Well I've taken mom to the doctor's office and now we are just waiting on them to call her with the results. I've also managed to get all of my cooking done expect the turkey. So talk about a productive morning. Now i just need to run to the store and sweep and mop the kitchen. I think it's time for lunch first though.

[Holiday]

Breakfast is done and kitchen is clean part 1. Now I am debating whether to go ahead and roast our 14 pound turkey today with the cornbread stuffing. Brandi has decided to ask a few of her students who are living in the dorms at her school who was not able to go home for the holiday to come spend tomorrow with us. So I am going to try to fry a slightly larger 16 pound turkey in the indoor fryer..I simply can't wait to try that out! I remember those old outdoor fryers use to really scare me, so I always let my bro in law do it. Everything is in the fridge just waiting to be cooked and I don't really have anything to do but entertain the inlaws. BTW they sure dodged a bullet by coming out west, I think they are having a snow storm at home in Massachusetts right now...I hope everyone out that way is hunkered down, and I hope you all are staying safe out there!

How exciting!!! Have fun experimenting!! I'm wondering what my brother who lives in MA has planned for the holiday. Might have to give him a call!

Still monitoring the office email for about another hour. Sure glad to be home today, 'cause I'm not feeling terribly well. I probably just need some rest. The rain is starting to turn over to snow. If I feel like it later, I will check over my light strings and string them on the tree. If I don't feel well, I may curl up with a Christmas movie.

Sooo glad to hear it MerryCarey!! Have a great day working from home! Stay safe! My friends were supposed to arrive in Boston around 3am overnight. Last I heard from her was midnight! Sounds like they might have a white Thanksgiving!!

I think they will … the rain has changed to snow here (we're in the MetroWest area) and it's starting to lay on the grass. Expecting 4 to 8 inches here, last I heard. It's unusual to have a snowy Thanksgiving here, in spite of Currier & Ives.

Days to Thanksgiving: 1 (TOMORROW!!)
Days to Christmas Day: 29 (FOUR WEEKS from tomorrow!)

Time is just racing by.


Well, we had rain off and on most all day yesterday.
It was warm, but outdoor work and activities could not be attempted.
Hopefully, things will be better later today and also tomorrow for Thanksgiving.
We have begun the day at 46 degrees with the rain still falling.


Okie-Dokie, Folks.
It's Thanksgiving at the 'Pines!
The inn has been miraculously (albeit temporarily) transformed from Christmas into Thanksgiving for tonight's open house.
Fall leaves on the tables.
Pilgrim figures.
Indian corn.
Pumpkins everywhere.
Turkey-shaped fired twinkies.....

(Wait a minute -- TURKEY shaped fired twinkies??)

Anyway, let's go. A huge Thanksgivng feast is promised at "reasonable prices" (whatever that means).
Regardless it's sure to be fun! Hope to see you there.

Good afternoon, everyone!

I'm back teaching today. I really don't like those days off! It's been an all right day thus far. Non-stop, really, though.

I hope everyone enjoyed the final Rudolph Day of the year. It's a more seasonal day in Ottawa today. No complaints for that. The snow has all melted in there is very little in our long range forecast, too. I'm sure it will return, eventually!

I purchased my plane ticket home today. I was worried that I would not be able to afford it and have to take the bus home. Thankfully, there was a sale of about $100 for the flight. I ended up paying $233. It's about $50 more than I wanted to spend, but a lot better than I could have spent. The bus would have saved me about $140. Still, I think it might be a little better to not be stuck on an overnight bus for 12 hours. The 4 1/2 hours of travel (including layovers) via plane is just a little better.

Well, I guess I should get to a few things. I have both the gym and hockey tonight. It's going to be a little busy. Hopefully I don't get too tired to skate. Oh, and I hope to still have some energy remaining for the pre-Thanksgiving party at the 'Pines tonight! Merry Christmas!

Just getting back from the local grocery and it was a mad house of course...but the one thing I noticed was everyone was patient and smiling and just in a wonderful mood. I wish folks could act like this everyday! It is a sunny beautiful day here about 51F I looked at our 10 day forecast and no snow in the foreseeable future but I can live with that as long as the night are cold and they will be! so I better go tend to the turkey..oh and I also bought a ham...I think we are going to be sending everyone home tomrorrow with our food because I simply have bought too much! Well I will check back with yall soon!
