So, last night, as you all know, I am in my new house now, and it has an wood burning insert in the fireplace. It's a Quadra-fire voyager grand wood insert. I've never seen one or operated one before, so last night I decided to make a fire in it.
Well, lets just say my first attempt was not so good. I had the whole house filled up with smoke, the smoke detectors were going off, I had to open up all the doors, turn on all the exhaust fans, I had to get a fire extinguisher to put out the fire I had made. Oh boy, what a mess....
So, not to be deterred, I grabbed the laptop, went to youtube, and did a search of "how to make a fire in a Quadra-Fire wood insert". I watched several video's and I decided to make a second attempt at it, and I was successful....
Oh wow, get this, after I had it warmed up, I turned the blowers on, and it heated up my whole entire house, to the point where I started peeling off clothes. My oil-fired furnace never ran once during the wind and snow event last night...
Hmmmmm, I may have to remember that one for a date night with my honey~
Haha...love the story...and your idea for date night. If it works, give me the info about how I can install one of these fireplaces!
Haha...I have the feeling every married guy on here is going to be putting extra logs on the fire or turning their heaters up really high this weekend to see if it works. What's wrong with us?
"But baby, it's cold outside.......!!!":lol::lol::lol:
