was last night, so all seems good. I was a bit worried last night over it - so much so that I dreamed about tornadoes. This time not only did I see them (3) the building I was in was spinning around inside of one. Odd, that! Normally I dream tornadoes are coming or I see them way off in the distance. I think I need to do something Christmassy and soon!!!!

Be safe and MERRY!!!!

No baking for me this year, so I feel left out on that part of Christmas. I did go to a Christmas faire after the Hoop Shoot today and picked up some orange chocolate creams, maple nut creams, cranberry bark, pumpkin fudge, no-sugar oatmeal-raisin cookies, and wedding cookies. My only Christmas decoration is my Christmas tree that Made told me about that plugs into my computer. Just wait until next year, though!!!

Thank you, Victoria!

I am sure it's hard to be away from your dog. What is his/her name?

((Hugs))

xx

His name is Zloty. It's actually a Polish currency but I think it sounds cute, and I don't know any other dogs under this name.

I don't think I have ever posted a picture of my dog, have I?

This is his latest picture which I took in September, the last time I was at home. It's not the best picture but he was very cheeky at that time so... ^^

Good evening! I hope that everyone had a relaxing Saturday. :]

I received an e-mail saying that I have been offered a position to volunteer at Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games this summer!

It was announced that all the offers will be sent out by the end of November. Once December begun, I stopped expecting for my offer. However, the actual e-mail came yesterday, so I was very surprised when I found it in my inbox. And very exciting too! The competition for voluntary positions was very fierce. There were around 65,000+ applicants overall, and 25,000 of them were invited for the interview. I attended mine in late July, and now there will be 15,000 volunteers. It is gonna be a HUGE sport event! I also found out that my Scottish friend is also going to volunteer, so I am happy about that too. I am actually quite proud of myself for leaving so many other applicants behind and becoming the one of those lucky 15,000 who will contribute towards organizing such a significant event!

I am sorry for quite a long post but my excitement is now over the top. ^^

Anyway, I will try to go to sleep because it is nearly midnight here.

Best wishes to all!

What an absolute honor, Victoria!!! WOW! We are so proud to know you! Your furbaby is so cute.

We will be going to Mass pretty soon and then down to the Elks Lodge for dinner--a pit-cooked pork roast. Then it will be back home to watch TV and read. Have a great evening, everyone!

Hello friends-
Just wanted to touch base. It's been a wild ride around here since my husband's shoulder surgery. He had a severe neck spasm during the night and I ended up driving him to the emergency room at 6 this morning. He is still in a lot of pain, but heavily medicated. Soooo, I'm trying to keep the Christmas spirit alive, but it's been a bit dicey as of late. Anyway, I hope you are all having a wonderful time in your own preparations! Thinking of you all at this exciting time in our journey to Christmas!

I've been doing more reading than posting the past couple days, but I'm thinking of you all.

Packed up my last package today, got my Christmas cards ready to mail, so now it's down to making cookies and wrapping a few gifts. Oh, and thinking up a greeting for the podcast. I have a couple vacation days coming up; that's probably when I'll make the cookies.
I'm about where you are, Merry. My cookie dough is made, but my husband went down for the count with neck pain and my plans to bake all day went down the drain.
We'll make it though, won't we?

If you could have this in your reading room, that would be awesome!!!

That's what I think … but in front of the sofa is a piano, to the right is the Christmas tree and the front window, and to the left is the dining area. So it just doesn't fit in! It would be great on the wall where my piano is, but I can't give up my piano. It's been in the family since I was about 8. And my tuner says they don't make spinets anymore---smaller pianos today are all electronic. So I love my poor little old dinosaur of a spinet piano.

We'll make it! I know from experience that I can whip up a batch of chocolate chip cookies in a couple hours, and I don't need to make many. I may attempt sugar cookies again, even though I'm lousy at making rolled cookies.

I hope your husband's pain is gone soon. I know the awful feeling of having a husband in pain. Mr. used to have horrible back spasms that immobilized him before he started visiting a chiropractor regularly.

Hi friends~

Hope you are all enjoying your evening!

I am having a late dinner and relaxing a bit before heading to bed. Work all weekend. Boo...Just because I am sick, I feel that way. I need the hours.

I am thinking of you all and sending big hugs!! I wish I had time to respond more, but I need to rest.

CS, your cookies are a work of art- I know they taste delicious, too!!

Have a wonderful night, all!

xx

Please take care snowflake~ we need all our Christmas friends to be feeling 100% for the flurry of excitement still coming our way!
Thinking of you dear!

I just finished my last assignment ever for school! It isn't due for 10 days, but I was so antsy to get it completed.

I cannot believe that I am graduating college. I am so proud of myself, especially for my grades. I have worked so hard the past four and a half years. I was so disappointed that I had to go an extra semester, but I am just happy to be done now. That is the problem with transferring - some credits won't transfer! I decided not to walk for graduation because it is only a few days before Christmas. If I would have graduated in the spring, I definitely would have walked. I just don't want to risk anyone in my family getting sick right before Christmas. I also do not want to risk anything with the weather - you never know what it is going to do here! It could be a blizzard or an ice storm for all we know.

Now I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders - except another one will be placed right on top of there in a couple of weeks. I pray that I don't have to get a job far away, especially not in the city. Traffic would be horrendous and it's not a nice drive, especially in the winter. Everyone tells me that I am crazy for going to school for marketing and management. Most of the jobs that I have been discussing with companies are for marketing and are commission based only. I definitely don't want that - I want a salary!

Congratulations!!!!!

So cute!!!

get him a rubber chicken that ought to surprise him!

LOL! Maybe that can be his stocking stuffer!

Thank you, Jennifer!

I am still feeling lousy, and worried that I may have strep. I have been scheduled to work ever since I got sick, so if I still feel bad on Monday I will go to the doctor for a throat culture.

Thanks for thinking of me! Enjoy your weekend!!

You are very welcome! You are still in my prayers and I hope that you don't have strep. Definitely go to the doctor before you feel worse!
