Christmas Countdown - 2014

[Holiday]

Good Morning, MMC!!!!! It's still dreary here this morning but the sun should break through this afternoon and starting heating us back up into the 80's. There was some good news on the news for people like me though. The long range forecast models show that we likely won't above 90 degree's expect for a few times this summer. Woohoo!!!! After the last couple of summers, I'm excited about that!!!! Not to much going on here today. I've already been to everyone's favorite place. The dentist. Now I just need to get some stuff done around the apartment and look through the grocery ads and make out my shopping list. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

Good morning MMC!! It's pouring down rain right now. It wasn't supposed to rain - I looked on the radar & there is one tiny dot of green right on top of us. That little tiny dot is putting down a lot of drops!!! Feels a little cool this morning too.



I just ran home to check on Miss Grace - she was looking pretty sad in her cage. She didn't eat anything - not even her treats! I did get her to go outside for a bit though. Poor girl. Hopefully by tonight she'll be doing better!



Last night I made cinnamon rolls. 1 pan I baked & iced them & froze them. The other pan I baked 1/2 way & froze them. I read if you bake them 1/2 way, freeze them - when you are ready to eat them, you unthaw & bake the other 1/2 of the time. That would be soooo much easier at the lake. So this is an experiment. :smile: BUT the house smelled so good & then we couldn't eat any. :lol: We will enjoy them at the lake this weekend where there are more people to share with!!

Merry Morning everyone. How are you all? I hope all is well. I stayed up late last night working and ended up forgetting Tooth Fairy duties!!! Yikes I had to spin a tale this morning as to why the tooth fairy didn't show up.......eeek!!!!!

I am exhausted already and so much to do. We have dry, sunny weather here and it feels great. It may reach 19 degrees today - that is roasting for us!!

World cup starts tonight !!!!!!!!!!!!!! However due to the time difference it will be tricky following the games.

we had a very loud thunderstorm come through here last night, the rain was great and very much needed by the farmers.

It is election day here in Ontario so as soon as work is done I will be heading to the polling station to cast my vote.

Hope work goes well and that the polls aren't to busy when you get there today!!!!

Good Morning Christmas Friends!!!

I have my 3 grandchildren for the summer and we are already having fun. The weather is unusually mild, which I love!!! Since it has been nice my mom and I took the kids to the Arboretum Monday and took a picnic lunch with us then to McDonald's so the kids could get some ice cream and play.

Yesterday we stayed around the house. I have the kids enrolled in a summer reading program at the library and they can win prizes logging in the hours they read each week. We read some books and played on the old Nintendo 64. We had a Mario Kart competition. My oldest grandson beat us all!!!

The local library have a lot of events for the summer that we plan to get involved in. We are also going to take advantage of as much outdoor activities while the weather is nice.

Yes and no, he's home (in Maryland) but did not stay at the house last night. He had to report the Middle River base in Maryland, first thing this morning, so he stayed at his girlfriends apartment last night since she is about 50 miles closer to it than us. He was wiped out last night (since he was up at 3am the night before), so he come home, hugged his pop, ate dinner, took a nap, chatted for a little while and then he left. He's growing, putting on weight and he's taller than me now. My oh my, my boy is slowly growing into a man right before my eyes....

Glad you got to spend some time catching up with him last night. I'm sure you are extremely proud of him.

You would have had your work cut out for you to cheer her up last night. She was NOT a happy girl. Poor thing!!! She threw up twice & whined around & laid around giving sad eyes:

Aww, poor girl. I hope she is doing better this morning. Give her a hug for me!!!

I will let ya know about the cinnamon rolls. My sister asked me to bake some for the morning after my nieces engagement party. I'm just trying to figure a way to do this without having to bake them all in the morning & then running them over to them. She doesn't want to have to bake them in the morning. Sooooo - lake people are guinea pigs! Tee hee!

Some of you may know that Paul McCartney came down with a virus in Japan before he was just about to start his tour. He had to cancel the whole tour there and in Korea. He was suppose to start his USA tour this Saturday and we have tickets for his concert Monday. He has now had to postpone the first part of his tour until he is completely well so his concert here is now scheduled for October. I was really looking forward to the concert next week but his health is way more important! I just want him well! We will see him in October!

Bummer! You totally have the right attitude though. Glad you guys will still be able to see him in October though.

Well, at 1:00 today, my son's flight is supposed to arrive in Baltimore at BWI airport. He's been at Sheppard Air Force Base, for just about 3 months now, so, needless to say, I cannot wait to see him later this afternoon; I've missed him.

Lisa is preparing a really nice home cooked dinner for him tonight, I got his car all prepped and ready for his return and his bedroom is spotless. He will be stationed in Baltimore County on active duty for another 3 more months and then he should be switched back to an Air National Guard status (weekend warrior).

Welcome home to your son! I bet you guys were so happy to see him. Tell hi thank you for his continued service!

Not much to report today. It's going to be hot and humid again, and I have a thousand things to do. Boring. I need some excitement.

Good morning!
It's going to be another cloudy day with showers off and on, temperatures around 70 degrees.
My daughter's doctor called this morning to tell us she tested positive for strep. I'm glad she already started the antibiotic, she's feeling a tiny bit better every day. She's lucky she doesn't have to go in to work until Saturday so she gets a couple of more days to rest.
I have some more shopping to do today, I just have to pick up a few more thing for my daughter's birthday which is this weekend. Other than that I'll be working on some chores around the house. I'm hoping to get some down time at some point, it's been so hectic lately!

We are going to head out and go to a couple of flea markets and them maybe to our community splash pad. That might be a little much for her, but we will go see.

I've got a day and a half left on my first vacation and it's time to relax some. No more work for me until Monday.
