Happy to say today is my day off! I'm going to try and find time to relax, but I also have a lot of cleaning to catch up on, so that will be happening as well. I work a half day tomorrow, and then we're off the entire weekend...SO WONDERFUL. I can't believe how great this is after a solid month of go-go-go and last weekend being a little touch-and-go with the in-laws........

After a very busy year so far, I'm back in the Christmas Spirit.

We moved in our brand new flat at the end of July in a new "village" which belongs to the conurbation of the City Lucerne/Zug. Now we are slowly getting used to the new place. While it is very close to two bigger cities, it is still very green and "out in the Country".

Anyway it is great to be in a place that is so much bigger than the old flat and everything is new and shiny. :) My parents were able to buy the flat (with the help of a early inheritance) and If god is mercyful they never have to move out of it again. There are Elevators in the building and everything is suitable for possible disability.

Don't know how the climate in your Country was so far this year, but we here had one of the hottest summer ever. It didn't quite top the summer of 2003, but it really was close. The average temp was around 96.8° for weeks. Some part of Switzerland had no rain for two month straight.



I don't know what candy corn is, but I really don't like fruit cake. At least if fruit cake is made of tried fruits like raisin.



What is an almanac? In Switzerland there is a very famous group of old men living in a certain part of our Country that are called "Wetterfrösche", they predict the weather according to how the animals behave or how tree and plants look like. My Translation tool says I should translate this word as following: "tree frog as in "means of predicting the weather". Not sure if this is understandable.



Oh my, this sounds frustrating. If you don't mind my asking, with what kind of symptomes was your FIL admitted to the hospital the first time? Does he live alone / far way from relatives? I keep your FIL and your family in my mind.

Kids are home now. Isaac was fine when I picked him up. He is only doing half days so at least it wasn't too long. He had a lot of fun and looking forward to tomorrow! He looks so grown up in his uniform!

I'm having fun with the decorating. It's going slow, but it's going. It will get done!
My youngest just got home. One down, two to go!
Maggie seems to be doing better. She's a little bit stressed from the storms but she's hanging in there. She definitely slept better last night, fingers crossed that it continues!

Love the sound of decorating through a thunderstorm. Must feel cosy! However not fun for Maggie and hope the girls get home safely and the weather isn't disruptive. Maybe you will sleep better tonight with the sound of the rain and as the weather is cooler .

Enjoy the open house! And the rain! We were supposed to have some much needed rain yesterday & only got some sprinkles! I can't believe after the super wet June/July we had that we are in need of rain. LOL! Have a great day!
