Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good morning, MMC!

Most of the rain stayed south of where I live, but the two times it did rain, it rained hard! The creek is flowing quite fast and there is water in the basement, but not enough to pump out as of this time. I've been checking every half hour and the water level hasn't risen by too much so it is looking good down there! It is very windy out and I'm sure there will be quite a mess of branches to clean up when all is said and done, but as long as the fur kids are safe and the electricity stays on, all will be good!

Any surgery has risk, but I've had three heart catheterizations in the last year and half, and I had no problems associated. He'll be on blood thinners for quite a while, and it's aggravating to bruise easily or bleed a lot from a scratch...but it beats the alternative.

Edited to add: Ooops, I see that he's already had the cath, and now needs surgery for more than a stent can help with. I'm sorry I misunderstood!

Thanks Brad. Yes, he had open heart surgery almost 20 years ago after a heart attack, so he knows what this is all about. BUT hopefully with all the new technology over the last 20 years, this one will be a little "easier" on him. xx

Glad it wasn't to bad and I hope the water in the basement doesn't get any worse!!!! Hope the wind dies down soon too!!!
 
I meant to tell you all that all those storms that were suppose to hit yesterday never happened. The sun came out some as well. We are safe! =)

My grandkids will be away Easter weekend so my granddaughter and I just boiled and colored Easter Eggs so we can have an early celebration. After I boiled them to get ready to color my granddaughter said to me, "Wow, good job grandma, you did a great job cooking the eggs"!!!! I told her thank you then she said, "Thank you, grandma, you're the best grandma ever"!!! I feel quite flattered that boiling eggs can make a child so happy! :lol: She is such a sweetie and is always appreciative of every little thing in life. My grandsons are the exact same way!

I find it amazing how thankful my grandchildren are. My aunt will send over a little bit of candy for them and they cannot get to the phone fast enough to call and thank her, or anyone else that does something nice. It's always their idea to thank others, we never have to remind them! I love it!
