been in similar situation, it is rough.
Right now there is a woman at work that feels it is her sworn duty to report everything about everyone. She wrote me up for asking who was looking after break rotation that day. Who knew asking that question was a felony!

I suggest you keep a detailed log of everything, time, comments made etc. Keep any written notes, emails text messages from and to him. It is easier to present your case when you have hard evidence rather than just he said/she said.
Your past record speaks well for you.

A written log is a good idea, I have my employees who have my back. He has been telling me things that "they" were saying, which turned out to be a portion of the lies. They cannot stand this guy either and try to avoid him at all costs.

That really stinks xmas. I'm sorry he is doing that to you! He sounds like a *stallar* guy! NOT! Sounds like he is the one they need to get rid of before he chases off all the good employees!

It's too bad we have lost many of our best because of him.
