At the end of the iconic film " Gone With The Wind" Scarlett O Hara is left defeated, broken, and alone. And in her despair, it comes to her.. "there is something far greater that delivers you.. it is the land.. and Tara.."... and while we do not in our every day lives come close to the challenges of nineteenth century living, we are daily reminded, that in our darkest of days, there exists something far greater, and it is community, faith in each other, and Christmas.



We found each other in a common love of the holidays and in that which only for a brief period, calms a world surely gone mad. There is something far greater that the mayhem and chaos of the world. And for us, that is each other and, Christmas.



And so it has come to this, Four days until the season.

Hope everyone is having a great day. I'm going to make a brandy and Guinness Xmas pudding today. Has to stand for two weeks in the fridge so I thought I'd get a move on.

It snowed last night

Windows on van frozen , took me ten minutes to scrape it off

It is -1c (30f) this morning , bring it on !!

What are your plans for the day?
I plan to continue to work on my tree, I got about half of it decorated before my cousin came over, then I spent the rest of the evening catching up with her. And then tonight, watching football. Go Pack, Go!! We are bracing ourselves for the first real snowfall of the year- starting off with a bang! Winter storm warning starts tonight through Tuesday. High winds, dropping temps, blowing & drifting, 8-12 inches expected. Will be gorgeous, but not looking forward to the commutes. The plows aren't too on top of things here. They wait until 3 inches fall to even begin. [emoji301]️ [emoji300]️[emoji301]️[emoji300]️[emoji301]️

Have fun finishing the tree and trash talking with the hubby today, Buddy!!!! Stay safe and warm in all of that snow!! I'll be worried about you!! That is crazy that they don't start plowing until you get 3 inches. I guess they figure it would cost to much to do it with all of the snow you get though.

Cooler weather persisted yesterday but it was dry and sunny.
A slow warming trend is predicted and we could reach the low 70's by mid week.
We are currently at 46 degrees here.

Still not working this morning. Every time I try it fails and says I have to update Tapatalk. When I try to update Tapatalk it doesn't work, I think my phone might be too old (I have an Iphone 4) It's so frustrating that it would just stop working like that. Oh well, I'm probably getting close to being able to upgrade my phone. I'll have to have my hubby check on that.

That is what my kindle is doing too. Then everytime I go into the app store to get the update, it says no update available. It is frustrating.

That is what they're thinking, I'm sure. But there are so many accidents that they spend $ elsewhere, and people are hurt and even killed. Ridiculous.

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!!! It's going to be a decent day here with a high in the mid 50's and hopefully some sun this afternoon. Tomorrow should be really nice then Tuesday, Snowflake is going to send that nasty storm my way. Boo!!!! LOL!!! Not much planned for today. Will just be sitting here watching Hallmark and the Nascar race. Might catch some football in there too. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

Brent- I vowed to never again buy a pre lit tree,,,, nightmares....

YABBA!

I've heard many horror stories, Binger. Perhaps the next one will be an unlit tree! Somehow, I have managed to avoid them with my mom's tree as well as our small tree. Hoping for much of the same!

we have had light snow on and off for a couple of days, just enough to see it was snowing, but nothing stuck. This morning was white and chilly. I have had winter tires on for a couple of weeks now, forced into it due to a flat tire, just easier to put the winters on right away.
Hope you get more teaching in.

It looks beautiful there this morning. We haven't had any stick. It's still green this morning in Ottawa. We'll see how the teaching goes. Hopefully I get a call tonight for tomorrow!
