Mr. is the same way ... he only drinks tea when he's not feeling well. No sugar, no milk, no honey, no lemon, just straight tea, as though it's medicine. But for me, hot tea with a bit of sugar and milk is comfort food. Coffee, though ... never learned to like it.
My dad always preferred hot Lipton tea, but I can't stand the stuff. I tried some Earl Grey one time (because Capt. Picard likes it!), but it was awful.

I recommend you give coffee another try!

Is it bad that by late Sunday afternoon I already start thinking about how awesome next weekend will be? Lol :)
Nope! ;)

Good Monday morning MMC. It is currently 47 degrees under clear skies in the suburbs of NY. We are expecting a high temperature of a mild 75 degrees today under mostly sunny skies. Today's Columbus Day but unfortunately I only get the big holidays off of work. Nevertheless, I do have a vacation day next Monday so I'll think about a long weekend all week.
It was a busy but fun weekend. Saturday I spent the afternoon with my friend at the park and Sunday about 5 hours all evening with my Uncle. I think that I gained a pound. He had chips, pretzels, nuts, bbq chicken, sausage, hot dogs (although I don't eat those), corn on the cob, cookies and ice cream. Yeah he went all out and invited us to come over again the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. We watched Walking Dead together as that's a show he really got into and so have we the last year or two. Not sure if any of you are into it. Good football this weekend and finally my picks delivered. I went 10-3 against the spread and am leading my work league by 1 game this week. I need the Chargers to win tonight and I'll win $52. It's $34 to join for the season so if you win one week at least you get your money back plus make a little. I'm not greedy so if I win one week this year I'd be happy.
Anyway, off to work I go. With the power of MMC we can all do this Monday thing.
Have a good Monday!

Isn't that's what the work day is for? Catching up on MMC?
Exactly! :p

Merry Monday! Brand new week ahead.

My youngest's birthday is on Wednesday. I can't believe he will be 4!! I guess I need to stop referring to him as the baby.

Feeling somewhat blah today so I am having an easy day just catching up with house work and wrapping my sons birthday presents etc. I hope you are all off to a good start and the rest of the week goes how you want it.

Happy Birthday to your "baby!" Hope you get feeling better! Have a good day!

I haven't had tea this morning yet either!

The PG Tips I buy is one teabag per serving (the pyramid-shaped bags). That's probably the same as your one-cup blend. If I make two servings, I just use two bags---I don't throw in "one for the pot."

Lipton is a major brand over here---probably THE major brand. It's what you see everywhere. Some of the other usual brands are Tetley, Salada, and Red Rose. But nearly everybody sells Lipton.

Mum always brings me Lipton when she visits. I love it. I can get here in the 'world foods' section at one of the supermarkets but it taste different to the one she brings!

I like twinkies but never had a deep fried one. Put that on our list of things to do when I visit you!
Okay! Sounds good :p
Adi & I went to TGI Fridays the other night, and I thought of you! Wished you guys were joining us!

Thank you ♥
xo

Thanks Holiday, her cough has improved a bit. She didn't sleep well last night though. I am beyond exhausted. I'm getting too old for this!
Oh no! Hope you can catch a nap today & Maggie has a better night tonight.

That puppy picture is beautiful! He looks like he's up and ready to go hunting!

Happy Monday to you!
LOL!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

Whatever posting problem I was having last week has vanished as mysteriously as it appeared. Not that I want to look a gift horse in the mouth; I'm just happy it cleared up!

I'm covered in bruises from working with my brother all weekend while under the influence of blood thinner LOL. I should know by now that I can't keep up with the little bro! I'm a little melancholy about selling the engine in the Camaro, even though we can build a nicer one with the profit. It's been a long few years working on it, and we just got it running a few months ago. Still, it would be nice to have more operating capital to finish up some of the other needs. We'll see if the guy who made the offer even returns.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
I'm glad your internet problems went away!!! xx
Good luck making your engine decision!! Have a good day!

Poor mice! You guys probably frightened them ;)
Probably!!!

Thanks! We're just doing things around the house. Heading back to work tomorrow after being spoiled for so many days will be tough!
I bet it will be! Enjoy today!!! :)

Sounds like sabotage to me! ;)
HA!! :p

Lucky girl! It's very windy here, in fact we have a wind advisory. It's dropped way down again, Fall is back =]
We have wind today too - but supposed to hit 77º & so far nothing but sunshine!

