I took this picture when I was shoveling earlier. When my daughter was in preschool she brought this teeny tiny tree home in a coffee can. We planted it in the front yard ages ago and this is what it looks like now. It's grown quite a bit!

Well my wife was home sick today and I left the office early to pick my daughter up and take her to the doc. They both have the same thing. My wife is on the mend though so by week's end all should be back to normal.

Home and safe---I left the office around 4 p.m. and got home just as it was beginning to snow, and it was sticking to everything right away. Now I will worry until Mr. gets home. Thanks for all your good wishes for my safety!

Thinking of you all here, who are dealing with the storm. We got about 2 inches, so nothing really bad at all. It is getting pretty cold here again. Praying for safe travels for all and that everyone stays warm!

It has been a busy day off! I much prefer the relaxing ones!
Between doctor appointments, lab work, grocery shopping, and laundry, I am beat! :grin:

Looking forward to sleeping in & chilling out tomorrow!

Speaking of chilling out, it is brutally cold out there. The winds have picked up, and the snow has begun. I don't think we are supposed to get more than a couple inches overnight, but we are supposed to get snow every day for the rest of the week.

I think a movie and a fire are in order!

Hope you're all staying safe, cozy, and warm tonight. Hope those who are sick start feeling better soon~

Between you and HMG, I am drooling for soup! I love pumpkin soup! Will you share your recipe? Where do you get spiced Parmesan cheese? My SIL makes a good pumpkin soup and serves it with a dollop of la crema, green onions, and freshly cooked bacon. I didn't think I would like it at first, but all it took was one bite! Yummo on the bread! I went to the thrift store just before Christmas and bought a new-looking bread machine for $7.50!!! I haven't used it yet, but I might make some soup and homemade bread soon!

:It was fairly thick and spicy. I didn't write the recipe down as I cooked, but this is close:

Spray Dutch oven with olive oil spray and add the following:
1 large chicken breast, cut into chunks, generously sprinkled with ground ginger
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
Cook, stirring occasionally, until chicken is done.
Add 1 - 2 quarts chicken broth (kettle should be a bit over half full after addition) and 1/4 cup dried celery. Cover and simmer 1 hour.
Mix in 1/2 of a large can of pumpkin, a generous T of chipotle seasoning, and 1/2 cup of brown and wild rice. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally until rice is done and soup has thickened a bit.

Well it's been quite the day. Mom's migraine is getting better thankfully, so we didn't have to go to the doctor's for her to get a shot. My sister was also in a lot of pain this morning though so I ended up taking her to the ER instead. We all thought it was a kidney stone but the tests all came back negative. So the doctor at the ER thinks it's an ulcer. So they told her what to take and if it's not better in a couple of days, she is supposed to follow up with her regular doctor.

So needless to say, I didn't get anything done today. I also see that I am way behind on here. I'll try to get back here later and catch up but I won't make any guarantee's.

Oh, my, I hope the stuff your sister was told to take works! So glad your mom's migraine was better. Praying for both of them, and for you, too! Take care!
