Here in Ontario beer and alcohol have always been sold in specialty stores, never in convenience or grocery store.
Many are working to change that and the beer stores are now lauching these ads..

I know in the States you sell in convenience and grocery stores, is selling to minors a problem there?

That's cool!!!!! They canceled the air show they use to have every year here because of lack of funding. I miss it!!! It use to be so cool to see the blue angels fly right over our apartments!!!

I would love to see them over my house!

I am sorry they canceled the shows!

I guess you need to come down some time! We use to have just one big air show per year, this year 2 air shows! One of them just now and the other one will be in October with the Thunderbirds!

The second half of their career starting with "Rubber Soul" is what really got me hooked, specifically the song "Nowhere Man."
The psychedelic stuff is what has shaped my taste of music now, learning and exploring the great sounds of the Beatles and others like, The Move, Status Quo, etc...

My opinions on other Beatle things:
My favorite album is "Abbey Road"
Song: "Strawberry Fields Forever"
Best album: "Revolver"

Those are all great, of course!
The first song from the Beatles that got me hooked was, In My Life. My brother is the one who got me started listening to them and told me to hear that song. Now going on 30+ years of being a die hard fan!

Speaking of Abbey Road, the last 2 times I saw Paul he did the Golden Slumbers Medley as part of his encore. It was amazing!!!

I know!!!! I missed the half off of everything sale the first Saturday of this month and I'm going to miss it this coming weekend too!!! I might be missing all kinds of good Christmas cd's and Santa's!!!

I missed the original post but what sale are you talking about??? I want in on it!

Things are getting dicey here....tornadoes are east of us....they have leveled two towns...Vilonia, AR and Mayflower, AR.

I haven't finished reading all post but I sure hope you are okay!!!!

Good evening,

Busy day at work, got a lot accomplished.

Today is my wife and I's, 12 wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's been 12 years already. She surprised me with a new Bruins hat as a gift, she knows I have been looking for a new one for a while now.

I am ready for sleep now, one of the busiest, exhausting weeks of the year at work is upon me.

Merry Monday!!! I hope everyone had a good weekend and you are all ready for the week ahead. I have a busy day planned so I hnly browsed the last page of posts. Praying for all in the path of bad weather.

I am just having a quick coffee. I have just put on some laundry but that will have to be it for housework today because I have a lot of work to get through. I need to stay focused today , it is so easy to get distracted when you are on the computer......

At the start of the year I had planned to try to keep up with this thread and follow some of the conversations taking place, but it moves way too fast for me!! I haven't posted for a while but I still visit often and just LOVE the Christmas spirit that abounds. Hope everyone is having a good day.

I just turned CNN on and am starting to see the footage of the tornadoes that hit last night. My thoughts and prayers are with all who are affected.
It is going to be sunny today with a high of 63 degrees. I'm going to get out and enjoy the weather while I can. Rain will be moving in by tomorrow and will be here for most of the week. I think I will take my walk today at a lake that is nearby.
My daughter has a routine doctor appointment early this morning. Other than that it will be a typical day for me. I have a couple of errands to run after the doctor appointment then back home for daily chores.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

I know that is how it is in Texas, really not sure of the other states. I don't drink but I know they do enforce checking ID's or you can be in some serious trouble if caught selling to minors.

Second travel alert of the new year for the Crowns.



We are voyaging to our coastal cottage early Wednesday morning to start preparing it for the rental season which begins in June.

As such, a loyal, intrepid and dependable Countdown Volunteer will be needed for three mornings: this coming Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

these stores here already have that in place for tobacco and lottery, they can loose their license to sell if they do not check ID. I think the beer and alcohol stores are just worried about loosing revenue.

We are under a moderate risk of tornado's but not as big of a risk as those down south. The picture's coming out of Arkansas this morning are just heartbreaking. I need to sit down this morning and make a list of things I need to do this week before I leave. I guess I should put pack at the top of the list. Right now, I just have piles of stuff all over my bedroom. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

Good rainy morning MMC! It is pouring down rain right now! Better to have a rainy Monday than a rainy Saturday or Sunday! I hope you all had a great weekend! I haven't caught up on posts at all, but I'll see what I can do about that!

Friday night we had no plans. We stayed out at the lake, Jim went mushrrom hunting & when he got back we walked to the tavern up the street to grab a bite to eat, hung out with the neighbors. Saturday we sat outside most the afternoon, birthday party for our nieces Saturday night, then we met friends/neighbors back at the lake. Yesterday was our friends sons bday lunch, then I sat outside at our friends house while Jim went mushroom hunting - no luck finding mushrooms in 4 woods. Hopefully this warm rain will make them pop! And here we are - back to Monday! This should be a quick week - Tuesday night I'm going with my sister/Mom to see God's Not Dead. Thursday night we are taking our friend Teresa out for her birthday! Tonight I should do some cleaning, but this rain makes me want to watch a movie & nap! Lol!

back from doctor, turns out it was all in my head !
Ear, throat and sinus infection. He put me on cefprozil for 10 days and I have to come back if not better by then.

I hope you are feeling better now CS!!! Take care!!

Good evening all.
Today has been a rough one.
I know we all have so many people to pray for. May I ask you to include a young couple in a terrible accident last night? This married couple were dear dear friends of my daughter's. Their car hit a stopped semi in a construction zone and my daughter's girlfriend, age 33, was killed immediately, her husband is on life support with severe head injuries and not expected to make it.
They have a 2 year old and a 4 week old infant who were not in the vehicle.
These young people were beloved by many. Please remember this family in your prayers if you have the chance. Thanks so much!

Oh my gosh Momnan! That's terrible! Sending prayers up & sending hugs to you & your family!

Hope you all have had a great day! DH and I went out for dinner tonight, then tomorrow we're headed to NYC with my parents, my sister, and her boyfriend on a bus trip.
