Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good morning!
It is going to be another nice day. We're going to have temperatures in the mid 70's, we are currently at 61 and it feels great out there.
I spent some time last night taking inventory of all that I bought for my daughter so far. I was really organized when I first started shopping but then I got sloppy and just started throwing the bags in my room. I was starting to forget what I bought and what I didn't buy. (That's usually what happens when I start Christmas shopping too) Anyway, I made a new list of what we still need and we'll be heading out today to do some more shopping. We have to pick up a few things at Best Buy. I also want to take her to Kohl's to get a new bathrobe & slippers to take away. And maybe a trip to Rite Aid to finish up everything on the toiletries list. We're getting there. And then we have to pack! Other than that I will be working on some chores around the house and I also need to drop off some paperwork at the preschool.

I don’t know about y’all, but I can’t wait to see 0 days left until the season arrives! It will be here before you know it. Some of the Christmas-related websites and Facebook pages that I follow are starting to wake-up, so you know we aren’t the only ones feeling the excitement.

School has started, kids are on the way….prayers for a great school year!

It's just TOO nice outside today to work! (But I'll be at the office working, just the same.) Mid-70s and sunny. Not much like August, but that's okay!

I enjoyed my Friday off so much that I'm scheduling a Friday off in September to look forward to. Otherwise, I wouldn't have a vacation day until mid-October. I'm starting to think about what days to take off between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Might be able to take off the entire Christmas week this year! I don't think I've ever been able to do that my entire working life.

Good evening,

Just a day to hang around the homestead today, I re-alphabetized our DVD collection for the first time since October 2008, the month we moved in here. It took hours to do, but now it is done. I even found DVD's I forgot we had. But most importantly, the Christmas movies are now easier to find. cheesy
Tomorrow I have a Dr appt. to figure out what is going on with me, I have so many issues right now, I am just hoping it is something a little antibiotics will knock it out of me.

I also put the Santas from my grandma into a new storage tote, it will only be less than 90 days until they are back on display.

Since I have over 300 Christmas movies and shows on DVD and VHS they are filed in its own Christmas section. All the rest are located on other shelves all in alphabetical order.

Good Morning! Off to an early start today, have to drive down and pick my grandfather up and take him to a doctors appointment and then were off to the Maryland DMV, so that he can get his drivers license renewed. Can you believe that, he'll be 96 in 2 weeks and he's still driving.....God Bless him!

After that, hopefully, I can then head to the office a get some work in today, then that way I will not have to use any vacation time today....

I've been lucky the last few years. I've been able to take off at least 5 - 7 days around Christmas/New Year's Day every year for the last several years. It's just me and one other guy here in the engineering department, and we work together to schedule our holidays off.

Of course, it also helps that, after 25 years of service, I earn 6 weeks off per year. :wink:

It's a hot & muggy morning, and I finally kicked myself in the behind (metaphorically-speaking, of course), and re-started my exercise regimen. Now I'm sore all over, but I feel better about myself.

I'll be travelling for a couple days this week, up near Charlotte, NC (Close to Crown's neck of the woods) to call on some customers. I'm hoping to get a little relief from the stifling humidity down here!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! As always - it went too fast! I'm sleepy today! Our contractors were at our house this morning measuring everything & they were going to order all the material from the lumber yard...so as soon as the lumber is delivered, they can start! Cabinets are coming tomorrow & Wednesday. We went to see the cabinets Friday - I was very impressed. They did a great job!!!

Hope you are all having a good Monday! I'm going to try to read some posts!
