Well today I decorated, got the lights that I needed for the house, finished all my Christmas shopping, wrote 3 blogs, did four loads of laundry, and watched a movie with my son after we had dinner together. It was good day! :-)

I just want to say how much I appreciate this message board and being able to share the Christmas season with other people who are like-minded and love celebrating everything about Christmas.

Then you should love this picture! Last year my husband was doing part of his tour from Chicago, through Ohio, into Pennsylvania , and then New York. I was with him. We were in a little town called Conneaut, Ohio it's right on the water of Lake Erie. That year the freeze was so bad that something occurred in the lake effect that no one in the town who at ever seen. The water and the waves formed dunes of ice so instead of looking like a regular beach in the winter it looked like glaciers. I think it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

That is amazing! thanks for posting! so some of the lakes do freeze at least the parts at the shoreline where the water is more shallow...I wonder how far offshore the ice is...I have this website I have saved to my favorites and I check it everyday year around...what it does is monitor the ice and snowcover all over the world. Last year was the first year I monitored it and one of the lakes(the one above ohio) was shaded yellow(meaning ice covered) a few days in mid Jan. By feb it was back to just blue meaning it was melted.Of course the last few years our winters have been mostly mild... That is probably the shallowest lake of the great lakes because it was the only one indicated that it was frozen over. Now the Hudson Bay in Canada is almost completely frozen over now it started icing up in early Nov. but that is so far up north I just can't imagine that kind of cold. thanks again for the pics those are so cool!

In reference to my above post..ice and snow and the weather have always interested me...My beloved grandmother(my dads mom) the one that I was referring to in the post a few pages back, the one that was like my 2nd mother....she was born in 1912 and she was raised on a very large horse farm in extreme western Kentucky looking on the map it was almost on the Indiana state line. Anyhow she moved to south Georgia after she graduated college and started teaching 2nd grade. Anyways my dad decided to stay in Ga where he was raised so that is why I never had a lot of winter weather to speak of. I can remember my Granny telling me as a little girl she could remember the small ponds they had on the farm freezing over and all the kids in town would come over to ice skate in the winters. Now that was in the 1920 I guess! Well those ponds I am sure never freeze over anymore I would venture to guess...I don't know if you wanna call it global warming but the weather patterns are changing no doubt about it..I just find it so neat about things like that. I am sure in the northern states the ponds do freeze up but Kentucky? Sorry for rambling on and on about nerdy stuff:)

Well I better get up and get ready for work. I have to go fetch Brandi and kids at the airport after work and I am so glad they are returning! My in laws are coming here on the 28th through Jan 2. So maybe Brandi won't be all upset and sad when she gets back here because that is just around the corner. It is 6F with highs suppose to get about 28F with a few light snow showers this afternoon! Have a great early morning everyone! and TGIF! oh and it's the 13th too! Ick!

One week till Lovemas !!!!!! Oooooo mmmmm,m gggggggg!!!!!! Yabba Yabba Yabba Yabba!!!!!

Bought more lights...when one is a part of the Love world,,, you must illuminate as much as possible ..... Yabba!!!

This time of the year makes me think of my grandma - I miss her so much! I can remember her standing in the kitchen and humming Christmas carols. She would cook and bake endlessly around the holidays and she loved every minute of it. She used to literally beam when I opened my presents from her. She was like a second mom, really. She really had so many medical issues after a messed up surgery and never felt good. Still, she managed to make Christmas so special and it never showed. I think I get my love for Christmas from her. It was passed down to my mom and myself. I just watched a Christmas movie that was one of her favorites and now I can't seem to get her off of my mind!

I hope you all are having a good evening. Thanks again for your prayers for my mom! She's still not better which has us concerned that it's something potentially serious. If it were a virus the fever should be dwindling by now. On top of that, she hasn't had an appetite for a couple of weeks. Guess we'll know more next week when the doctor gets in. Good night! Sleep well and sweet dreams!

Sending big hugs your way Jennifer and continued prayers for you mom!

***** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 31 *****

Good Morning, Everybody.

Hey! It's Weekend Eve again -- so soon!
And do you realize there is only ONE more Weekend Eve between us and Christmas Day!
(Now if THAT doesn't get you crackin' on those holiday plans, nothing will!)

The count:
Days to Christmas Day: 12 (And just look how close we are to -- dare I say it?? -- SINGLE DIGITS!!)
Good Golly!

Chilly yesterday but with lot of sunshine and no precipitation of any kind.
A repeat for today.
Then a cold rain for tomorrow. Oh well, so be it.
Right now we are at a cold 26 degrees here in central NC.

You be sure and have a Fabulous Friday today, OK?

Thanks for posting this... you seem to have taken the words right out of my mouth...The older I get the more Christmas becomes more nostalgic than anything else. I mean for me at Christmas although I love my family I can't help but think what would my passed loved ones be doing right now if they were here. Like you my grandma was like a second mother to me...she died in 2003 but here lately I have been having dreams about her and I am always telling her how much I love her and I am introducing her to my wife and kids and telling her her advice did not fall on deaf ears and that she was right about so many things. I was young and you could not tell me anything back in my 20's...but the older I get the more I see my grandma was right about so many things and she just had my best interest at heart. Sorry for rambing on this post just really stirred something in me that I have been dealing with for a while now! I am glad I am not alone in this feeling...Christmas is so great and always will be but the more loved ones have passed the more you have to be stronger this time of year!!!

Thinking of you and sending hugs~

I have a full day again today, 3 cakes to do, work for 5 hours (the kind I get paid for that is) clean 2 inches of snow off the van, take daughter shopping, pick up other daughter after work, make stuff for tomorrows potluck, finish cookie plates to hand out to family, and talk to my friends

So, hope you all have a great day!

And It's 28f outside!
We had a storm here yesterday.
And we don't know when the power is up again

Well hope YOU have a much better day! ❤
