Christmas Countdown - 2014

I'm heading to bed soon.
Just a quick update on Maggie. The doctor says her lungs sound congested so we started her on an antibiotic, just in case she picked up an infection. They don't want to fiddle with any other medications at this point, until they're sure about what's causing the chronic coughing. I scheduled an echocardiogram for Friday so they can take a better look at her heart. I'll know more after the echo on Friday.

I am so frustrated with this place I am ready to quit, one of the things I was planning to bring up was the fact I feel like I am constantly ignored, hmmmmm, I can't figure out why I feel that way.

I cut my last post short, my wife needed the computer.

Anyway, I am trying to decide if I should buy "Yogi's First Christmas" on DVD, I have it on Video CD but those don't work on our DVD players, only the computer. I love that movie, it really brings back childhood memories, and it would be so much more convenient to pop it in the DVD player.

better go get my rest....that lil girl never stops!
 
200km round trip today for work with 2 presentations. Love country towns; so welcoming and they even sent me home with home made cake! Love home cooking!!!!

Happy Pines day gang. I know some of you are tired of winter but I still love it. It has been a great winter here in the mountains. Wonderful time of the year; no snakes, no bugs, no grass to cut, no weed eating and plenty of snowcream for dessert. Spring is coming though, we have started high school baseball. It has been kinda neat watching baseball with snow flurries in the air.

I'm still struggling to get into the Christmas countdown. Our son is a high school senior so I want time to pass very slowly. August 15 is move in day at Gardner Webb University. That will be a hard day and I'm not looking forward to it. Hate the thought of him moving out. The good news is he was awarded the President's scholarship so all his tuition is covered.

Well, the meeting with the county commissioners and the mayors of the others cities went about as well as I expected it to go...meaning not too good. The county has a plan to create a new fire department that is run by a committee made up of all four mayors and the county commission chairman. It sounds good to us, but the current fire department is run by the largest city, and they're unwilling to give up the authority. I believe they are planning to operate the old fire department independently from the county's new department. This will force we smaller towns to decide which department to allow to use our firehouses and trucks.

Hard feelings galore. If you guys every consider politics, make sure you don't have any friends already in.

Other than that, it's wet, cold & windy, and I don't feel a 100%.

Heard enough complaining? LOL Sorry, I'm just throwing myself a little pity-party. I'll be over it before lunch.

I don't know how you do it. I don't handle controversy well. It would be exciting though to be participating in change in your community.

I also went ahead a bought a season pass for the 14-15 ski season...so it was kinda sad to know it will be another 7 months or so before I get any turns in. I am leaving Friday morning very early so I may not get another chance to get on here before then, I wanted to tell everyone I will talk to yall when I get halfway across the globe! I am also going to curl up on the couch tonight with the family and pets and watch "scrooge" one last time this winter, so I am getting very sentimental tonight with everything because it seems like it's the last time for everything this season!
