Looks like they have removed the severe warning for today. That's ok with me!!! We did get quite a bit of needed rain though! When I got back from lunch we were out of power. I was hoping it would stay off & I could go home ~ no such luck. :lol:

My sister got to the office this morning to discover that we had been broken into last night. Fortunately, something spooked the robbers and all they got was 20 dollars that was in petty cash. They could have gotten our 3 new laptops, printers, fax, scanner, copier, and myriad drug samples, but like I said, something scared them off. We have a metal door, which they actually BENT, and our heavy inner door (made of wood) was cracked and broken so that they could get past the deadbolt. Not sure what scared them off, but we're glad it wasn't any worse. The policeman that came was very sympathetic, and the crime scene worker was very thorough and helpful. She suggested several things to look for that we hadn't thought of (all of which were unbothered, thank goodness.), and we all had our fingerprints taken. So, now we're sitting around waiting for the Installer of Doors to show up, along with the Providers of ADT (which we are now going to have). I know it seems silly that we didn't have it before this, but honestly I've been working for this Dr. for 21 years now, and we've never had this sort of problem before. I guess times getting harder is affecting everyone.

Awe MerryBells I'm sorry this happened at your office. That has to leave you with such an icky feeling! Times are scary!!! I'm glad they didn't get anything else!!

Found out that my union is allowing us to take an assortment of online courses for free. Our families can take them too. What a great opportunity. I looked through the list, [ and it is a long one] and finally decided to take a work related one for now. I started "Health & Safety in the Food & Retail Sector" I can take it on line and work at my own pace.

That is awesome that you can take free online classes! Enjoy!

I am addicted to it, I have it for the Wii, the regular version for the Kindle, and the sports version on Kindle.
No one likes playing games like Trivial Pursuit with me, since they all call me Rain Man for my ability to remember useless facts.

I use to watch it every day. When I was in college I was telling my dad that several of my classes and my work schedule made it impossible for me to watch the show so he bought me the handheld version. One of these days I am going to find where I stored it and play again!

What a handsome devil!

This is the first time I met Yogi. He is so friendly. He just wants to be close to someone, a true love bird! Skittles makes me a little bit nervous. He's a parrot and he can bite very, very hard! He lived with us for quite some time so we've all been bit at some point. But we just have to be careful. He's a real character. He tries to talk, makes kissing sounds and laughs. He's too funny!

He sounds wonderful! Growing up I shared a room with my sister Sheree. She bought a parakeet from Woolworth's and had her for years. Sammy only learned to say our names, but she combined them into "Shmary" ~ it was so cute!
