The city is on lockdown again. Well, not all of Ottawa. Kim and I live about a 15 minute walk from Parliament. We're in a safe(ish) area, but everything close to Parliament is in lockdown. It has been a tough day for Canada's Capital. It is a shame that a young soldier lost his life. We can only hope for the best for his friends, family, and loved ones. As a country, we can only be proud to be Canadian and make our country even stronger.
Coincidentally, I was supposed to go to a concert tonight right beside the Rideau Centre - about a five-minute walk from Parliament. That concert has been canceled. I can only hope a date is rescheduled. I've been waiting for this show for about five months. One of my favourite bands was playing, and I have not seen them since 2008. Bad timing. It's a real shame that stuff like this happens.
With all these events, I can't help but wish for the feelings of peace and joy that Christmas brings. Regardless of the situation, Christmas always brings a smile to my face. If only the world had more of the wonderful people like yourselves.
With that said, we are only three weeks away from the day that we will partake in the final countdown to the Christmas Seasons. Right now, I can't wait to say those two magical words. I hope you all have a wonderful night and have enjoyed your 'Pines Day!
