Christmas Countdown - 2013

Well, here we are already, Christmas Day +1. I had to go to work today, I got here, and it's only me and this other guy here, out of 27 people, (I'm trying to save my vacation time). I have to take off tomorrow because, that's the day where we settle on our new home and we officially start moving in tomorrow afternoon....

I had a really nice Christmas Day (I hope you all did as well) under the circumstances of packing yesterday and Lisa having to work on Christmas Day. I got up early on Christmas morning and made fire in the fireplace, made this big breakfast for me and the kids and turned "A Christmas Story" on TV. I finished all the laundry in the house, packed up some more things, disassembled the computer and printer to get ready moving. We sort of stretched out the morning by making a Gingerbread house. I let the kids open their stockings and then we got dressed and headed over to Lisa's parents house, where I met up with Lisa, her grandfather and my sons girlfriend. We opened up gifts there in the afternoon. We had this huge dinner, followed up by desserts and coffee and we just hung out there until late last night.

I awoke this morning to a really beautiful snow event coming down, we got some lake effect snow squalls that came all the way down here from the great lakes....It was really coming down for about an half hour or so. It was enough to give everything a nice light coating of snow. It won't last long though, It's supposed to get up to 41 degrees today, but it was pretty~

Good Thursday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

No post-Christmas blues here, either! Only 9 months to go till the 'Bers start, 11 months to go till the season, and 364 days to go till the big day! I'm counting on Crown to lead the way.

We had a great Christmas, and I finally got the Superman movie. I just made the girls watch it with me & Jacob. They agreed it was pretty good, but said there were too many explosions. Huh?!? There can never be too many explosions! And the score was tremendous! That music makes me want to go out & save the world, too!

I took the remainder of the week off from work. unlike Xmastidings, I've accrued all of the vacation hours I can bank, so I have to use some time, or it won't accrue any more. We're going back to my mom's for supper tonight, then I think we're going to see Frozen tomorrow.

I did good today. Target had half off of Christmas merchandise, I stocked up on a few things. Hallmark had 40% off, I picked up beautiful Thomas Kinkade cards and a couple of ornaments for myself, including this one. It made me think about you!

How was your day?

Work was busy, as expected. Lots of returns and we are in initials so everything has to be checked for markdowns as well. Thank God they put another manager with me, we needed all the help we could get.

I just sat down to relax- watching a concert that I recorded off of PBS called Christmas At Belmont. It's so beautiful! Trying my darnedest not to be sad, but can't help it. So grateful that I have you all to countdown with everyday

Well I've read through all of the posts from today but just don't have the energy to respond. My eye's just won't stay open anymore. So as much as I don't want this day to end, I'm going to have to say goodnight!!!! Planning for Christmas 2014 starts tomorrow!!!!

I made sure I fell asleep before midnight last night so I didn't have to see Christmas Day end. I couldn't bear to see it end.

And so the after Christmas blues start......

I shouldn't have the blues yet, but it always makes me a little sad, coming home from our last Christmas outing on Christmas day....even though I am off work until Jan 3rd & even though we have Christmas parties Friday, Saturday & Sunday this week & even though I have a ton of Christmas movies on dvr & they are still showing them on Hallmark....it's just not the same after the 25th! I sound like such a whiner! I'm really looking forward to the next week & I will enjoy it to the max...just wish I could shake this sad feeling. It started to dawn on me tonight that my bro/sil have already been home 4 nights & we only have 2 nights left with them. How can time go so fast??? Ahhhhh....

I really don't mean to be a downer. I was so happy to see that soon the countdown to 2014 will begin! Awesome, awesome, awesome!

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve at my parents. Such a fun fun day/night! Today my parents, bro/sil, & my mil/fil came over for brunch. It was very nice. They all left, then I picked up my bro & we went to my sisters house to make a little merry, then I met my hubby at our friends house, then off to my other bro/sil's house for their Christmas open house, then we stopped at another friends open house. What a great couple of days.

I am watching Snow Bride & will be heading to bed soon. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day!!!

We went for a little drive by the river a little bit ago after dropping daughter off at work

Found a group clearing the ice for a hockey game

Very beautiful!!!!

I miss playing hockey on the ponds, as soon as I would get home from school I would grab my skates and stick and walk to the pond and play until after dark. I miss that so much.

Merry Christmas!!!!!! day 2,

I am avoiding the PCB's as much as I can, I have my lights and trees lit up, listened to Christmas music all day, (I think we have listened to well over 30 hours of Christmas music over the last 3 days) and we are watching Christmas Vacation on ABCFamily now. ( I am so glad they didn't stop playing them as soon as the 25th was over, like they usually do)

We went to the mall to see what kind of bargains we could find, my wife found good stuff at Old Navy for her and the boys. Macy's had some great Christmas clearance, lots of Santas, and a silver plated sleigh bell I REALLY liked, but I was too cheap to buy some. cheesy
We ran to KMart and I found a cool pair of Christmas pajama pants(Animal from the Muppets) and a cool collectible Santa paid a total of $16.
I have to work to run an inventory tomorrow, so it is equal to a speed bump in the middle of my vacation. I really don't want to go, since I am in vacation mode.

I may pop in and out a few more times tonight.

Having our 2nd Christmas at my mom and dad's now. This is the little tree that we bought for them. My mom found a way to make it look like something grand as always. LOL
