Happy Monday to all! I just cooked up a spaghetti squash for dinner later. It works well in place of pasta if you have problems with wheat like I do. All decorated for Halloween for when the grandkids come over. I hope everyone has a great week!

I've always thought about trying it, I will have to one of these days. Hope you have a great week to, frostyman!

Good early evening from me! Hope you all had a good start of the week. :] I was reading the posts and thinking how nice it is to see everyone doing great and enjoying the Fall.
I started my week with a fieldtrip to numerous locations talking about invasive species. It was very interesting although some severe rain happened time to time. My friend and me decided to stop at 'Starbucks' for PSL, the very first one this season. It was yummy! :]
Going to watch few videos of my favorite 'YouTuber' because her attitude always inspires and motivates me to do things.

So driving around over the weekend I noticed a yard sale at house a street over from mine there had been an elderly couple living there and every year he would go all out decorating for Christmas. My kids of course every year would say we would beat him out and have better display of course we never did. This man was an obvious Christmas junkie and he had years and years worth of great decorations, he never even knew he was in a competition with my kids . It seems that he passed away last November and believe me we noticed the unusual darkness of the yard last year but I thought maybe he was just ill and unable to decorate as usual what a shock . Then to see the yard sale with so much fantastic Christmas stuff being sold for pennies compared to what it meant to him was a sad thing to see . I bought a huge share of it to add to my collection and will think of that elderly couple when I put out this year but I thought I would share with the group the loss of someone who is unknown by us personally but is just like all of us .

How wonderful that you can continue the decorations with your family. The rest of the neighborhood with love it too. Be sure he will be having a smile on his face this Christmas!

That is very sad that he passed away, but he would be so happy to know that another Christmas lover (and the kids) bought his decorations! Enjoy decorating this year!!! Sweet story! :smile:

I'm having a quick coffee break and I wanted to say hello. I hope everyone's having a great day so far. I have to get started on some chores soon and I also need to run a few errands. I played with Sophia for a little while after work. She's kind of crazy, lol. She might give Bentley a run for his money. I showed the kitten to the other two cats, Bella hissed at her and Ben ran out of the room. I really, really hope they all end up liking each other!

Well it's a sad afternoon here. I had some leftover chili in my crock pot and finished it off for lunch. As I filled the liner with warm water to wash it though, it cracked almost in half. It was a devastating blow. She had served me so well over the last couple of years. So I said a little prayer for her as I carried her out to the dumpster so she can head to her final resting spot. Now I'm just sitting here stunned and wondering what to fix for dinner now that I don't have my trusty companion to help me out.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

I've really enjoyed this nice, cool weekend weather! It was still in the upper 40's this morning! But, all things must change; it'll be 90° by Thursday. :-o Still, it's a sign of times to come.

We had a super busy weekend with Jacob's gig Saturday and Elizabeth dancing and Dracula practice on Saturday. Jacob was told to be there at 8 AM, but his band didn't play till after lunch. Grrr.

The city well on my side of town is still giving us trouble, and I'm getting calls from residents about it. Time to kick the repairman in the pants!

Stuck at Passport but at least I am working somewhere! No calls at all this morning.

It is a chilly fall day in Ottawa. Same as yesterday but no rain in the forecast. I like that.

I plan to be a little busy tonight. I am hockey at 11pm, which is far too late, but I also want to go to the gym. We will see if I can get a nap in there, too.

Good Morning everyone!! I want to thank everyone that welcomed me back after my long hiatus, I have so much to catch up on here. Feel bad about losing touch with this site and all the wonderful people here, have to say I really feel bad about discovering the passing of CM3. When I was really active here a few years ago Louann's abundant Christmas spirit would always brighten my day. Just discovered the post about it today, one of the people I remembered the most from here. Life is so short. Will be spending a lot of time today just reading and catching up with all that has been going on in the last couple years

Anyway hope everyone is having a great day and the Christmas spirit is strong with everyone today!

Losing CM3 was a sad time around here. We know she is up there looking down on us though and cheering us along!!!

I have been wanting to try this recipe for awhile, so maybe today when I go home for lunch I'll whip it up & we'll give it a try tonight for supper!

Yum!!! I may have to make that tonight or tomorrow!!!
