Thanks for the kindly sentiments sent my way today on this first day of the new count thread.

I will endeavor to try to remain worthy as the years pass until that future day when the torch -- er -- window candle is passed.
I will be turning 60 this year and am gradually starting to feel the press of the passing years.

But for now, I plan to be here for at least another decade or so, the fates willing!

HmG, oh my, I hope your eye is better soon! That had to really hurt.

Christmasstar, I hope you are better today and was able to get a good sleep! No fun having stomach troubles.

track, I hope you are better soon!

CAH, you are in my prayers! {{{HUGS}}}

Made, I'm so glad you made it safely to and from the hospital. Your mom is in my prayers!

Whoo Hoo!! It's good to see everyone here and ready to rock the countdown for 2014! I hope everyone had a phenomenal Christmas and is ready to have a great new year. I am going to try to keep up with all the posts this year but they are already coming fast and furious lol (and that's a good thing). Between school for me starting back on the 13th and homeschool for the boys starting back next Monday, keeping up here, and the chance of snow (yeah right) I'm going to be good and busy for the next little while.

Have a good night everyone and Lord willing I'll see y'all tomorrow!!
:tree::celebrate::tree:

Hi, Sprinkleshouse - good to see you! Good luck with school! What are you studying?

good morning, folks!

Regular countdown duities resume for yours truly as we move boldly into yet another year of counting and anticipating here at the great site of mmc.

Straight to the count.......and to a sudden realization of just how close we are to milestone # 1!
Days to the season: 315
days to christmas day: 357

and the statistics tell the tale and point the way to our first milestone: The 300-day season window.
it's just a mere 2 weeks from tomorrow, guys!
(is it too early to issue a "wow!"?)

we have started out cold - but not too cold - here in january where it is clear and 41 degrees at this hour.
Should be a nice sunny day, though, with no precip in the immediate forecast.

Ok.
You have a thoroughly thrilling thursday, everyone!
(and guess what? Weekend eve tomorrow already!)

wowabunga!!!

Good morning!
We have a blizzard warning issued for this evening in to tomorrow afternoon. The winds are picking up and the roads are already slippery. I just dropped my daughter off at work, I don't want the kids driving today. We could see up to 10 inches of snow, we'll see what happens. I ran to the supermarket last night and the butcher this morning so I'm all set.
My husband's vacation is over, he headed back in to work today. I thought he would get more done around the house this past week but it didn't happen. Oh well. Maybe my house will be finished next Christmas!
Not too much else going on here today. I will be cleaning. The girls rooms are a mess. They still have Christmas gifts all over the place. My two youngest are home today so I think its a good day to tackle their rooms.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
And I hope everyone dealing with this winter weather stays safe!

Stay safe & warm, friend!!

xx

I had a nice Christmas but as you say it always goes far too fast

I was in Germany before Christmas for a few days at the Christmas markets which are beautiful.

Hi, irishsnow! I'm so glad you had a nice Christmas and was able to visit the German Christmas markets - that had to be such fun!

EI am all caught up!!! For now. LOL. I'm sure in a few hours I'll be 10 pages behind again.

Good Morning MMC!! No real plans much for today. My husband goes back on tour on the 8th so other than some general business stuff we're trying to do nothing. LOL

Our tree is still up, because, like I said we celebrate Epiphany. All our lights are still up outside and lit till then too. I will be in a mad rush on the 7th to dismantle everything because I'm going with Bud when he leaves. First stop is in Colorado so long drive for us. Over the course of the week we'll see Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona. A friend who lives north of San Francisco is having to drive her FIL's RV to Atlanta, GA for him so she's picking me up in Phoenix and we're road tripping back.

I have to be back by the morning of the 23rd to go with Noah down to Miami for a competition. Ridiculous. The kid graduated HS when he was 15, teaches seminars to grown men, but he can't check into a hotel without his mommy present because he's a few months shy of 18. Again I say - Ridiculous. Note here he wouldn't be totally on his own in Miami LOL. I'm not crazy. He needs a hotel room though and I have to be present.

Big decisions for us over the next week. Have to decide how we want our business to go from here - with a partner or on our own. We started business in 2000. We took on a partner in 2010. That was such a blessing to me, so I'm a little leary of taking back over everything 100%. We've talked about taking on another partner but it's a daunting decision because it means being able to trust someone you don't really know all that well with a portion of your livelihood.

Oh well... it'll all work out. :-)

My son and nephew went to the store last night for some things for Noah's Jon boat. They had the presence of mind to buy me a new Wolf calendar. I love stuff like that. :-) When someone sees something small, and stops to get it for you, because it reminded them of you or knew you needed it. :-) That's just the best!

Thoughts & prayers with you as you make such a big decision.

That was very sweet of Noah & your nephew to get you that calendar!

I hope to Meceka. I have a separate shed that is 18x30 that I am going to use as my garden shed. I already moved all my stuff that I used for my garden at my previous house into it and I still have more to move in.

Right now, I am sort of just thinking, looking around and pondering where to put one (a vegetable garden) at. The previous owner never put a vegetable garden in, and with all the deer that I see around the house, I'm going to have to really think about this and put a very high fence up all around any garden (to keep the deer out of it) that I will put in. cheesy:rudolph::rudolph:

That is a nice-sized garden shed - I'm sure you will put it to good use! Deer love seedlings and saplings. Good idea to put up a fence. Have fun planning! I pulled out a kitchen garden book the other day and there are several more gardening books I need to locate. I should have an idea of what I want to plant no later than mid March so that I can start my seedlings. My brother is going to look into installing grow lights in the basement for me. If the price is right, he will put them in when he has time off of work.

