Good morning!!!!

It's nice to see everyone had a nice Christmas, sorry for those who were sick during the holidays. It was a great Christmas and the season is still going strong. No P.C.B's here. It helps that Star 102.5 fm Buffalo is still mixing in Christmas music up to New Years Day. Also, SiriusXm is still playing it. It's nice that they just don't switch over. We are thinking about taking the decorations down next weekend, since we are still enjoying the season.

Merry Christmas everyone, try and stretch out the season as much as you can.

Too cool!! What kind of scarf and afghan? Stitch and yarn type? I'm a total novice at it, but love it! I like making scarves - I probably own more cowls and scarves than any one else in Florida just because of it. LOL. And amigurami little plushy types. I did a bunch of pumpkins and ghosts at Halloween.

The afghan is made up of crocheted hexagons that are attached as you go along - I used Windsor blue as the main color with six accent colors. The scarf is all knit stitch. The next one I make will be all purl. I want to get both stitches down so that I can venture into making something other than scarves. I really like them, too! cheesy
I bet the scarves you make are awesome!

I don't even shut my outdoor lights off until January 8 at the earliest, the day after my birthday. I do that because when I was a kid, I use to beg my parents to keep the tree up until my birthday, which rarely happened. So I now keep everything up and/or on until Jan. 8 as a way to keep the Christmas joy going past my birthday. cheesy

Amen!

How would St. Valentine feel if he knew his day is represented by a short guy, wearing a diaper, that shoots an arrow into your butt? cheesy

ROFL I totally agree!

Good evening/morning,

I am officially on vacation!!!! Woohoo!!!! We won't be going anywhere, but this is my vacation I use to have lots of family time.
It was so depressing going into the store today, seeing all the signs of Christmas had been wiped away like it never happened, no Christmas music, trees, etc... We are still in the season!!!!

Work of course moved waaaaay to slow because of the anticipation, but I am done.

We will be going to visit my grandparents tomorrow, my grandmother is doing very well after her arm amputation.

I should go to bed now, I am yawning something fierce.

Here is a picture of my newest Santa I got for Christmas from my wife, LC's large nutcracker is in the picture:

I love the Santa!!!

Good night, everyone!!!

I'm so glad your grandmother is doing good - I will keep her in my prayers. Enjoy your vacation!!!

Good morning!
Well this is the third day in a row that my husband had to go in to work, so much for his "vacation".
Nothing exciting going on here. My youngest is working this morning and the other two have off today. The girls were talking about going to the mall this afternoon, they have a few gift cards from Christmas that they want to use. I'm not sure if I will go with them. I'm kind of tired of shopping, I need a break from the malls. I have a few errands to run and then I will spend some more time cleaning the house. I'm thinking about visiting my parents later afternoon too. Then back home to make tacos for dinner.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!

Sounds like me as a kid. Not the part of keeping decorations up for a long time but I was the one in the family that was so eager to get the decorations out that I did it by myself every year starting at age 10. The family would have helped but I enjoyed it so much that I didn't mind. I even started buying decorations from my own money at that age and still have those decorations. Christmas Crazy for sure!

LOL I did the same thing! When I was a kid we had an artificial tree every year till I was 12. I asked if I could put the 6.5' artificial one in my room. My dad said, "If you can get it down and in your room, go for it!" Two hours later, much to his surprise it was assembled and standing tall in front of one of my windows.

I put it up every year till I left for college. When I had my own apartment that same tree went with me. By the time it finished it's ability to still stand erect and stable the poor thing was tattered, but I still loved it.

Good Saturday morning, my Christmas friends!

We didn't make it to the movies yesterday. My kids never even changed out of their pajamas! I guess we all needed a relaxing day. Hopefully, though, we'll get out of the house for that movie and dinner this afternoon. My mom is coming with us, and we're meeting my cousin and her family, too.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Hope your family has a great day!!

Good morning, MMC!

It is going to be a warm day here with highs in the upper 30s. The ice has melted off of the trees and the power lines and every now and then I hear a big chunk of what was on the roof slide down. Poor Palmer is hiding. She was still active last night but I was so tired I slept fairly good. Beans are simmering on the stove and I am in the process of chopping onions, peppers and garlic for baked beans. Paperwork for the store needs to be finished. Other than all of that, I will be puttering around the house since I need to keep tabs on the roof with the ice/slush slides.

Be MERRY and safe!!!

enjoy your time off!
The decorations are still up where I work!

That sounds lovely Meceka! Like I said I'm a novice. I sit and watch youtube videos on how to do certain stitches, practice along, get it in my head, and then completely forget to use it the next time I start something. I still love the simplicity of a straight knit and garter stitch. Though I do have a scarf I made with ribbon yarn that sees alot of use here in FL. LOL

I do love tatting lace though! I started that when I was 19. I had a bad car accident that left me with only the use of my finger tips on my left hand for quite a while. Bored and healing I started learning and finding ways to paint and do crafts one handed or with limited use of both. I'm left handed so I had to learn to write, draw and paint with my right.

Tatting with shuttles was easy because the thread just had to wrap around the fingers of my left and my right could do all the work. My mom still has a boxful of tatted Christmas ornaments from simple snowflakes to complex starched and formed sleighs and bells. LOL. I still love it and prefer shuttles but now know how to do it with crochet hooks too.
