Christmas Countdown - 2014

Sad news, my MIL had to have Billy put to sleep. He wasn't responding to any of the procedures the vet was trying. The vet told her he was suffering and that there really wasn't anything else to do.

Please keep my MIL in your thoughts and prayers, she is devastated by Billy's passing. He was nearly 16 years old.

God Bless her - I can't imagine what she's even going through. She's in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi gang...been spending some quiet evenings by the tree and really enjoying these 12 days of Christmas. No pressure to wrap, bake or be anywhere but where I am! I hope all of you are safe and warm. We are in an arctic blast in Wisconsin with still colder temps due on Monday and Tuesday. I know many of you are struggling in some pretty rough weather- take care friends.

Good to hear from you, momnan! Glad to hear you're enjoying the last of the Christmas season. I am as well. We still have our decorations up and we're continuing to watch Christmas movies and will until the kids and I feel it's okay. Stay safe and warm out there! Take care as well!

Snowflake, lots of talk of going ahead and proactively closing schools for Monday and Tuesday. So far though, no announcements of it.
I remember horribly cold temps in 1996 and forecasters are saying it will be as cold or colder than that...eek!
I hope you are feeling better...my youngest son is feeling lousy with a respiratory virus as well.

We are watching "Alias Boston Blackie" (1942)---it takes place on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So fitting with all the snow outside! Our tree is still up, so I turned on the lights an opened the curtain so passers-by could see it with the snow outside. It will be coming down this weekend or during the week. It will be the last of the decorations to be put away, except for the "winter lights" on the hedge out front. They'll have to wait until the temps come up a bit.

Good evening, MMC!

Just checking in for the final time tonight. Once I have things wrapped up the rest of the evening will be free. I have some planning to do and hopefully I will find the time to finish the book I am currently reading. It's too cold to go out and I don't want to leave Palmer alone for too long at night as she has been sneezing and coughing quite a bit this past week. If I can't sleep I am going to watch "The Year Without a Santa Claus" - Snow Miser's song has been stuck in my head all day. cheesy
