Christmas Countdown - 2014

It's raining cats & dogs here, too. My nephew's birthday party is today, and he wanted me to bring the train. My dad made this train that you pull behind a golf cart or 4-wheeler, and little kids love it:

But, it's way too wet for that today. Poor little guy! I bet he'll have a good time at his party, anyway.

Thanks - looks like we'll just be heading home. EA has been coughing the past couple of days, now she is running a fever.

Boy, I had a tough night. Went to bed and was almost asleep when my son comes home with some friends. They are all pretty happy (if you get my drift) and my room is right next to the foyer where they talked VERY loud. They needed a lift, so, seeing as I hadn't alcohol in my system, mummy darling had to drive the wanderers... but not until my son had a refreshing shower. My daughter is going to be ropable when she wakes because the friends gathered near her bredroom to talk and she has an early shift!! Well, 1/2 hour after dropping them off and trying to go through my sleep routine again (I'm slightly insomniac) there is a bang on the door and my son is home again feeling unwell... drinking on an empty stomach in this heat will do that to you. After getting him settled in bed with a bucket I took a sleeping tablet and now I have woken sluggish and hot... not a good start to grocery day! Some sweet tea has helped a little to make the fortnightly menu but now I need to go through the cupboards to make the grocery list... bummer! Then I have to go out in this heat with the roiling masses!! Not looking forward to it!!

I'm sorry you had such a rough night and hope that your day is far better! Praying it cools down!

That happened to us after flooding. The council had an online pothole alert so the public could inform them and get them fixed top priority otherwise the roads would be impassable. We had whole roads sink and roads over waterways washed away. Unfortuantely people were driving on them but no fatalities that I can recall.

That's frightening!

Stay safe!!! The rain has started turning into snow north of here and should turn here with in the next hour or so. They are seeing that we will see 2 to 4 inches by morning.

They decided to try the train after all, so I aired-up all the tires and took it to the party. It's misting rain and 50° and those kids didn't care at all LOL!

My brother-in-law pulled the kids around, so took the opportunity to go to my brother's shop and work on the Camaro some more. It might take another year, but I am learning a lot.
