Good morning!
Prayers for Maggie please, I'm taking her to the vet again this morning. Her cough is flaring up. My husband is going to kill me, we just had a $400 bill last week for bringing Molly to the ER for an ear infection. When it rains it pours.
Anyway, I have a few errands to run afterwards and then back home for daily chores. The girls are all working today, the outlets have been a madhouse. If they want me to drive them in I will, the parking has been terrible.
I will see you later!
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Keeping Maggie in my prayers.

Thanks, most of the standing water over the roads and that has gone down but all of the fields and anywhere close to a creek or river is still really flooded. They had to evacuate a lot of new homes this morning because of the river rising.

Praying these people can get back in their homes soon!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a cold day here with a high near 30 degree's and some strong winds. Not a lot on the agenda for me today. I want to do some cooking to get ready for Christmas and listen to Kringle radio. It looks like I have to go to Target with my sister and niece's too though. So that is going to be crazy!!! I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!

Have a wonderful day friend. God Bless you for braving the stores!!!

Good morning, everyone!!! How are you all doing this morning? I am doing well. Just watching a Christmas movie and enjoying a cup of coffee.

What is everyone's plans for the day? I plan on making a few more dozen of iced sugar cookies (this seems to be the kids favorite this year), a batch of PB fudge, and just try to make sure everything is ready here for the next few days as far as presents go. Later on this afternoon, we're going to pick the kids up early at school and take them ice skating. They've never been before, so it ought to be interesting, but it will be fun too!

I see some of you have been listening to the radio shows today. I plan on turning it on here a little later when I back. I can't wait to hear all the great music and appreciate all the hard work everyone put in to the shows.

I will check back in here later. Hope you all have a great day! God Bless and keep smiling! :transform:

Have fun today, Friend!!!! Good luck with the ice skating!!!!

MerryCarey, thanks for playing "Merry Christmas, Darling." One of my all time favorites!

My kids are so excited! I overheard a conversation between them about how many times throughout the year one can be naughty and still have Santa deliver presents. For whatever reason, my son determined 300 is probably the cutoff.

My daughter is listening to Kringle Radio with me, asking if there's any news on Santa. She's very excited for him to take flight.

If anyone wants to see the song lists for my 2 radio shows today, they are in my blog. I'll post the ones for tomorrow later tonight.

Yes I am!!! Jeff kicks us off at 6am then I get hour 2.

Aha, so that was you, made! I heard the last quarter hour of Hour 2, but I missed hearing you I.D. yourself. Good stuff! Looking forward to more of it!

Great intro to your hour Coach!!!!!!!

this is in my area : I have power here, but many do not...

it is such a mess here in Ontario, so sad that many will be without power over Christmas.

It has frozen so ice is not coming off the trees and now the wind is picking up so all those frozen branches are breaking.

you can watch the news here : http://www.bttoronto.ca/

It's so awful to know that the weather will be spoiling some families' Christmas. Fingers crossed that your power will stay on. Continuing to think of you.

Made...it's too early in the morning to already be hearing that dang hippo song!!!!! :)

Which version? Gayla Peavy, or the Three Stooges? cheesy

This year he asked me for oatmeal cookies made like Little Debbie oatmeal rounds, but with my peanut butter frosting in the middle. LOL "Pleeeease Aunt Heather??? Everyone ELSE gets to request a custom birthday cake or pie from you... can't I?? UGH... now what am I supposed to say to that? How many cookies Justin?
I'll have to whip those up tomorrow I suppose. LOL. Last night Noah asks me, "Mom... not to insult your Christmas cookie lineup, but umm... is there anyway your chocolate chip cookies could make an appearance, but with peanut M&Ms instead of chocolate chips?"

Sounds like a mouthful of a cookie to me, but sure why not.

Sounds like peanuts are VERY popular around there!

I had a little backstory on that that was cut from the broadcast. The song was actually written around 1946, not long after the end of WWII. It's really about someone who's significant other is overseas fighting the war at Christmastime. The guy who wrote it had some connection with the Carpenters later. Richard Carpenter tweaked it some, and they recorded the song in about 1970 (not certain of my dates). The wartime connection adds poignancy to it, rather like "I'll Be Home for Christmas."

Great intro to your hour Coach!!!!!!!

Thanks, bro!

I am having a blast listening to this. It's so cool. This is something I surely hope will continue for years. My daughter will love listening to this and the Santa updates! It's just so awesome!

Last night was Scrooge Night at the Movies in our house. We watched "The Stingiest Man in Town" while the basement warmed up, then went down and watched "Scrooge" (1935) with Seymour Hicks on 16mm.

It's a shame that DVDs of the 1935 "Scrooge" are so poor---edited down to an hour, and dark and muddy, like chalk and charcoal. The 16mm print we watched was struck a few months after the film was released---the lighting and camera work are subtle and atmospheric, the images clear and sharp. I wish everyone could have the chance to see that film as it originally was. If there's ever an MMC convention, we're bringing that print and a projector with us!

That would be great! I second the idea for a convention and you bringing some films to show!

Ohhhhhh, I wish I could see that, one day in it's original form! I would take watching that one to heart; love that movie and I also love A Christmas carol (1938) with Reginald Owen as well~ I also love the Patrick Stewart version also...

A quick hello to everyone, preparation are just about complete for me. Just relaxing and soaking it all in. Reading through some of the pages and many folk seem to be struggling with some awful weather. I hope things improve for you all soon.
