Good morning everyone!

Happy Labour Day Monday! Strange to hear, isn't it? I hope you've all enjoyed the final last weekend of summer and are prepared for the "ber" months to takeover our lives for the foreseeable future. Fortunately, that is certainly something we've all been looking forward to throughout the year.

To celebrate the final day of "summer," I will be hitting the links with a few very good friends. I haven't golfed all year, but what better time to start than now?! We'll see how awful this round goes. I'm excited to play though!

Well, time to make some breakfast. I have to head out at noon and Kim wants some breakfast.... so do I! Have a great Monday, everyone!

Good morning, and happy September! School and uni starts today in Lithuania although my academic year in Scotland begins on 22nd only. It's such a long wait for me because I've never been a fan of long holidays. Going to visit my aunt for her birthday in late afternoon.

Happy Labor Day everyone! Hope you're enjoying this last weekend of summer 2014! Still cannot believe how fast it went (doesn't it always?).

Today begins the quick dive into Fall! This time next week cooler weather will prevail here, football season will be in full swing, and we'll be on our way to Halloween (and then Thanksgiving and the Holiday Season shortly after!)

Days to the Season: 73
Days to Christmas Day: 115

Yes, Folks.
The begining of September sees us down to just 15 days until the
100-day Christmas Day Milestone and the begining of double-double digit count numbers.
Just 2 weeks from tomorrow, in fact.
Wow!


Warm and humid again.
But with the new month comes new hope of moderating humidity in the not too distant future.
We have started off this new week at a muggy 75 degrees in this neck of the MMC woods.

Good morning!
Well the weather doesn't look too good for today, we are expecting showers off and on. I planned on grilling for dinner so I'm hoping it clears up by this evening.
I spoke with my daughter yesterday and she is so homesick. She told me she's had a stomach ache since we left her there on Friday. I know it's going to take time, it's a big adjustment. Classes started today so she will be busy now, hopefully she will get in to a routine and be fine.
And the preschool job starts tomorrow, we have a staff meeting and then we'll be setting up the classrooms.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

This month Christmas Blossoms should open! And my local Christmas store opens Friday!

I am so excited about the "Bers"!!!!! I am ready for some cooler weather!

FYI for those who like to do fall decorating outdoors.

Bales of Hay vs. Bales of Straw:

Most people instantly want to buy hay but straw is more sturdy for decorating, more weather resistant and a bit prettier because it has a richer color than hay. Hay tends to mold easily too when placed outdoors due to rain, snow, etc.

We sell both at my job and it's our biggest time of selling straw this time of year. A lot of people come in asking for hay but when we ask what they need it for and it's for decorating we tell them the difference between both. After showing the customers both they agree the straw looks nicer.

Happy Labor Day, MMC!!!!!!! It's going to be a warm day here with a high of 85 and some strong storms moving in this afternoon. We aren't going to do anything special here this year. I might just grill out for lunch if the weather allows me too. It just doesn't seem the same without the telethon on anymore. I also need to run a few errands. My sister wants me to run into Joann fabric's to pick up some rainbow loom bands for my niece's stocking since they have them on sale. Plus since I'm going to be right across the street, I'm going to run to my favorite store, Harbor Freight. I might stop by walmart too and look for a couple of new tshirts. My family back in Sugar's neck of the woods are having a family reunion on the 13th. We have been talking about going but no one wants to actually make the final decision. Right now, I think we are. That will probably change 20 times between now and the end of the week. I'm going to start preparing as if we are going though. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy your Labor Day, U.S. friends! I'm enjoying reading about your plans.

It may be September here, but Mother Nature didn't get the memo. It's supposed to be hot and sticky this week (after the cool, comfortable August we had). Yesterday evening I was startled when I was watching TV and the screen was taken over by a tornado warning. Mr. was a few towns over visiting his mother, so I made ready to dash into the basement at the first sign, but nothing happened, thank goodness, just a little rain.

Mr. is on call for his office today (bummer!), so we'll just stay in and have some sandwiches later for lunch. Tomorrow will be back to work---it's usually busy between Labor Day and the holidays, so it'll be heads down and back to the grind. It makes the holidays even sweeter when they come around.

Happy Labor Day, MerryCarey! So glad to hear you guys are safe. That is scary. It is a bummer that Mr. is on call, but hoping you can spend the whole day together. Enjoy.
