Virginia,

They just finished the stamping and it looks wonderful!!! It looks like we have slate out there! They will come back after the concrete cures to stain it. I can't get too close right now because the concrete sidewalks are still "wet," but as soon as that cures, too, I will get better pictures.

You're giving me some great ideas for my renos! Thanks

Okay, teacher talking here: Sometimes sad movies help us work through sadness and grief in other areas of our life so we don't keep it all bottled up. For example, when Old Yeller originally came out (yes, originally way back when, LOL), I went to the theater to see it and cried so much (I think I was in 5th grade). Our dog had just been killed by a car, and I was able to cry and work through my grief. I do have to say, though, that I had to keep telling myself that it was only a movie. I had to do the same thing the previous year when I went to see Love Me Tender and Elvis Presley's character died. Sheesh, I even did it when I went to see Gone With the Wind. Man, I must have been morbid, LOL! But, really, I was able to express my grief and became a better writer (I really only write for myself) because of those emotions.

I don't understand how people 'enjoy' watching sad movies. I steer clear of sad movies esp animal ones. I try to keep cheery... I think I feel too easily because just reading this I felt so bad for the poor dog. There was a news article recently from China where a stray dog sat and slept in the middle of the road next to its dead pal while cars whizzed passed and I cried

Made a few leaves and vines, not entirely happy with the shading so will touch that up

I agree with you

There are movies for every emotion.

And sometimes you want or need a certain genre, depending on what's going on in your life.

It's definitely a personal choice, and each movie is all about perception.

You are behind in your coffee drinking, LOL! What kind of coffee maker do you have? I love our Keurig!

I've been up a while now catching up on posts. The house is still quiet at 7.20am Saturday and I'm considering making my second coffee for the morning... hoping against hope it might improve my memory... or just because I like coffee!...QUOTE]

Thanks, FrostyTSM. We are busy today, have the Pinewood Derby tomorrow, and then will be watching football on Sunday. What about you? Even though I have no kitchen, I have been making goodies for us to have during the games and our nightly TV shows.

:merry:Good afternoon/evening everyone....hope yeah all are having a fantastic friday..have a great weekend everyone:merry:

Even though I don't like real crab, I love the fake stuff, LOL! I would make crab stew out of that! But, ya know, I honestly think I could eat real crab stew! Your lunch sounds yummy. What is in the stew you eat?

Lunchtime! the sandwich shop we always go to usually has crab stew on the menu during the winter. Good stuff!

Always love your work, Star! How was your Christmas? Did you do much baking?
thanks , I guess sometimes I am my own worst critic.

Yes, I had a wonderful Christmas. Got some baking done to hand out as gifts at family party. Had fun with families at the Bard doing gingerbread houses. Of course baking for my family. Wanted to do more cookies but could not find my Christmas cutters anywhere, found them all yesterday!
Oh well, with only 300 days to the season I can start all over again and this time make sure not to loose the cutters.

Love your idea of getting ideas for next season. Just as soon as the kitchen is completed, I will get out all the magazines from this season and start making plans!

I am reading a Cottage Journal holiday edition, and getting ideas for next season! ⛄✨

I am also burning some wax tarts- "Christmas morning latte"...mmmm!

Not sure if you've seen the Babe movies, but they have animals in them that are so cute. There is one scene that makes me cry, the one where the "injured" dog that gets around with the aid of a little wagon-type thingy, goes to heaven (dream) and has the use of all his legs. Even though this is a comedy, this makes me cry every time. I think that one is Babe in the City.

Sorry for your loss, Festive

It took me a long time to grieve Nita, our family dog. I still have a memory box of her that I open from time to time. She will always live in my heart, and I look forward to seeing her & Lady (first family dog) again one day.

((Hugs))

I believe that too, Festive. We lost our cat this summer. We had had her since 1997 and were devastated. Have you seen All Dogs Go to Heaven?

I feel sad for both of you just thinking about it. I was devastated after I lost my dog, Gretchen. So much that I have not the entertained the thought of having a pet again. I have to get over this though cause the kids would like a dog or cat at some point and it is unfair of me.

I believe animals go to heaven......:)

Star- I think your stuff looks great too!!!!

Meceka- Hope you are enjoying your evening!!!!

Seawaters- What time should we be there for the football party sunday?

There are many of us here that feel the same way, Dawg!

Aww he is just plain adorable! I just love my dogs and don't know what I would do without any one of them. Mine are getting up in age but I block out any thought of the day they will go because I think I will need to take a few weeks off work at least for bereavement and i'm not even joking!

You should have borrowed CAH's cookie cutters, LOL!

We are going to the Elks Lodge for goodies tonight (in about 20 minutes). I made pimiento cheese to take with us. I just sneaked a taste and it is divine!!! Hmmm. I might have to make some for Sunday's game!
