Christmas Countdown - 2015

Good Morning and Happy Sunday!
Just took a couple of cold pills, hoping they kick in soon. I have a couple of errands to run this morning. I plan on taking it easy this afternoon, hopefully nothing will come up and I'll be able to rest. Didn't sleep well again thanks to the cats and dogs. Maggie was coughing off and on and Molly wanted to go out twice. Then Bentley knocked my alarm clock off of my night table and scared me. And Sophia was sleeping across my neck again. That was cute when she was a few weeks old but she's growing like a weed and is over five pounds now. I wake up and feel like I'm being strangled, lol. I'm ready to lock them all out of my room at night. But I would never do that. Anyway, hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Hope you're starting to feel better and got a better nights sleep last night!

Ahggggg - Ice!!!! I know how you feel about it, I don't like it either. At my company, about a year before I started there, one of their employees, apparently slipped on the ice one morning, getting ready to come into the office, and he passed away like three days later, due to the injuries he suffered to his brain....

That stuff, it's better to just stay inside, until the stuff melts then try to go outside and scape it off your car or try to shovel it or something...

I got to worry about my grandfather, he's a hard head and never listens to me. He insists on throwing salt out on it or cleaning off his car just in case he needs to head out. I've talked to him about not going outside in that stuff until I was blue in the face, but it does no good. He just does it when I leave....What can you do????

Cold and cloudy today. I'm not taking down my outdoor tree lights today after all. A friend of ours is coming over today, so we're leaving them up so he can see them. My indoor decorations are down, but I took a video of our Christmas tree because he wanted to see it. I also brought my ceramic Santa back up and put him on a side table for a little atmosphere. We'll meet our friend at a restaurant for lunch and then come back here to get caught up and watch some movies on the big screen. Just taking a break from straightening up the house to get caught up with you all.

Good Sunday afternoon MMC!! Hope everyone is doing well & staying safe & warm!



I decided to make a chicken in the oven tonight for supper since bad weather is supposedly coming. They are saying 1/10" of ice, possible sleet accumulation & 2-3" of snow. I ran to the store earlier & picked up more chicken breast on sale, so I need to cut the icky stuff off of that again today. (I'm a picky chicken eater...cheesy) Hubby just went to Menards to return some things & to pick up a new snow shovel. I told him he better hurry & get back before the nasty weather starts! xx (shouldn't be a problem)



Anyway, I found a new recipe online for chicken I'm going to try. Hopefully it will be yummy! I'm goign to put some taters & fresh mushrooms on the bottom of the pan. I don't bake whole chickens often at all, so this is an experiment. :smile: Other than that - not much else going on around here today. Just hanging with my girl!! And heading back to read more posts... (I love being able to check in here on the weekend - doesn't happen often) cheesy

Merry Monday!

Hope everyone is well and coping with whatever life is throwing at you.

Strong gales up to 100mph sweeping across Britain these days. Some places got up to 125. I couldn't sleep at all on Friday night - It felt like the house was going to fly away at one point andthe howling sound was unnerving!

I have to do some work which means I will be on the computer. Fingers crossed I don't get distracted with MMC lol!

I arranged to have superbowl sunday of work. Mr festive has booked the Monday off work too so he doesn't have to worry about staying up late. Live coverage begins around 11pm for us. Looking forward to it!

Sounds like a great day! We are watching football and my 12 y/o is all into baking these days so she made some cupcakes and a cake. Not good for my weight loss quest! Lol oh well!

We are supposed to have freezing rain/ice not sure if my girls will have a delay or cancellation or maybe nothing!

I bought a Christmas Vanilla Cookie candle today for only $3. It smells so good....I am going to burn it tomorrow!

Good morning, friends! How are you all doing? I'm well. Yesterday, we had to take the kids to Chuck-e-Cheese for a birthday party in the evening and by the time we got home, I laid down, and that's all it took! The kids must have laid down with me too! DH said they fell asleep with me and he got them to bed. I think I fell asleep around 8. Oh well, I must have needed it!

Anyway, we got some ice here this morning. It's not as bad as what I think they were calling for. DH is already at work and he said the roads seem to be fine. They did put the kids on a delay though. Our district does cover a pretty big area though, so they're probably just being cautious.

Oh xmas, I just love that sleigh!!!!! I adore sleigh ornaments, decorations etc ...anything sleigh themed!!! One day I would like to have a huge sleigh sofa , one that I can bring out every Christmas ....LOL!
