Hey snowflake! Buster is just ok! Thanks for asking & thanks for keeping him in your prayers! Sometimes I think maybe I should just make the dreaded appointment (but I can't!!) & then the next day I have to chase him home from the neighbors! Some days he does a lot of walking in circles & the next day (or sometimes just after a nap) he seems fine. He doesn't act like he's in pain. He's still eating great. He sleeps a lot! He's just so old! I'm not sure how much longer he will be with us. Maybe a day? 2 weeks? 6 months? Who would have thought he would lived to be (almost) 18?? 'O Buster!
We are pretty seriously looking at getting a puppy though. It gives me butterflies wondering if Buster will be ok with it. The puppy will be in a cage during the day while we are at work, so Buster will still have the run of the house & the puppy won't bother him. We will be getting a Soft Coated Wheaten & they are hard to find around here. There is a pup available now (3 hours from here) that is already 4 months old - so that makes me a little nervous - they haven't worked with her on potty training at all, but they said she is socialized with other dogs & humans & she is current on all vaccinations. I'm not sure if I want to miss the 1st couple months of their puppy cuteness, but at the same time, she might train easier being older, etc. I just want to be sure she was socialized properly b/c she will be around a lot of other dogs & people! This same place also has 5 more pups that will be available 2/20/14. There is also a place 4 hours from here that has 2 females available in 2 weeks. AND a male & a female were just put on puppy finder, only 45 minutes from us, but they are CKC registered, not AKC. I really don't care if they are AKC, CKC - we just want to make sure they are pure bread b/c we don't want another dog that sheds. They will be available late February/early March. Ohhhh, decisions!!!

Geesh, I wrote a novel!

Decisions, decisions! I am keeping you all in prayer. Please give Buster a big hug for us, and of course we are sending one to you, too!
I can tell how excited you are about getting a new fur kid!!.

((Hugs))

Talk about having the big head! But it's hard to say no to that crazy camel so I threw in a few dollars.

Praying for good results!

Praying you don't get sick and that Adrian is better soon. Enjoy the deserved day off!

Thank, Ryan!!

Good morning friends. I hope everyone is having a great morning. This week is dragging on but at least it's Thursday. Enjoy your day everyone.

Good Morning Ryan~ Hope today is a better day for you! Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers.

((Hugs))

Snowflake - Hope you and Adrian are feeling better this morning.

Thank you, graywolf. Nice to see you able to be back here, we missed ya. I know reception is an issue, lol. We're just glad that you & Bud are ok.

Seawaters - Wow!! That sounds like my dream kitchen! LOL

Ryan - I am so sorry you've had a rough couple of days!! Hope things turn around today.

Bradmac - FANTASTIC news about your daughter!! So happy for her. Glad your meeting went well!

Victoria - Hope that burn heals quickly for you. I LOVE aloe!! That and tea tree oil. LOL

xmas - ROFL @ Granny Clampet!!!! My FIL is slightly disabled and insisted my son secure what looks like a reclinerish rocker on Noah's 16' Jon boat so he could still go out fishing with him. Oh yeah... it's right up there with the Clampet's truck.

HMG - Hope Molly is all better from when last I read.

Christmas-a-Holic - I am so sorry. I was driving most of the trip and the times we've stopped there has been no connectivity as no cell providers in the areas and hotels with no wifi. LOL. It's the dark ages people!!! Yes, we were cruising right through Dallas when you sent that. LOL

Crown - thanks for the update! Cannot wait for the milestone!

Hope everyone has a wonderfully, blessed Christmassy day!!!

Snowflake - sorry you had a rough day yesterday! I hope & pray you are not getting sick & I hope Adrian is feeling better very soon!!!!

Snow is predicted here for the next 3 days - supposed to be starting soon! Bring it on!

Thanks, Holiday!! I am going to make a run for him, meds, soup, sprite, etc. Then I am going back to sleep =)

Snowing here, too! And windy, looks like a whiteout!

Speaking of snow....IT'S SNOWING LIKE CRAZY!!!!!

:playing:

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's a beautiful day here in Bellville! The sun is shining, it's just above the freezing mark and the wind isn't blowing. I think I'll put on a hardhat and spend some time in the plant today!

Nancy just called and said her mom is cooking homemade soup this evening, and we're invited. Mrs. Hilda makes the BEST homemade soup ever! Can't wait!

I hope y'all have a great day!

Enjoy your beautiful weather! And Mrs. Hilda's homemade soup!!

I saw this! Love it!!

Good Morning All!!

Well I finally got to do some catching up this morning in Flagstaff, AZ. We stopped here for the night and will head on to Phoenix in a bit. Bud has a 2pm show there. Then we move on to Tucson and will stay there for the weekend.

It's neen a strange adventure. Coming through north Texas, somewhere west of Abilene, our brand new car with just the mileage from our trip plus the 28 existing when we bought it, started acting squirrelly. Transmission sounding like it's getting stuck in third gear and revving really high. The timing sounds strange too. I switched to manual so I could physically shift gears and that was no better.

The car is supposed to average at 38 to 40 miles per gallon which it was when we started and we're getting 20, sometimes not even that. That's on open flat roads with the cruise control set on 55.

Coming through New Mexico something hit our windshield, we're guessing a rock but there was no one else around, but hit hard enough to break the windshield.

About :20 minutes after the rock we experienced our first sand storm. This looked like something off The Mummy with Brandon Frasier. ROFL I kept waiting to see the face appear in the sand against the setting sun. So covered in dust both inside and out, we persevered on to Blanca, CO. It's a tiny mountain town.

