Christmas Countdown - 2014

Hi everyone,

I just came in to let you all know our cat Sidney, passed away tonight. He was only 4 years old. We brought him to the Animal hospital emergency room, he had emergency surgery to fix an obstructed urethra, and he was unable to recover.
He was JP's cat, and he is going to be devastated when he wakes up in the morning. Sidney adored JP, and JP adored Sidney. They were best buddies, Sid was always "talking" to JP. He is going to be missed, he was such an easygoing, loving, happy go lucky cat.
Sidney may you rest in peace. We all love you.

We told JP about Sidney this morning when he woke up, he was very numb to the news. My wife called out from work, and we kept the boys home.

Sidney was the best cat, he was the most loyal, loving creature, and he followed JP around like a little puppy. I wish we caught this sooner and he would still be here with us.

Good evening,

It has been a very emotional one here tonight, I lost it completely when I tucked JP in for bed. That is when Sidney always jumped in bed and cuddled with him. Every single night since he was a kitten.
At this point, we just feel like we should not celebrate Christmas, we are not done decorating, we have yet to do any shopping, and losing Sidney 2 weeks before Christmas is just the icing on the cake. Sidney had so much presence in this house, it just doesn't feel the same without him. He was the personality, and the "joker" of all the animals. He was always the first one to greet us at the door when we got home from any where. He greeted us every morning when he heard we were awake, he stuck up for JP when JP would get in trouble by meowing back at us when we were yelling at JP. HE was truly a one of a kind cat, the best cat ever.

I am just very emotional tonight, and venting, we just need a big dose of Christmas spirit at this point.

Sidney sounds like he was an amazing best friend.

I'm so sorry, Xmas. I wish there was something I could do to comfort you guys. My heart is breaking for you all. Just know how much we care, and are sending you lots of love and many prayers.

Have Christmas in memory of Sidney, he will be there in spirit. Canninemom is most likely playing with him right now. Talk about all the wonderful things you remember about him, do some crying and some laughing together. He came into your lives for a short time for a reason, and then had to say goodbye. He will be missed but never forgotten. What a blessing he was.

I'm sorry, Xmas!!! I hope you can find that Christmas spirit again soon. Sidney sounds like he was an awesome pet and friend. Praying for all of you.

Xmas, my heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time. Sidney sounds like an amazing cat. He was taken much too soon but I'm glad he had a beautiful life with a wonderful family. May you find peace and comfort. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers. Sending hugs your way.

I agree with this. We bought ornaments that are miniature picture frames, and put in pictures of our departed pets, so they are always part of our Christmas. We shed a few tears when we hang them on our tree, but we also share happy memories at the same time.
