Once again, thank you all.

It was a rough day today, lots of tears shed. The wake and funeral won't be until Sunday & Monday. My grandfather is struggling, he has said he wished it was him that went first. He stayed with my grandmother all day yesterday holding her hand the whole day while she was in a coma, he didn't get up once, even to use the restroom. I am at such a loss right now.

My sister will be coming in on Friday, it has been a few years since we've seen her. I just wish it was under different circumstances.

Thanks again, your support means everything to me.

We sell Farmers Almanac at our job and the customers buy them up. It's an interesting little book!

I buy one each year when the new one shows up at the supermarket. I enjoy the various articles, the essays, and the little weather forecasting poems. It's one of the unmistakable signs of fall!

Yesterday was bitter sweet. I had all my grandchildren over yesterday for the last time this summer. Their dad is off work for a few days and they start school on Monday. I will miss not having them all the time but then again this will be a chance to catch up on things around the house.

My mom treated us all to Mexican food yesterday so we all enjoyed a big lunch and had a great time. I felt a lot better yesterday and had a good appetite.

It's not like I will never see the kids again! I will be keeping them after school until their parents get off work. I will just miss not being able to do the fun things like we have been doing all summer long. They will get vacation days and we always have our special Christmas outing each year with each child.

I hope you all have a Merry Day!!!

Good morning everyone. Just saw the Old Farmers Almanac forecast for the upcoming winter. We live in the far west of NC. Only about 5 miles from the TN line, (as the crow flies). I sure hope their forecast is right for us. They are calling for much below norm temps and slightly above normal snow. That would be a perfect winter, cold & snow. Here is a link to their forecast.

Our son's new glasses just came in so the wife & I have the perfect excuse to drive down to Gardner Webb Univ this weekend and see him.

Glad you get to spend so much time with the grandkids. Not a fan of August with kids starting back to school and off to college.

When we lived in Carrollton, we'd go to Joe T Gracia's in Fort Worth for Mexican food. Loved it.

Beautiful day in the big apple today. Spent the whole morning and afternoon in Battery Park and on the renovated Governors Island in the harbor between Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Could not have asked for better weather in a more perfect location!

Good Morning, MMC!!! It's going to be a hot, stormy day here with a good chance of finally breaking that 90 degree mark for the first time this summer. Boo!! Nothing to big on the agenda today. Just staying inside this morning and then I may have to take mom to get her ultrasound this afternoon if my sister can't go with her. I just have to wait and see. Praying for your friends/family, Holiday! {{{HUGS}}}

I'm so glad Gracie didn't suffer any ill effects from eating the brownies! My dad's dog, Bruno, could eat just about anything that was on the forbidden list of foods for dogs. Not that we gave him the tidbits, he was a big old "Hoover" and no matter how careful, someone would occasionally drop a morsel.

I hope all is going well with the construction at your place; looking forward to seeing pictures (of Gracie, too!!!)!

Finally home!!! Of course, we walked away from the day with another 4 appointments and a referral to yet another new doctor. I don't think it will ever end.

Oh man - isn't that always the story?? I don't know how Mom/Dad keep track of what doctor they are seeing what day. Hope you find some answers!

I'm so happy to hear Gracie is alright! Molly once found a plastic Easter egg that was filled with chocolate, she got it opened and ate it all. Thankfully, she was fine. After that I started counting how many Easter eggs I hid, this way I knew if the girls found them all!!!

They just love those things they aren't supposed to have!!! Thanks HMG! Our friends are doing much better as the week is going on & kids are back in school. Their middle daughter is taking it the hardest - poor girl. Bud slept with her. And the youngest daughter is just begging for a puppy. :smile:

Good morning MMC!!! I didn't get a chance to log on here at all yesterday. My day was incomplete! But very eventful! I have 2 holes cut through our basement walls & a the bricks are cut out where our window is going to become a doorway. I have a floor to the new room & the crew was there with 3 guys to start on walls today....but by 10am, it was POURING outside. So they probably didn't get a lot done! Go figure! I also have all cabinets installed & the countertop guy was there to laser measure last night. He said it will be 2-3 weeks until they arrive. I LOVE the cabinets!!! He did such an amazing job! We just did a marble counter in the bathroom & it had a bubble in it, so they took that back & will bring a new one! Other than that, it went off pretty much w/o a hitch. I don't know how those 2 guys carried our island in. It's HEAVY...And all in 1 piece! Good thing they are young. LOL! Countertop guy said our island top will weigh 600 lbs! EEK! I was supposed to go out for Mexican with my sisters & Mom last night, but countertop boy was running late so I missed it! But they delivered Mexican to Jim & I so they could check out the cabinets. It all worked out!

Ok, I've rambled enough. Off to catch up on some more posts! (hopefully!) I hope all is well with all of you!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I'm trying to finish up a couple things here in the office before I head to Charlotte.

My brother has asked me to help him sell a race engine on the internet, so I posted it in a racing buy/sell/trade site, and there's already a buyer. But this guy in a sailor at sea, and he wants to use Paypal to pay for it, and send a courier to pick it up.

I've used Paypal to pay for things before, but never used it to collect. And 6this guy is in a hurry to buy it before anyone else buys it, so he's insisting that we take the ad down and get this going. But I'm going out of town! Grrrr.

I'll post again from Crown's neck of the woods. Actually, it's a pretty long ride the Raleigh from Charlotte, but it's the same state, anyway. I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Good evening,

We got some bad news today, my aunt called and told us my grandmother is in the hospital. She is going to pass basically anytime now according to the Dr. We are all devastated, family members from across the country are already booking their flights in. We thought we had at least a few more months with her, she has been in the hospital since Wednesday, the day after we visited her. My grandfather is in denial, and not dealing well. They have been married for 68 years, I can't imagine what he is going through right now.

Please keep us, especially my grandfather, in your thoughts and prayers.

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry to read this xmas! Sending lots of hugs, & thoughts & prayers to you & your family! 68 years is amazing. How hard to let go!

I don't know how you do it! You are such a good daughter and grandma to put them first. I am not sure if I could do that. You always seem to have some fun "adventures" where you live!

I woke up feeling great yesterday then about an hour after I posted that on here I started feeling awful again and it continued all day long. Even feeling bad we all managed to get out of the house, my mom, grandkids and I all went to the Perot Museum for their Dinosaur Exhibit and 3D movie before it ends September 1st. We had a good time even though I wasn't feeling too great.
