I've only been on jury duty once. Since I was a kid, my uncle has been the sheriff in this county and my mom was the Clerk of the Superior Court, so I was always passed over. LOL

It looks like it will be a significant storm at this point, the preliminary forecast for my area is calling for 4-8 inches on Friday, they haven't even said what Thursday's accumulation looks like, which makes no sense to me. It also looks like Snowflake is sending her frigid temps our way too, -7 for Friday night. Brrrrrrrrrrrr!

Well it's New Years Eve here already. What are peoples plans for the evening? I'll be spending it at home with the fiance and bubs in front of the box with a few drinks. Listen to some music and watch the fireworks.

AccuWeather is saying 3 to 6 inches of snow around here, but the Boston.com forecaster is saying he's confident there will be more than 6 inches---he's been pretty accurate so far this winter. Depending on the timing, the first workday of the New Year may be a work-from-home day. We're expecting -3F on Friday night.

I'm packing away today. Just a superstitious thing I need to do before new year.

I always feel like I have to end the year with Christmas decorations up, and start with the New Year with them. It helps me with the slight depression that comes with the Christmas season being over for the rest of the world on January 1.

Well it's New Years Eve here already. What are peoples plans for the evening? I'll be spending it at home with the fiance and bubs in front of the box with a few drinks. Listen to some music and watch the fireworks.

I'll be working at 11p New Years Eve, so I won't be home with my family, but I'm hoping I will be able to call my husband and wish him a Happy New Years and maybe even be able to watch the ball drop on the TV, while on the phone with him. Enjoy the time with your family.

Hi everyone! I'm all caught back up here again and it feels great! I had a relaxing day, but will be heading to bed shortly, as I work tonight, so I will be taking a quick nap before work here.

What is everyone up to tonight? I hope you're all enjoying the evening, whatever you're doing!

Well, I am off. I will talk to you all sometime tomorrow. It will soon be New Years Eve here on the East Coast. It's hard to believe, but I can't wait until 2014!

You're welcome and thank you. I am used to it though. I work every other holiday and DH works every 4 days, so he may work every holiday, depending on the way his 4 days fall, so we're used to it. It comes with the part of the job and serving the public.

I place the cat food out in front of the patio during the winter so I can keep tabs on if the cats need any more and who is eating. Today I saw chickadees, blue jays, a couple of birds I do not recognize and a huge opossum munching away at the leftovers. There is seed in the bird feeder but the birds prefer Cat Chow. I was wondering why the food was going down so fast. cheesy

I am starting to feel the cold - time to curl up and read or work on the afghan or scarf.
