Unexpected house guests delayed me this morning but I'm back on the boards and pleased to present the latest count figures for you viewing pleasure:

Days to the Season: 43

Days to Christmas Day: 85.



And today's numbers come with this bonus bit of information -- we are but FIVE short days away from the Home Stretch Milestone to Christmas Season 2014!

Nice calm day yesterday. A bit cool but no rain or wind to mar things. Should be another good one today before rain moves in tomorrow evening.

We have advanced up to 72 degrees here at this hour.

Just got off the phone with Brandi and she knows how I love all things Halloween so she nominated me to do her "Halloween"/fall bulletin board over the weekend so it will be there when the kids come back Monday. She teaches at a private school and loves it so far, although the pay is not as high as public,she says for the most part the kids are better and the biggest thing is the student/teacher ratio and that more than compensates. Anyways I am about to take a nap while the kids are down before I get up for late lunch then get ready for work! Have a good midday everyone!

She teaches at a private school and loves it so far, although the pay is not as high as public,she says for the most part the kids are better and the biggest thing is the student/teacher ratio and that more than compensates. Anyways I am about to take a nap while the kids are down before I get up for late lunch then get ready for work! Have a good midday everyone!

Happy Thursday! Waiting to see what the workload will be like today.

I have my flu shot. Germs and viruses, back off and stay away!

With the damp, cool. cloudy weather, I'm still wishing I could be home working on Christmas playlists and making gingerbread and watching movies. Oh, well, I can do some of that on the weekend---which will be here soon!

P.S. Got some cinnamon-cream creamer at the store last night and tried it in a cup of tea. Mmmmmmm. Very nice!

Good morning mmc! IT's a COLD 40F outside right now...It's funny that the first cool shot of the Autumn makes 40F feel so cold but in 2 months 40 will feel warm! It's suppose to moderate this weekend,lows will still be in the 40's but the highs will eventually get up in the 70's in the afternoons! Perfect early fall weather if you ask me. I was riding around yesterday in the higher elevations around 7000FT and the leaves have aleady begun to fall off the trees, around here at 4000Ft they are at peak but it has happened all in the last week! I remember in the deep south fall lasted a good 4 to 6 weeks where the leaves would change soooo slow! not here, its all donein about 2 weeks,3 tops!

I still have a lot of Halloween décor to put up inside and I will finish it this weekend. Glad this is a 3 day week then the weekend comes....Has everyone been keeping up with there high school/ favorite college football teams this fall? My beloved bulldogs are having a pretty good year so far, we play vandy this weekend, and this past week we played Tennessee and won. Man I love this time of year...Now as I drink my pumpkin spice latte I will go check on the kids, they have been very quiet this morning! Have a good morning everyone!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

I know we're all saying it, but I love this time of year, too! It's supposed be really cool this weekend, it's time to close the pool, and Elizabeth is prepping for her Christmas ballet (no Nutcracker this year, sad), and she's practicing with the church choir for the Christmas cantata. Fun!

I'm lighting my first Mulled Cider candle of the season today, too!

My grandson is quite the thinker and is always coming up with the best questions and thoughts. Here is the latest conversation with his mom.

"Hey mom, I know how to see if the tooth fairy is real or not." She asked, "how?" He said, "I'm going to put a tooth under my pillow and not tell you."

LOL!!! Smart kid!!!! Did his mom tell him about the secret sign she has to put out for the tooth fairy to know to stop there. That she just can't sense the teeth under the pillows?

Good morning everyone!

The Pines was fun. Hard to believe we have just welcomed the final month before the beginning of the Christmas Season in November! So exciting! Of course, we will have plenty of sights and maybe a few sounds to get us there.

I am at passport again today. The call never came. At least I have teaching tomorrow.

It is supposed to be a nice fall day with temperatures reaching into the low 20s and mid 60s. Not bad! We will see if it gets there.

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve!

I got the ceiling painted last night, a 2nd coat on the dark wall & 1 coat on the 3 lighter walls. It worked out so nice to work through lunch yesterday & have an extra hour of daylight to paint. I may do the same again today! Our electrician friend was over Tuesday night, last night, says he's coming back tonight. I feel like he has moved in with us! :lol: His family probably thinks he has abandoned them! Not much else going on around here. Like made, we are supposed to have temps in the 80's today, then the bottom falls out over the weekend!

I wanted to mention that we have adopted a new puppy! His name is "buddy" and he is a 4 month old "sausage" dog...I use to have one named "pookie" for 13 years but she passed a way a few years ago, they make the sweetest dogs... so I have 3 now... the bulldog snow ball who is 10 years old now. Kylee who is about 5, and now buddy the little puppy. It takes some getting use to but so far so good! I love dogs and always will have one!

No doubt! I hope the rain holds of for the fall festival. We have the Oktoberfest going on in a neighboring town this weekend....seems like it always rains for the Oktoberfest.
