You know the drill....we are running here, there, cooking, picking up, eating, driving here, and then driving there....

Off to SIL...be back tonight....when i will either crash or type you an essay on how my day went. Another perfect Christmas!

potatoes peeled and cooking, cauilfower cut up and ready to cook, pie in oven

Tragic event here. Something happened when I baked my pecan pie...let's just say it appears to have exploded in the over....

Yes, you read that right.

No, I have no stinking clue what happened. However, I do know this will take a few hours to clean.

Good Christmas morning everyone!

The day has arrived. We have counted down all year and it is here. How surreal. My mom woke me up at 8:15 and wanted to begin opening presents. I wanted to sleep a little more. I understand though... there is lots to do today! In a mere few minutes, my mom and I will be going to see my Grandmother, who is in the retirement home, to wish her a Merry Christmas.

I still have to go to my dad's house for a few gifts and everything. I'm looking forward to that. He always surprises me with great things. I think I will drive there after I return from visiting my grandmother. A little busy, but it is CHRISTMAS!!! Wow.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful morning. I hope you all cherished the moments of waking up and gathering around the tree with your families. Despite being 28 and not having and children or anything like that, I still love waking up and spending the moment with my mom. I'm sure you are the same way with your families!

The day is here. Merry Christmas to you all! Thank you for being the best friends on the internet!

I think I might be like your mum waiting excitedly for you to wake up. Many cheers for Christmas!!

Age makes no difference nor does single, married, kids or no kids. Honestly I think some of my favorite Christmas memories were from ages16 to 25 before I was married. I had a job and was able to do more in the way of being able to build or get something wonderful for my parents who always gave so much. I also felt I was contributing more towards the holiday with them. I can assure you my father would never have allowed his 10 yr old daughter on the roof with the lights, but the 22 year old, have at it. LOL

Now married with a son and I barely have time to get my own lights up outside let alone go over to their house and help. LOL

For us today, we too are watching Ralphie. We were going to go to my parents this afternoon/evening, but mom called and it would be better for her if we do it tomorrow. Gosh darn it... you mean I have to have ANOTHER day of Christmas newness to do... *kicks empty gift box*. MAN - I hate when that happens! ROFL

Also means I have another 24 hours to tackle that carving for her. I did engraved glasses just in case the carving didn't work out, but now I can try again, undetered by other preparations. :-) I am too excited!

I keep thinking about Jennifer91, I'm sure they're having a wonderful Christmas week, but would love to see her pop in to say her mom is okay.

Hope all your loved ones are healthy and doing well, both human and furry alike. ;-)

I deeply appreciate you all and pray you have a beautiful, peaceful Christmas day and season!

Give everyone a spoon and eat it hot from the oven:):)

Boxing day for me here. Fried slices of glazed ham eggs and fresh tomato and parsley, fresh ground maple coffee... my appetite is coming back now I'm more relaxed. In the past years tv has been slack on the chrissy movies but yesterday there were quite a few even late at night. I think it's because free tv is fighting a losing battle with the paid tv subscriptions like foxtel. I watched my new dvd of Saving Santa before I went to bed and I'm thinking about digging out some old vhs copies... there's something about copies made from tv for the kids years ago with the old ads that's nostalgic

Merry Christmas, Christmas Family!

Snow is falling softly, Palmer is curled up on my feet, snoozing the day away - so peaceful! It has been a far different Christmas than I have ever had before - no family coming over, no big dinner and no gifts. Yet, it has been one of the best ever!!!

May your day be even better than mine!!!

It sounds wonderful!!! A perfect gift for yourself after the hectic buildup.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!!! I've been going non stop since about 7am. Just now finally getting ready to sit down and relax. I hope Santa was good to everyone and that you have all had a magical day!!! If I don't pass out from exhaustion, I'll be back later to catch up!!

Oh my gosh I so agree about the nostalgia of old ads. Going back to a post left weeks ago regarding VCRs and first getting one, we got one for Christmas in 1985. In 1986 I recorded every Christmas special I could find. I still have that tape and pull it out once a year. It's somewhat warped and the quality is sub par to my DVDs and HD digital from Amazon Prime, and Google play, but those ads that were recorded cannot be beat.

The Hershey Kisses ringing We Wish You a Merry Christmas
The old Maxwell House commercial of the young man who surprises his family coming home on Christmas morning with his little sister bounding down the garland wrapped banister stairs - to this day it's why Maxwell House is still my favorite brand of regular grocery store type coffee. LOL

Those are my two faves.

I so agree!! I even have copies of carols by candlelight. I love them! I have a converter and should copy them over before the tapes disintegrate or my vhs player gives up the ghost.

Good evening,

Christmas Day is slowly winding down here. Ralphie is off the TV, but we have popped in a Christmassy DVD. The boys had a great Christmas, our family had a great time the last couple of days. I made a prime rib, my MIL made a turkey we had a great feast tonight. Every year Christmas seems to get better and better, it is sad to see this glorious day coming to an end.

The boys are finally in bed, we won't be long behind them.

I hope you all had a great Christmas, I look forward to celebrating it everyday with all of you.

Merry Christmas to all, and all a good night!

I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas with your families!

I am not allowing myself to feel the Christmas blues this year. I am going to treat the rest of the week and next week as a holiday. I'll continue watching Christmas movies, snacking on cookies, and listening to carols. I hate how September-December leads up to Christmas and then on December 26 everyone just quits celebrating and all of the excitement ends. Last year about this time I was really depressed, but I have a whole new attitude this time around.

I spent the day with family, we actually turned out to have company. We watched A Christmas Story on and off all day long. I made sure to catch the last 15 minutes or so before it went off at 8 PM. I look forward to the marathon every year! Santa was very good to me and I love everything that I received. I only have to take one gift back because it is too big. I think I am going to wait a few days to return it because the mall will be a zoo!

Hope you all have a great evening! Don't let yourself get down in the dumps! This is why we're members of MMC, so we can celebrate and share the excitement together year round!
