Christmas Countdown - 2014

Merry Friday!

Good Morning everyone. It is a rather nice morning so far. it is dry and the sun is out after heavy rain all night. I am taking the boys out in a bit to the shops and then to get their hair cut. I hope my little one will sit still for the hair dresser !

I don't really know how we got to Friday so quickly but it's been a good week. My eldest is enjoying his spring break form school. Mr. Festive is off next week which is wonderful.

I always organise an egg hunt for the boys on Easter Sunday so I need to start getting things together for that. I can't wait to see their little faces when they wake up and realise the Easter Bunny was here LOL!

Ok well I must dash. I am sorry I have not had the time to read and reply to posts.

My mom's cats like to come in her room and start knocking things off the dresser in the middle of the night. They get wild, don't they? I hope you get some sleep.

Bentley woke me up again. I'm in for it. I don't know how I'm supposed to break this habit. This cat has so much energy. Maybe he'll calm down one day. He was running laps around the house at 5:00 a.m. I went to pick him up to calm him down and he had the audacity to hiss at me. He's nuts!

Really nice here yesterday with plenty of sun, pleasant temps in the 70's and no precipitation.
Lots of pollen, but it's worth it to get rid of those lingering winter conditions!
Right now, we show 57 degrees here in our part of central NC.

Hope yall doing good....just cleaned up Facebook....got rid of some trash...people get on there and say negative things about school, me, etc....and I no longer choose to look at it...think I'm going to try to get Facebook to allow me to run a new ad campaign...

Facebook.....the place where kids go to see their parents do things those same parents tell them not to do.

Facebook....the place where adults go to say negative things about people who they won't pick up the phone to call and try to solve problems.

Makes me sooooo stinking mad. Wish just once I didn't have to be politically correct. I would love one time to just respond and call them out. My wife see it...and that's not fair. Arrrrrrrrrgh.......

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday! YAY!!!!

We had a great time going out for our friends birthday last night. I'm just a little sleepy today - TGIF! Mexican was delicious!!! I did get a 2 1/2 mile walk in before we left, so I didn't feel quite as guilty eating soooo many chips with salsa! :lol: And we were right, our friend who was sick & didn't get to come along is really mad that we went out without her! Ah well - she's going to have to get over it! Ridiculous! I don't mean that to sound cold hearted, it's just the same ol same ol with her!

It rained a lot overnight! Was still raining this morning but it's stopped now & it's supposed to turn into a beautiful day! Our back yard is a mud puddle again! And it was just starting to dry out a little! I'm not sure if we are heading to the lake tonight or not. It's going to be really wet & muddy there. I might take a drive out there this afternoon & check it out! Need to go to the grocery & let my sisters dogs out this afternoon too. (can you tell I'm already ready to get out of work & let the weekend begin? )

How old is Bentley? Usually they are crazy until at least 1 - 2 years of age. I hope Bentley lets you rest soon!

I am in shock right now! We just had a visit from my ex husband (father to both my grown children) and ex mother-in-law. That is probably stirring up bad images but not to worry! We are all still very good friends!

My ex mother-in-law has a beautiful Christmas village that she use to set up every year but hasn't bothered with it in the past few Christmases. Very huge set up with mechanical parts, working fountains and waterfalls. She said she is giving the whole thing to me! She has 4 grown kids, numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren but she wants me to have it!!! She knows how much I love Christmas and said I am the one who will get it because she knows how much I will cherish it! It will not be a conflict with anyone, they don't mind me having it either. It will stay in the family and eventually her great grandchildren will inherit it.

I am so touched by this gesture. It has made my day!

Now I have to figure out where am I going to set all this up at??? I have a large collection already. I will come up with something!

That's just awesome! She picked the best person to have it! I agree - can't wait to see pictures!

Homemakingirl, I have been "posting and running" the past couple of days and want to know how little Maggie is doing? Not sure if there is any updates and I missed them.

Holiday, how is Buster? I hope well!!!

Buster is still hanging in there. He sleeps a lot & circles a lot. Part of me knows we should bring him on his one way trip to the vet, but then he eats so well & he doesn't act like he's in pain. Such a hard decision to make. Thanks for asking!

My cousin had to take some things back to Walmart and do a bit of shopping and since she passes my house on the way, I went along. Good thing, too! I found a Christmas shirt in the dollar clearance rack. Score!

Good evening!
I'm going to turn in soon. I'm extra tired tonight, Bentley woke me up at 3:00 in the morning and I tossed & turned until I finally got out of bed at 5:00. I don't know what I'm going to do with him. He's been jumping on my night table around the same time every night and starts making weird noises, some kind of cat jibberish. If I close my bedroom door he scratches it and then Maggie starts barking. I can't win! Speaking of Maggie, her veterinarian called me back tonight and told me about a specialist I can bring her to. I already made an appointment, I'm bringing her Monday afternoon. Maybe he'll be able to help her with the chronic coughing.

Elizabeth's show was WONDERFUL! I don't think I'm wrong when I say that she is the prettiest girl on the stage, and the best dancer, too! I wish I could take pictures in the theater so I could show y'all, but you'll just have to take my word for it.

She has shows tonight, tomorrow night and a Sunday matinee.

We got home about midnight last night, and the only coffee I have here at work is decaf. Maybe if I drink 3 pots of that, I'll get a little jolt, eh?
