Christmas Countdown - 2015

I should be in bed, but I have to get caught up here before bed. I don't like falling too far behind.



Looks like we may have another storm coming in for this Sun.-Mon. So I volunteered to work on Sunday just in case I have to miss work if the snow is bad on Monday. Sunday is time and a half anyway, and we could use a little extra dough. So the last tree stays up even longer now. cheesy



All this talk of pizza sounds so yummy, we had crappy grocery store fried chicken for dinner. The boys love it, but it just sits in your stomach like a rock.

But I had a great Santa approved dessert, cookies (Oreos) & milk. Sometimes you just have to have a classic.



I have made it as far as I can for the night.

Good morning! Hope everyone is rested and ready to enjoy even more rest and relaxation if you can over the weekend. I am off work. Yes!

I think I may nip out for a walk to the shops for a few snacks for our movie picnic and for the superbowl tomorrow. It is freezing but dry and the sun is also out.

Days to the Season: 286
Days to Christmas Day: 328

Today's numbers also indicate that we are now down to just 12 days to the 1/4 Season Milestone, number 2 on our marker chart.
(Getting mighty close to single digits!)


Cold weather?
Getting used to it.
(Well, not really. I will never get used to 40's temps coupled with wind like we had yesterday.)
Today should be calm and sunny but still cold.
For now, we have begun this weekend at 26 degrees here in central NC.


Hey! Last day of January. A month I'm happy to be leaving behind, especially this year with all the cold weather.

I don't know what Nancy has planned for me today, but I'm sure she has a plan. :wink:

I'm on the couch with a cup of coffee. It's one of my favorite cups; I got it in the Smoky Mountains at one of my favorite breakfast places in Maggie Valley.

Lulu still isn't feeling very well, but I'm thinking the medicine will take a few days to make a difference. She's asleep on the couch with me.

I have to get Elizabeth up soon to go to dance. It's a lot of work, but she loves ballet. She has a shirt that says "I can't. I have dance." LOL

Then early tomorrow morning the storm will move in and we will get anywhere from 2 to 12 inches depending on who you believe. Nothing to much going on here today. Thanks! She ended up doing well! The doctor said a lot of the kids fail the one at school at this age, usually not understanding what they have to do. She has perfect eyes, for what she needs to be able to see right now!

I have to a minute to break away from the activities at home tonight. The pizza just arrived and it smells great! YUM I am very glad they got 2 large thick crust pies! The boys do not eat pizza so they ate cereal and juice. The couple that is over tonight are expecting their first child in May and we are talking about how times have changed when men were left out of the pregnancy all together from start to finish. Like in the 50's and early 60's they did not usually go to the Dr appts with their spouse and they did not usually do the childbirth classes and during the delivery they usually just sat in the waiting room(if the wife was lucky,( I say lucky b/c my mom tells me her father in south America was getting drunk at a party while my gradma was in labor!!!) He showed up to take her home from the hospital! anyway I was telling the guy over here to enjoy it and not sweat it because it was the most amazing thing I ever went through, It's truly life changing!! OKay well I better get back in the living room we are about to start the movie on pay per view(dishnetwork) called "dear white people" I really don't want to watch that to put it lightly because I think it is very racist even if it is said in jest. But I don't have a say you know the women over here tonight are in control and I just go along and smile!!! Have a great night everyone!!! I may come back on later tonight if the night ends before too late!!

Great advice, Dawg! Watching a baby be born, in my opinion, is one of the greatest gifts you'll get! DH actually got to help deliver our daughter - the emotion on his face was priceless. We'll both never forget that day.

Hi ya folks. We are just getting back from picking Vicki up from school, then we stopped to get dinner at an Italian restaurant and a trip to target to pick up a few things.

Dinner was fantastic, I got this dish that was a plate of spaghetti, topped with three grilled chicken breast, topped with mushrooms and tomato sauce. Add a side order of garlic bread and a cannoli for dessert, I'm feeling very comfortably numb in the recliner.....

I say one thing, wow it's cold out there, wind chill is -6 degrees F at the moment. I stopped and filled up the gas tank and just standing out there for that little bit by the pump was enough for me. I got the fireplace lit and the furnace turned up to 69 degrees.

Well, it's a Friday night and it feels good.. Two days off and if we get a substantial amount of snow on Sunday night into Monday night, it will be three days off for me.

Tomorrow I am going to get up early, drive down to Baltimore County and use their landfill, then stop over in an adjacent town and see a buddy of mine, then visit my grandfather and then come back home and hang out here for the rest of the afternoon/ evening. I'll most likely work in the basement for awhile.

Hope everyone is enjoying their evening so far and I can see that a lot of you had Pizza tonight. Boy, it must be like Italian night tonight....

And speaking of filling up the gas tank, How about those gas prices....I just paid 1.99 for unleaded gas! I haven't seen 1.99 per gallon like, well, it feels like a decade or more....I'm liking that a lot..:hello:
