Good Morning, and Merry Autumn, MMC! Happy Pines Day as well!

What a wonderful and exciting day today is! I've got work today and church tonight, but tomorrow is a day I took off! So excited to have a day to myself!!! :jump

Hope everyone has an absolutely awesome first day of fall! Can't wait to see you tonight for Pines Day!
Enjoy that day off tomorrow! A day to yourself is a perfect gift now and then. Hoping I will have one on Friday!

Stunning!!! Perfect for Autumn!! I would love something like that!

Thanks Festive! She already started on another one just like it....but sorry to say it's already spoken for! Ha ha! My niece liked mine so much she asked Mom to make her one too! :)

Thanks! I KNOW you know. For long hours, you've definitely got me beat.
Got home about 8:15 last night. Today's Day 10. Hoping that tomorrow, Day 11, will be the last consecutive workday without a day off. Only two of those consecutive workdays have been less than 9 hours ... Come on, Friday! How I wish TODAY were Friday Eve!

(((HUGS)))

OK. Visit the 'Pines at your own risk this evening.
Today is the first day of Autumn and Carl recognizes it. A "harmless little game" is planned called "Don't Fall For It". (I believe the title contains its own warning!)
Regardless, whatever entertainment is to be presented you can rest assured of frantic fun and fantastic frivolity.
I'll take the chance and plan to attend. How about you?
(Let's see ... crash helmet ... knee pads ... elbow pads ... )
Yep, I'll be there!
(Barring late work, of course.)

Festive, was it you who just had to get a new furnace boiler?
Just had our annual furnace tune-up this morning. The boiler is doing fine, but we need a new hot water heating system. Soon, as in the next couple of weeks. Made me think of your "surprise"! But it will be a more efficient system that will reduce costs in the long run.

Seems there is always something, doesn't it!! We just got a new hot water heater a few months ago! Hope it's not too expensive for you!

Bradmac I hope everything went well today. I'm not sure if you have checked in yet. Thoughts and prayers all is went well.
Ditto! Prayers for Brad!

Yes it was me! Our thermostat wasn't working properly so I expected a couple hundred pounds tops for a replacement part. HOWEVER they found a couple other things and the fact that it is old meant that it wasn't worth repairing. Like you mention though, this new one will A LOT more efficient and will lower the bills largely! The shock of the expense though!!! Wasn't expecting it!!

Hope yours is a smooth enough fix. It will definitely be worth it though!

SO true ! There is always something. It always seems to around this time of year as well and everything seems to happen at once. My gutters need repairing after all the rain we have been having! Plus my kettle and toaster both broke!! Ah well ...you just have to laugh it off right!

Good Morning! Interesting and eventful morning that is for me. Coming into the office this morning, I got into a three car accident. One of those chain reaction types, some moron in a silver SUV, was driving like a nut in a SUV and when he changed lanes, (without a single light) the traffic stopped so he had to slam on his brakes. The guy in front of me slammed on his brakes; locked them up, I slammed on my brakes; locked them up, swerved and missed him. The lady behind me slammed on her brakes; locked them up, swerved and missed me. The elderly lady behind her, driving a Hyundai Elantra, must not of have been paying attention and she slammed into the woman behind me; full force at like 45-50 mph, pushed her sideways and forward into my left rear and then the elderly lady hit my right rear. She was shaken up real bad, she got out of her car limping, her car is in awful shape, had to get it towed, she apparently just bought it last Thursday and has liability insurance on it only. The Acura MDX behind me was pretty bad, 4 years old and it had to be towed. My damage to my Toyota Sienna, is to the rear, broken light, bumper, rear door, rear quarter panels; but drive-able.

Well, I'm not upset with anyone involved in the accident, it wasn't intentional, that why they call them accidents!!! However, I would like to put my foot up the rear bumper of the idiot that was driving the silver SUV, who caused all of this mess....
There's the rub ... even when you drive safely, some moron can still get you in an accident. I'm relieved to hear that you're okay. I hope there isn't much hassle getting the Sienna back in shape.

Good morning MMC! Happy 1st Day of Fall! Happy Hump Day! Happy Pines Day! Wow there's going to be a party at the pines tonight!!! :D
Not much going on around here today! It's another gorgeous sunshiny day!! We started out at 50º & going to hit 82º this afternoon! B/C of this, I still don't have my Fall decorations out. After a drive in the convertible, I just don't feel "fall" yet- I'd rather be out cruising around! Ha ha! Maybe at lunch I'll get some more out b/f it gets so warm!
We've been getting cool nights and 70F high temps, and we're expecting a high of 65 on Friday, so we're starting to feel like fall here. They tell us that because of the dry spring and summer here that the foliage may not be very vivid this year. In fact, they say that some trees are rushing to go dormant for the winter because of the lack of water---just shedding their leaves before they change color. I'm sure we'll get SOME color anyway.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I like the idea of milk-graham cracker-cinnamon flavor in a warm beverage.
(The cozy bathrobe on the latte in the picture is cute!)
It does sound very comforting/soothing!
I thought the robe was cute, too!

WOW! I just read some "exciting" news! Wright State University was chosen to host the 1st presidential debate next September. That is the university my brother Mike who passed away was the "Senior University Planner" (architecture) at. Holy Hannah he would be SO proud & excited!! (not that he was a big political man, but... still kinda cool)

That is very exciting! Very cool, friend <3

Thank you! It IS warm & cozy!! I don't have patience to do all single crochet like that...thank goodness mom does!! :)
The sc ripples done in the back loops to give that ribbed effect are VERY cozy, because the "ribbing" helps to trap warm air. It can be tedious to do one in sc like that. My mom usually made her ripple afghans in double crochet, which works up faster but still looks nice.
