Ha! Yeah, Georgia is in the Bible belt, and Bellville is in the buckle!

Here I am every Sunday going to church then straight to work! What kind of example am I setting? Lol! You know what, our place of business does not open until afternoon on Sundays for those who want to go to church. The rest of the week early in the morning. I think that was smart for the owner to decide those hours for Sunday! It works for me!

I just found out that today is International Left-Hander's Day. That's especially significant here at MMC as a result of some scientific research I did here a couple years ago, indicating that, while the actual world norm of left-handers is close to 10%, almost 37% of MMC voters are left-handed.

I'm not big on statistics, but that's a huge increase from the average.

Interesting! How did I miss that thread?! I just took the poll to add to the righty! =)

Thank you so much. I can't believe the pictures and videos I'm seeing on the local news. Some areas are flooded worse than after Hurricane Sandy. I'm watching the news right now and they are showing someones back yard that is flooded so bad, the water is level with the top of their above ground pool. It's insane. And that is in my town. I am so thankful we are alright here. We have some water in the basement, I went down and the floor is squishy so I know it was starting to come up, our pump is running non-stop. My husband still hasn't come home, the last time I spoke with him he said he was able to get in to his shop, several of his machines were under water. I'm not sure what they're going to do, what a nightmare!

I've seen some pics on the news and it looks terrible. I saw where one part of the island got 13 inches of rain and 5 of those were in one hour. That is crazy.

Praying for you all!! Stay safe [emoji172]

We had torrential downpours all evening and in to this morning. The rain is finally letting up however we have terrible flooding on the south shore of the island. My husband took a ride to his shop to assess the damage and there are several machines under water. What a mess. There are roads closed, cars stranded, boats overturned. Hopefully it will begin to recede now that the rain has stopped. I don't plan on going anywhere, I had an appointment for a routine eye exam but the office is closed because of the weather. I'll just be working on some chores around the house and I have a few phone calls to make. I hope everyone is well and has a good day!

I saw the news earlier this evening about some parts of the US being flooded so badly! I am glad you are safe but so worried about other people who are affected. I heard that Detroit is one of those places which is affected the most and I have a cousin living there. Luckily, I got a message from her saying that she is alright but the city is still experiencing severe damage. To be honest, such weather patterns scare me a lot. If it is so bad already, it is kinda frightening to think of what is going to be like in the future.

Good evening everyone!

Hope you all had a good day.
I had a very nice chat with my cousin today. Nearly one hour long over the phone. It was really nice. I haven't seen her since January so I am really looking forward to my trip to Vilnius to see her. ^^
It is kinda late here already so I guess I will see you all tomorrow.
Best wishes!

Wow, that sounds significant!

I'm not a leftie myself, but both my grandfathers were left-handed, so I may have the gene. I sometimes say I'm recessively left-handed.

Goodnight, Solice!!!!!

Good evening, MMC!

Good evening, MMC!

I hope this finds everyone doing well! Didn't even come close to catching up on here, but I tried. cheesy

While on the way into town this past weekend I noticed that the trees are already changing color; today it has been cool enough I actually used the oven and made mint chocolate muffins. I never use the oven in August because it heats the house up way too much. So loving this cooler summer! However, the news is that there is another Polar Vortex on the way in September. I don't think there will be snow where I live, but I still need to get some winterizing done and soon!

Looked at a potential place to put the store. Nice place, but there isn't as much traffic as my current location. The rates are good and all, but all new display pieces would be needed and not sure if the budget could handle such a risk right now. At the farm market I frequent every year a quart of tomatoes was five dollars. I could not believe it! In this area, prices are going up all the time. If the spot is available next year and things turn around a bit, I just might take a risk.

Not much else is going on, just busy with work and some family matters, good and bad. Makes for long days and not much time to get caught up on things.

I finished most of the chores I wanted to do, but there is still some organizing and paperwork to get done yet tonight so I will bid all of you a MERRY night!

Good luck with finding a location for the new store!

Good evening, friends!

Hope you're having a wonderful night so far!!