Coming up around the mountain about 9pm, blizzard. Yeah, not kidding... blizzard. We were very happy at that moment that we bought a car with all wheel drive. So we left Texas that morning at 30 degrees, drove through 80 degrees and arrived to step out of the vehicle arpund 10:30pm to -18. ROFL

And no, mountain people don't cancel school for it. Got up the next morning to do his show at 8:45. LOL

Been all through southern Colorado, all across northern New Mexico and from north to south in Arizona. It has been beautiful and I get to see it all with Bud so that's awesome! Literally. LOL

We'll be heading to a local service center/dealership in Tucson to make them fix our car or swap for another before we both snap. I called the dealership where we bought it in our hometown and have left messages. No one has bothered to call us back. GRRRR!!!

It remains to be seen how I'll be getting back. I was supposed to ride back with a friend who was picking me up in Phoenix on her drive from California back to Florida. That was the plan since early December. Yesterday she calls to tell me she doesn't think she can do it. Info that would have been useful to me a week ago. And yes she'd been reconsidering since New Years. Priced airline tickets last night. *sigh* Buying a ticket with less than 7 days before the flight leaves me with few options. Still trying to get something workable. I have to... absolutely MUST be back by Wednesday night at the latest.

You are on quite the adventurous road trip!! Hope you guys stay safe, and have a better time with your car. Keeping you in prayer.

The photos are gorgeous! My parents just drove a lot of the same trip when they were on their way to Surprise, AZ a week ago.

Take good care, and happy trails!

Sounds like you are having quite an adventure. I can't imagine what a sandstorm must be like, I thought of The Mummy to ! I hope you figure out a convenient way to get back, that must be stressful.

Good morning!
Just got back from walking the dogs. It is going to be cloudy today with a chance of showers and a high of 40 degrees. I'm going to Target for a few things after I finish my coffee. Then I'm bringing Maggie to the vet for her chest xray. I will pop back in later.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Thinking about you and Maggie today, praying everything will be ok.

Good morning! Hard to believe we are already (over) 1/2 way through January!!! It is COLD out there today. Yesterday & today have just been brutal with the wind! Crazy Ohio weather! We go from -20º up to 45º & now back to 24º & WIND!!! Brrrrr!
HOPEFULLY today I will have a little time to do some catching up around here.
I hope all is good with all of you!!!

Have a great day!!!

Nice to see you Holiday. Buster sounds like quite the character. How exciting about your new addition to the fur family! Enjoy your snowfall!

Xmas - Hope you are feeling better!!!

HMG - Have fun on your shopping trip & I hope the vet appt. goes well!

Sugar - Enjoy that massage & hope you were able to get some good sleep!!!

What a trip so far! Good luck getting a return call form the dealership. Be safe!

I grew up in Maryland, and it was something like this ...

Yup, that about sums it up. A dead one description of how things become around here. Ohhhh, and don't forget about toilet paper, bread and milk runs as well......

I still cannot solve the puzzle to why when it snows, it causes people to want to eat more bread, drink more milk and have to wipe their buns more often......

Well after years of talking and planning, we have decided this summer we will be making the trip to Florida to go to Disney. Anyone been? Any tips to pass on to a first timer?

Being sorta a newbie still I am not yet completely familiar with everyone's families. How old are all of your kids? What are they into and what do you and your wife enjoy?

I'm 45 minutes from there and was a design engineer for a few years there. Disney calls them, "Imagineers." LOL Spent my share of time there as both an employee and a guest.

Wow!

My son is 8 and my daughter is 6.

Sounds like you may have some tips!

They moved the countdown thread! Threw me into a panic for a second! :)

Yea, just read Jeff's post about that. Pretty cool!! ❄️⛄

Morning, HmG! Praying for Maggie today.

Good luck at Maggie's appointment today.

((Hugs))

Thinking about you and Maggie today, praying everything will be ok.

HMG - Have fun on your shopping trip & I hope the vet appt. goes well!

Thank you.
The doctor said Maggie's heart looks fine. There are definitely signs of the airway disease though. We will have to fiddle with the medicine and hopefully figure out what will help her to be more comfortable.

Good Afternoon MMC!!!!! It's been snowing like crazy here!!! It was like a whiteout at some points on our way to mom's doctors appointments. They actually had to close down the interstate because there was so many wrecks on it. It looks like one more heavy band and then we should be done with this clipper though. There is more to come though. We'll have about 3 inches today and then we are supposed to get another 1 to 2 inches tomorrow and then 3 to 5 on saturday. Crazy!!! Mom's appointment went well though. The heart monitor came back fine. The doctor still wants her to do a sleep study but her insurance won't pay for it at the hospital. So they are going to try and get her approved for a home sleep study through their office. She has also been complaining about being more forgetful, so they are going to do an EEG next tuesday along with a few blood tests. Now I'm off to get some stuff done around here. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!

Made, I'm glad your moms appointment went well. I will keep her in my prayers, I hope the other tests also go well.
Stay safe with all of that snow!

Thank you.

Question ~
My Platinum membership needed to be renewed this morning so I went ahead and did it. I just noticed it now says Gold member under my username instead of Platinum and I also can't get to my profile page anymore. Any idea why?

No, I can use it, had to put duct tape on the front lights to hold them in place. But it looks awlful; the truck would look like something from the TV show "The Beverly Hillbillies", driving down the road...except that it would be missing the rocking chair and grannie sitting in the back holding a shotgun~

In my area, most people usually have tires that are rated for the snow/ mud/rain; sort of "all terrain tires". However, around here, it's usually just safer just to stay off the roads because when people around here, when they see one snowflake (not our Snowflake, LOL), they panic. People around here cannot drive at all, and it's them you have to watch out for, not the weather~ And that's what happened to me, people ridding someone's bumper, someone one slammed on the brakes and it was a chain reaction behind them. Lucky for me, I was about 20-30 feet behind the guy in front of me, and that's what saved me from slamming into the back of him....