For all of you who are in the path of the storms, be safe and warm!

Made, be careful shoveling!

Xmastidings, have a safe trip home!

Xmas365, enjoy the snow!

Jennifer, I hope you get the snow you want!

MerryCarey, praying Mr. gets home safe and that neither of you have to go in to work tomorrow!

No. LOL Our son is the musician around here. Please don't ask Bud to touch any of Noah's guitars. LOL

Bud is a strength coach, author, motivational speaker and professional performing strongman (think Ringling Bros old school, minus the animal print unitard and gladiator boots LOL). For the last three years he's been doing an anti-bullying assembly for kindergarten-12th grade. He tours the country leaving in September, flying home for a few days on Thanksgiving, drives home at Christmas usually here by Christmas Eve, then leaves again the 1st or 2nd week of January. Comes home again in June. He does between 10 and 15 shows per week and averages around 1000 miles per week.

On weekends he does strength seminars for professional athletes. It's a full schedule. LOL

Here's the latest map from Accuweather for the East Coast starting tonight~

I live right on the snow border so it could go either way for me. So far we have been dodging the heavy stuff but it has been snowing all afternoon - very fine and powdery at times and big and fluffy at times. It is the blowing and drifting that will cause problems here.

Good Evening!
My first post to this years Countdown tread! :-D
And you are already on page 61???? How is that possible?

School started here today.
And that's means that The Christmas vacation is over.

We did take down all the Christmas stuff today!
The Christmas tree was the last thing we took down....

I am not able to catch up on everything so sorry if I missed any big news! You are welcome to pm me with anything big I missed!

I got a lot going on the next few days that might even go into next week. A lot on my mind as well! Lets just say it's regarding hearing word from my doctor on some test that I am going through. If you don't mind, please send prayers and/or positive vibes my way!

I want to keep this place HAPPY HAPPY so not here to bring doom and gloom to the Countdown. I am just a little anxious and want good news! I will share more later when I hear a report.

Stay Merry my Christmas Friends!!!

Keeping you in my prayers, (((CAH))).

Here is my first post in the new countdown! Happy 2014 countdown everyone! I hope everyone had a great New Year, and the rest of the year is a good one!

Happy New Year, SIT!!!

Good afternoon, MMC!

I'm sitting by the window in the kitchen, watching the snow fall. It is very pretty - reminds me of the night I stumbled across MMC. Hard to believe that was over 5 years ago now.

I finally finished the afghan I was crocheting. :???:

As I was laying it out on the bed in preparation for taking a picture, Palmer jumped right in the center of it. Her claws get caught in things fast so I shooed her off and put the afghan in a tote bag. I'll take a picture of it at my cousin's house - I promised her one a couple of years ago. The next item I am going to finish is the scarf I have been knitting - when that is done I just might have the first Christmas gift of 2014 made. cheesy

Be safe, warm and MERRY!!!

Oh and I forgot to mention the 10+ inches of snow Saturday in to Sunday.

Stay warm & safe, buddy!!

xx

Wow!! Your tree is GORGEOUS, Solice!!

You are an inspiration, my friend!

Happy New Year!!!

Good afternoon,

My wife ended up taken my MIL and her dog to the vet, it isn't looking too good right now. It is something wrong with his kidneys, it depends what exactly is wrong, if it is failure there is nothing they can do. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

It is snowing like the Dickens now, but the heavy stuff won't be here until the evening, it is beautiful, I will try to get a picture of my outdoor lights with the snow falling.

I finally finished watching "A Christmas Story 2" this morning, it has really grown on me. It is a fun movie on its own, but the actors playing the characters have made me like it.

I will be snowed in all day, I'll be popping in throughout the day

ttyl

Extra prayers for Billy & your MIL, friend.

((Hugs))

Enjoy the beautiful snow!

Stay safe & warm!!

Hi everyone!

We were supposed to get up to 8 inches of snow here but so far it's been a bust - only an inch or so! I'm sure I will have plenty of more chances for snow this winter, though!

Hi Jennifer! :-D

We just got word that our office is closed tomorrow. I don't know yet whether that means "work from home" or "snow day." I'm hoping for a snow day!

The timing of this storm is perfect, coming right after the holidays before everything has gotten back up to speed again, so it isn't very busy.

I'm hoping that Mr. can get out a little earlier to beat the heaviest snow, which is arriving later tonight. But his partner is out today, so he may have to stay until 7 p.m. to cover. Hoping that other people there will leave early so there won't be any work coming in to him.

Hope it's a snow day! Praying that you & Mr. stay safe.

It's time to go, the wife just called and told me that it's starting to snow at home...I was hoping to get a jump on the weather before it actually started snowing.. Oh this is going to be fun....41 miles to home~

Drive safe, xmastidings!

MerryCarey, praying Mr. gets home safe and that neither of you have to go in to work tomorrow!

Thank you! Mr. is still stuck at his office, as far as I know. I got word that my office is closed tomorrow, but Mr.'s office never closes for bad weather. If we get as much snow as they're predicting, though, it'll be tough even getting out of the driveway tomorrow.

I love my herbs and because I have very little space I need to plant them in amongst the garden in the right zones (sun/shade, moist/dry) Tricky!
