Evening all, It's been a hectic day. We didn't actually get to go up into the loft to get those decorations down :) Hopefully after work tomorrow although that is probably pushing it :) Anyway sometime soon for sure.

I am just going to watch some tv with the family and discuss gifts and Christmas plans with Mr festive . Enjoying some mulled cider and burning a spiced apple candle - bliss.

Enjoy your evening and Sunday.

It's a chilly morning! Currently 4 degrees! We are expecting more snow tonight, up to 3 inches.

What are your plans for the day?

I will be getting some things done around the house, working on Christmas cards, and watching Christmas movies!

Tomorrow, my family comes & we head to Green Bay for the Packers-Eagles game. So excited!

Good morning!
I'm heading out soon, I have to do a big food shopping trip and I want to get it over with. I also plan on doing some deep cleaning this weekend. I really have my work cut out for me, I kind of let things go with all of the construction going on. My husband is almost finished painting so things should really start to come together now. We had cushions and pillows made for the window seat, so we'll be setting that up. And we're also ready to hang the new curtains. I'll post pictures when its finished.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Good Saturday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's cold down here, but not as cold as most of you, I suspect.

I had hoped to see a movie this afternoon while Elizabeth is at ballet, but I just found out she's riding with a friend, so I don't have a good enough excuse to drive 30 miles just to see my movie. :-( Maybe one day...

There's still plenty to do around here, so I better get to it.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Good afternoon, Brad! Bummed about the movie - maybe you and Nancy can go and see it one of these evenings!

Hope you're having a great day!

Good Morning, MMC!!!!! It's going to be a chilly day with a high around 30 this afternoon. Then tonight the first acculmating snow of the season moves in. It looks like we should only get an inch or so out of this system. I can handle that. Then tomorrow tonight we may see even more. My 2 niece's just showed up so I have to go fix them breakfast since their mom didn't do it before bringing them in. So I'll be back after that to get caught up. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

Good morning, Made! Stay warm and safe in the snow! Hope you're having a great day with your nieces!

Good morning, everyone!

It's the first weekend of the Christmas Season! Kim and I are going to brave the shopping world today and attempt to purchase a few things. We're heading down to Bayshore Shopping Centre in hopes to spot some mall Christmas decorations and a few gifts for her nephews. We also need to make a few last minute purchases for our home decorations. Hopefully we don't spend too much money.

It's a clear blue sky in Ottawa today. Temperatures are to reach a high just above the freezing mark. Brr! I forgot to mention, yesterday, Simon experienced his first snowfall. Kim has new work hours, so she is off on Fridays... Simon was quite confused while watching the fluffy stuff dance its way down from the sky. Kim sent me a video. It was quite cute!

Well, I should begetting ready. I think were already about 30 minutes behind. Hopefully we're not out until 4. We have a busy day ahead of us. Aside from the shopping, which includes groceries, we also have to attend my friend Scott's 31st birthday celebration! I am actually not sure if it is a surprise. His girlfriend is hosting a bacon party. We all have to bring something that has bacon! It should be delicious. Kim is not quite yet sure what we will bring. She's excited to try making something though.

Have a great Saturday, everyone! The first weekend of the Christmas Season has arrived! Be sure to do something extra Christmassy today!

Hope you guys are having a fun day of shopping!

Happy Birthday to your friend! Enjoy the bacon themed party! I would enjoy that greatly!

A rather late Saturday hello :-) to everyone!

It's great reading in the posts about your decorations going up, plans for decorating, shopping, etc. Very festive!

I'm feeling festive today myself. Here's why. I have a spinet piano that I've had since I was 7 years old. I brought it here with me when I moved to Massachusetts to get married. I get it tuned every year before Thanksgiving, even though I rarely get the chance to play it---when I DO play it, it's Christmas music for the season. I realized just this morning, as I listened to the tuner striking the keys and tuning the strings, starting at the bass end and working her way up to the treble keys, that it is one of the sounds of the season, and it made me smile. I never considered it a sign of the season before, but now I know it's another little milestone that means "Christmas is coming!"

