Well it's a sad afternoon here. I had some leftover chili in my crock pot and finished it off for lunch. As I filled the liner with warm water to wash it though, it cracked almost in half. It was a devastating blow. She had served me so well over the last couple of years. So I said a little prayer for her as I carried her out to the dumpster so she can head to her final resting spot. Now I'm just sitting here stunned and wondering what to fix for dinner now that I don't have my trusty companion to help me out. í*½í¸ží*½í¸¢

So sorry to hear about your crockpot!

So driving around over the weekend I noticed a yard sale at house a street over from mine there had been an elderly couple living there and every year he would go all out decorating for Christmas. My kids of course every year would say we would beat him out and have better display of course we never did. This man was an obvious Christmas junkie and he had years and years worth of great decorations, he never even knew he was in a competition with my kids . It seems that he passed away last November and believe me we noticed the unusual darkness of the yard last year but I thought maybe he was just ill and unable to decorate as usual what a shock . Then to see the yard sale with so much fantastic Christmas stuff being sold for pennies compared to what it meant to him was a sad thing to see . I bought a huge share of it to add to my collection and will think of that elderly couple when I put out this year but I thought I would share with the group the loss of someone who is unknown by us personally but is just like all of us .

I'm sad to hear of his loss. I'm sure he is looking down and happy to know that someone who loves Christmas just as much as he did got his decorations and will carry on the tradition that he started.

Good afternoon, friends! Been busy here today, doing laundry and some things around the house. I decided to make Italian veggie soup for dinner, so that's currently cooking in the crock pot. Other than that, DS and I have been watching TV, coloring, and playing trucks.

Hope you're all having a great Monday and are having a great start to your week!

Hope you guys had a great day, Friend!!! Enjoy your evening!!!

Quitting time! I think I'll go home & turn on some Christmas music on Amazon Prime!

Have a great night everyone!!!!

Have a great night, Holiday!!!!!

Good afternoon!
I'm having a quick coffee break and I wanted to say hello. I hope everyone's having a great day so far. I have to get started on some chores soon and I also need to run a few errands. I played with Sophia for a little while after work. She's kind of crazy, lol. She might give Bentley a run for his money. I showed the kitten to the other two cats, Bella hissed at her and Ben ran out of the room. I really, really hope they all end up liking each other!

Hope the chores and errands go quickly!!!!! I'm sure they will all get along!!! It will just take awhile for everyone to get use to each other!!!

She is adorable!!!

Since I was a kid, a local lady has always decorated for Christmas, using the same yard displays since the early 70's. It wasn't the largest display (by far) in later years, but it was my favorite because I looked forward to seeing the same displays, however dated they were.

When she passed, her family donated the decorations to a neighbor who carefully displays them every year now. He puts up a plaque "In Memory Of Mrs. Shuman", too. Nice!

That's what the season is all about. Tradition, nostalgic memories and a sign of human kindness from the neighbour. I'm sure Mrs Schuman's family appreciate her memory being kept alive in that little way.

That is great that they still put it out and dedicate it to her.
