glad you got a good way home for a visit, I agree much better than the bus !Good afternoon, everyone!
I'm back teaching today. I really don't like those days off! It's been an all right day thus far. Non-stop, really, though.
I hope everyone enjoyed the final Rudolph Day of the year. It's a more seasonal day in Ottawa today. No complaints for that. The snow has all melted in there is very little in our long range forecast, too. I'm sure it will return, eventually!
I purchased my plane ticket home today. I was worried that I would not be able to afford it and have to take the bus home. Thankfully, there was a sale of about $100 for the flight. I ended up paying $233. It's about $50 more than I wanted to spend, but a lot better than I could have spent. The bus would have saved me about $140. Still, I think it might be a little better to not be stuck on an overnight bus for 12 hours. The 4 1/2 hours of travel (including layovers) via plane is just a little better.
Well, I guess I should get to a few things. I have both the gym and hockey tonight. It's going to be a little busy. Hopefully I don't get too tired to skate. Oh, and I hope to still have some energy remaining for the pre-Thanksgiving party at the 'Pines tonight! Merry Christmas!
I really think you should all change your thanksgiving to the same time as ours and avoid all this bad weather ! Hope it clears up so you can travel safely. So much for local weather! We've been having a whiteout for a couple hours, and now forecast says continuing through later tonight! [emoji301]️[emoji300]️ Hope roads are better tomorrow!

Have a GREAT night MMC & a very Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow if I don't make it back on here!!!
Stay safe everyone!!! Safe travels to all who are traveling!! Have a wonderful holiday!!!
sounds perfect ! Enjoy your day and your feast !I will!
Safe and warm is right. It's so good to be in a snug, warm house when the sleet is rattling against the windows. Mr. and I had a late lunch, then he baked some chocolate chip cookies from store-bought dough. As I mentioned, I'm about to start working on the Christmas tree lights, which will make it feel even cozier! Even better, tomorrow's dinner fixin's are safely stowed in the fridge. We have Thanksgiving for just the two of us, so we get sliced turkey and sides from Boston Market and make stuffing and brown-'n'-serve rolls at home. Not fancy, but a feast!
Hoping that everyone has safe travels and delicious dinners tomorrow!
:family:
I'll probably watch the Macy's Parade in the morning and work on Christmas cards. We'll have dinner about three-ish, and may wind up spending the evening screening some 16mm film. There are some particular films we like to kick off the Christmas season with.
we are going to watch the parade too then off to look for a dress for me as I have two Christmas parties to go to this weekend.
My turkey turned out great believe it or not! I am surprised...now for the stuffing to get done...Brandi has to watch that because I am about to leave to go to the airport! wish me luck on the highways yall! Have a great night everyone!
Have a great dinner tomorrow! The main reason I am cooking so much today is that for once I want to enjoy the Macy's parade without getting sidetracked..that is such a tradition going back to childhood,,I still love to see santa at the end!
Well! I got the lights and garland strung on the tree and set it up. I'll decorate it later this weekend. Couldn't believe that it took me nearly 3 hours to string lights on a 4-1/2-foot tree! But I took my time, and it turned out great. Mr. came in to see it, and we just sat on the sofa for a while looking at it. I'll try to get pictures later, when it's decorated. I'll try to get pictures of the piano, too.
That ceramic Santa with the open sack that I bought---I originally intended to take it to work to hold candy canes, but I just can't do it. He was a bit pricey, and I'm afraid of him getting chipped or broken there. I fell in love with him and want to keep him for good. So he'll stay here at home on my piano, and I'll put the candy canes at the office in a big Christmas mug. I'll get a picture of Santa later, too, once I think of something to put in his sack. I already have candy canes on the piano in an Irish crystal biscuit-barrel (cookie jar), and I like the way they look. Maybe I'll get some ribbon candy to put in Santa's sack.
