Christmas Countdown - 2014

Oh boy it's getting late, but, I have to keep myself up tonight so as to help me switch around my internal sleeping clock. Starting tomorrow night, I have to drive to Virginia, to start working on another engineering project. The hours though, are going to really stink, it's the overnight shift....I have to be in Virginia by 1:00am and work to 8am, up and down a ladder all night long, then drive back home; Yuck.....

I'm sitting here watching the hockey movie "Miracle", (great movie, especially, if you like Ice hockey and the Olympics). Well, I hope you have all had a nice day so I will wish you all a good night!!!!:merry:

I hope you are able to adjust to working the overnight shift.

Good morning, everyone. How are you all doing? I'm well. Just getting this ready for DS's birthday party. He's excited, as he should be! I'm excited for him. I can't believe he will be three in just two short days.

What is everyone's plans for today? The party doesn't start until 2:00, so I will just turn Hallmark on and cook away! The kids will probably either play inside with me or play outside - we have a lot set up - the swimming pool, bounce house, swing set, sand box, and other activities to keep them busy. They're excited!

Good morning!
My "baby" graduates high school today. How did my baby girl grow up into an 18 year old about to go off to college? It feels like it was just yesterday that I put you on the bus to kindergarten. I followed the bus and hid so you didn't see me, so I knew that you made it there safely. To all of you with kids, especially small ones...this goes fast, enjoy it! I love the young women my girls have grown up to be, I just miss the days that got them there.
I can already hear Pomp & Circumstance in my head, hope I can keep it together!

Happy monday morning mmc!!! Just had to come share my good news with you all, its not big news really but it is to me!

Ive got a new job!! I currently work part time 3pm-6.30pm, I go out to work as my partner comes in from work! but my youngest daughter starts full time school in september so I applied for a school cook position and got the job!! Its perfect for us! 8.30am-2pm! term time only, so no childcare to think about and its a raise in pay!! Ill be working less weeks in the year but earning more! also a bit of responsibility as Ill be in charge of the small team of assistants!

Also seeing the countdown say 177 days to christmas made me smile even more!!!

Hope this finds everyone well! Im going to go have a good read round the forums!!

She is doing ok. Still in a lot of pain, and rather frustrated that she's not getting relief quicker. They found more arthritis than expected, too. Religiously doing her PT & exercises, and hoping for the best!

Good morning Mmc!! This is my very 1st post using tapatalk!! Hubby & I are on vaca this week! Awesome! The festival was lots of fun this weekend! Big crowds again! Tired this morning! I'm sitting in my recliner watching the hallmark channel & seeing all the ads for the upcoming Christmas in July movies is making me really excited!

Dad came home from the hospital friday & he's doing well! xx I will go see him later on!

Our contractors are supposed to start on our addition this week but no sign of them so far!

Hey y'all! Happy 4th of July! We are going to sis-in-law's house for a big family gathering (about 60 people). Going to be a lot of fun. I love going to these big family cookouts because of the family atmosphere and I usually win money playing horseshoes. Gonna be a good day.

I can't begin to say how excited I was to see the Christmas Card Exchange posted. Just another sign that things are about to start coming at us! I was in Sam's yesterday and saw the some stuff out (ribbon, etc). However, in the next few days or so we will make our first trip to Hobby Lobby since about the middle of December last year to see what's out! I can hardly wait!

Bambina's doctor appointment went well...growing like a weed.

Hey! We had a nice Fourth!
The weather cooperated with no rain and lower temps and humidity.
Didn't get out to any fireworks around here but watched the TV programs.

"A Capital Fourth" was better than usual I felt, although there were still too may songs that had nothing to do with Independence Day.
(But then, I'm a purist.)
Well, we are off to the coast to confirm (hopefully) that there has been no damage to speak of at our cottage.

Good morning, everyone! Happy 4th to you all (even though it's a day late!) Hope you all had a great holiday. We had a great day here. I had a picnic here with my family. DH was working, but he was able to come home a little early, then we headed to my friends home for a picnic, which the kids loved, because they were able to go swimming. The day ended with doing our own fireworks and watching fireworks as well.

What is everyone's plans for today? DH is working again, so the kids and I are currently watching some Christmas movies (I'm hoping to sneak in some Hallmark too!), I'll probably take them outside here in a little bit. Later on when he gets home, we're going to cook outside, have a fire, and camp out tonight.

Tomorrow is DS's 3rd party! He won't be 3 until the 8th, but I took a three day weekend, so we'll be celebrating tomorrow. We're going to be having the party at our house - he wanted the "Cars" movie theme. It's going to be very cute. He's very excited.

Another wonderful weather day here! Sunny and breezy, but it'll be hotter than yesterday. I want to keep the windows open as long as I can to get some of that great summer air in the house.

Just a regular Sunday here, then back to work tomorrow. I've been so spoiled by vacation, July Fourth, and a birthday that it'll be tough to buckle down again!

Just going to be a lazy rest of a Sunday here, I already went out and did work outside with the hedge trimmers. I accidentally cut through the extension cord, but the circuit breaker did it's job and flipped the switch or I would have had quite the shocking experience. cheesy The bad news is that the cord is also used for my outdoor Christmas lights, so add that onto the list of new things we have to buy.

Nice and cool here, I may take advantage of it and take a nap, I am feeling like a nap would feel good today. Just 9 more working days until vacation, I cannot wait!!!

I hope this finds everyone well!

It has been a bit since I was last on, but after several hours I am caught up. Whew! Of course, I am going to be way behind again as this coming week is shaping up to be even busier than last.

One of my latest home projects is ripping out all the floor tiles. I have three rooms full to do and there are a variety of adhesives that were used to put the tiles down so it is going to be quite the job. I pulled up a few in one of the rooms and for some reason it traumatized Palmer. I made sure the floor wasn't sticky, but she was very afraid. For several days I had to carry her into the room so that she could eat, stay with her while she ate and make sure the light was on. I figured that if I moved her food dish it would make her less likely to get over whatever it was that was bothering her. She can move about freely again, so hopefully when I pull more tiles up she will be all right. Last night/this morning she was in manic play mode ~ running all over the house, jumping on and off the bed, jumping up the walls ~ noisier than the fireworks they shot off in the neighborhood on the 4th! She is now sleeping it off. I'm just glad she is back to normal!

It is rainy here, and storming out. The thunder is rolling in, and it's very loud. Poor Harlowe, she's very aware of it, but trying to rest nonetheless.

I have the Hallmark Movie Channel on, and am watching A Christmas Visitor. Such a good movie. Think I'll start some housework, we have company coming next weekend, so it needs to be done.

It will be a nice day here, hot but nice. Humidity is starting to rise so I may close this window soon in favor of the AC. I do love sitting next to the open window in the morning enjoying my tea.

Work called and wanted me to come in but I told them not until at least noon, so they are calling me back if they still want me at that time. I just do not like missing church to often and have already worked the past 2 Sundays, it was time to say no.

Hey, gang! Yesterday was a blast and today is going to only get better! I've got the race coming up in about 20 minutes...go JR! Doc is cooking us some meatloaf (even after I volunteered to make nachos). I'm also going to do some yard work...and then we are putting Bambina in a pool. The Martins are still here, waiting on their young to fly. I'm sure they will be gone in the next week or so, I've gotta make sure to enjoy them while they are still here.

Weather is going to be a nice 87 degrees, but our humidity is kicking it up a notch, also. This past week spoiled a lot of us.