Evening all

Just cooking my tea then gonna have an evening of Christmas Movies
Enjoy your evening. Sounds nice!

Now it can be told---we spent Thursday and yesterday in Vermont, and headed back home this morning. We got home about an hour ago. The agency where I work had booked rooms for an offsite meeting at a great inn in Woodstock, but the agency was so busy in August that the offsite had to be canceled, so the agency had the bookings on their hands. They negotiated with the inn to make re-booking the dates flexible, and held a drawing for several two-night stays. I won one, and that's where we've been. (I don't like to tell on a public forum when we will be away ... you never know who might read it and figure out it's a good time to burgle the house.)

The drive up on Thursday was gorgeous and sunny, and the traffic was fairly light once we got out of Massachusetts. Many of the trees are still green, but there were beautiful vistas in New Hampshire and Vermont of hills covered with green, liberally splashed with vivid red and yellow and orange, as though the colors were airbrushed in over the green. I couldn't take photos because I was on the highway! We settled in at the inn in a big, beautiful room (thank you, workplace!) and strolled around Woodstock looking into gift shops and such. We LOVED a general store called Gillingham's ... they had everything from handmade pottery to whoopee cushions to groceries. The inn had tons of attractions and activities nearby, but with only one full day there, we mostly just hung out and relaxed and strolled around and figured out when and where we would eat our next meal! The inn had a lovely "library," a cozy room lined with bookshelves of old books, and with two sofas and a chair facing a coffee table with an undone jigsaw puzzle on it, and a table with backgammon laid out on it, another table with a chessboard laid out on it, and a fireplace. If we'd had more time, I could have spent an afternoon there reading and sipping tea. They also had a nice sunroom where they served tea and cookies in the afternoon, and coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the mornings. A big fireplace in the lobby.

It was dark and rainy all day yesterday, so we just relaxed indoors and read and played some Quiddler. Late yesterday we came back from a short drive and my "check engine" light came on, which made me anxious because I wasn't sure whether we were safe for a three-hour drive home. I called a local dealership that was just closing, and they assured me I would have no trouble as long as the light wasn't blinking. I worried all night and all morning anyway, but the drive home was quick and easy. It was kind of murky in Vermont, but the sun came out while we were on the road, and the sky here at home is a brilliant blue (and there's a frost advisory for tonight, first one of the season). We stopped for some lunch not far from home, and we're just checking e-mails and posts and getting settled back in. Monday my office is closed, so we still have a three-day weekend to spend at home and celebrate. I'm looking forward to getting a good cup of tea! I'm never satisfied with tea away from home.

Thinking of everyone and hoping you get over your sore throats and bugs soon, those who have them. And Sugar, congratulations on the new opportunity!

I wondered if you were finally enjoying that beautiful brief get away. The library sounds great. I've become more of a tea drinker these days and have tried some different blends from David's Tea and grabbed a flyer so I can choose the next one before I get there, otherwise, it takes far too long to make up my mind. I have a cup or two of coffee in the morning, but I find it makes me more jittery than tea so I'm cutting back. I don't need the coffee beans to keep up my momentum, that just happens naturally from my inner TIGGER.
Wish the weather had been a bit better for you.
What a nice way to celebrate your anniversary.

Hello everyone. I'm thinking of you all and hope you're having a great weekend.
MerryCarey, I'm glad you had a good trip. Sounds fun!
We went to a local family farm today that had a pumpkin patch. They have other things too and the kids had a lot of fun. The final event was a hayride where zombies come out if the fields and we had paintball guns to blast them with. It was great!
I hope you all have a good night!

I've been to a few and always enjoy the expressions on children's faces when they're admiring large pumpkins, turkeys and decorations. My granddaughter freaked out over a barking dark one year, but didn't scream at the crazy guy coming out of the bushes with a chainsaw.

Good evening,

Well, I guess I am back in the got to catch up phase again. We went to Six Flags after I got home from work, and I am ready for sleep now. We will be heading out in the morning to go see Hotel Transylvania 2, I wonder why I am always falling asleep now, never a down moment anymore. I've been behind here, so I let the boys decorate the house for Halloween while I was at work, LC pretty much did it all himself. He loves decorating for holidays, I just can not seem to figure out why everyone calls him my Mini-Me. ;)
I hear my pillow calling.

Goodnight, everyone.

Sounds like a great time; and glad to hear you are rubbing off on LC; we need to pass along our festive contagious selves like merry and spooky relay torches; my parents passed on their favourite holidays and traditions to me.