I don't get any practice in, and I stumble through my favorite sheet music during the season and think of how much better I could play when I was in my teens---but Mr. absolutely loves it and thinks it sounds wonderful. I think I'll play a little later!

I'm also feeling festive because I had taken everything off the piano for the tuner, and now I'm looking at a blank canvas and thinking of what sort of holiday decorations I could dress it up with---maybe a clear bowl full of glass ball ornaments, or Santa's Quartet, or the music box of Santa in an antique car stuffed with toys (and one startled-looking reindeer). Possibilities!

Okay, I'm running on too much.

Sounds like a wonderful day, MerryCarey! Enjoy striking those cords and figuring out how you'll decorate the piano!

:wiggy: I like the Packers - let the snowballs fly! I like covered bridges too!

memories, they fill our minds more and more as we get older. I love to read about and listen to the stories of how other people grew up.
Thank you for sharing.

That's what makes this gathering of Christmas lovers so much fun to be around - the sharing of stories and the moments when we shout with joy, "hey, me too!" or at least spark a similar memory in someone else's mind.

Think I would risk the reaction and bring a yuletide cheery dancing Christmas pig and sneak it into that party instead of bacon. HaHaHoHo!

They used to have a year round Christmas store in the downtown market area, but I believe it closed a few years ago. I've shopped at Bayshore a few times, I'm sure YULE find something special.

Lovely memories! Thank you! Makes me think of family and neighbor gatherings I remember from childhood.

I thought I was running out of festive memories to share, alas I have a few more.

I can just picture O'Malley getting into mischief with the wrapping and the scotch tape … give the big lug a hug for me, please! I know he'll enjoy the gift bag. That's a brilliant idea for keeping him busy with his own "wrapping."

:hello: He's still full of surprises. Gave us a health scare last June, but we changed his diet and he seems better now, I think he needs to chew his food more - he sounded like an old man with terrible cough - I feared he had feline asthma, but the VET said his heart seemed fine and there was no wheezing when I brought him in. Now I wonder if he was doing it for attention. The end of my day relaxing with that boy who will be 10 in January helps me unwind - he's still wild, but when he pours on the charm, we forget how about his wild side.

Good afternoon, dear friends!

It's snowing!!! [emoji300]️

Hope you're having a wonderful Saturday!

Started off with blue skies and wound up with snow falling again while I was out shopping with my mom. As it turned out, she didn't go for my idea of doing the costume portraits because they have no wall space left since my dad's oil paintings have taken over. He's quite talented so when she mentioned our photo going up on the wall, I realized she was right about not "fitting in" with the other works of art.

We had a great time shopping. The Green Store was our first stop, followed by lunch, the mall and Mark's Work Warehouse. I just dropped her off an hour ago.

My mom and I hit a rough spot in our relationship a few years after her stroke and then I thought about all the great memories and couldn't hold her responsible for some of the things she said because the stroke caused a problem with her "social filter" and she doesn't always mean what comes out.

When she was improving, I was able to share some of my feelings with her and now it's like we're girlfriends again like when I came home to visit from those College days. Today, I remembered how great it is to forgive and let go and begin again. We created another memory for each other today just in being together and we even joked a bit. I have no idea how much time we have left to spend together, I sure wouldn't want regrets so I'm glad we're getting along so well - actually better than before - sometimes honesty is all it takes.

Anyway, thanks for listening.

I was so relieved for you when you found out O'Malley was going to be ok. Glad the new diet has helped him. Please give him a hug or high-five for us[emoji172]

It sounds like you & your Mom are in a beautiful place, so happy to hear that. Glad you two had so much fun today!

We are always here to listen!

Have a wonderful night, Auntie!

Well they just issued a winter storm advisory from 4pm tomorrow until 9am Monday. So the snow shovel has come out of it's hiding spot and is now resting beside the front door. Hopefully that will be enough to scare off anything that is headed our way.
