Well, a welcome respite from the cold was had yesterday and we reached the mid-50's for our afternoon high.

But now we have rain to contend with, and cold weather is scheduled to return shortly.

For now, we awake to 56 very wet degrees here in the capital city, with a light rain falling.

Good morning! I awoke this morning to a good solid inch of slush. ice and snow all over the surfaces. Tried to walk in it and whoops, it's slicker than a greased rail. I'm going to hang inside for a few hours and try to let this stuff melt a bit and then try to tackle the I'm wishing you all well and please be safe.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's rainy and nasty here this morning. Elizabeth saw on the Weather Channel app yesterday that a light snow was predicted here for Thursday night. Now she wants all of us the pray for snow LOL. I know a lot of you guys are tired of it, but snow is a rare occurrence down here. So, a-praying we will go!

Me and my brother worked on the Camaro this weekend. We finally got a set of heads built and installed on the block. He says that, with some effort, we could possibly crank the car this week. Wow! I just don't know if I'll have the spare time to devote to it during the week. We'll see.

Anyone want to come help me dig out? (I'm looking at you xmastidings with your fancy new toy cheesy ) We have close to a foot out there and the windchills are in the negatives. I have to go out and shovel soon, since we didn't set up a plow today. It is coming down harder now than at any point of the day.

I can't figure that out! The heaviest snow was supposed to be over early in the afternoon, but we've had some awfully heavy snow at times throughout the afternoon. We've been waiting for a good opportunity to dig out, and it hasn't come yet. Unofficial reading here is 13.5 inches. National Weather Service says it should wind down around 7 p.m. I hope so!

Good Morning, MMC!!! It's going to be a cold day here with a high of 16. Brr!!!! We got another couple of inches of snow overnight but nothing to bad. So it just took a few minutes to shovel everything out. Not much planned for today. Just dealing with my sick niece. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning MMC! Happy Monday! How is it Monday already?! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I haven't have a chance to catch up on here, but hope whoever wanted to enjoy the super bowl (or commercials) yesterday, was able to do so! Quite a game!



The weathermen sure got our weather wrong this weekend. 8-12" of snow. HA! We had mostly rain. Which froze, so schools were all delayed or cancelled this morning. It's freezing out there....blowing & COLD!! I'm shopping online for swimsuits for vaca...as cold as it is outside, it's hard to imagine wearing a swim suit!!!! LOL We went shopping on Saturday, but there aren't many summer things in the stores yet. AND it was the worst day for shopping - everyone & their brother were out before the "big storm"!



We had Moms bday brunch yesterday. It was very tasty & I think she enjoyed it. Dad came along, after bucking about it all weekend. He thought it was too much hassle to take him out! It all worked out fine.

Good morning Christmas buddies! I am trying to get the boys to eat breakfast. Why is it when you are a toddler or kid you have to be forced to eat? even "good" food? I was not ready for this morning...I heard on my morning radio show that pretty soon Monday after superbowl sunday will soon be a holiday anyways, but I have heard that for years! maybe soon!! I will talk to yall later after they boys get up from a nap!

Well my niece has bronchitis and a sinus infection. So my sister just brought her back in for her to stay again tonight since she can't go to school again tomorrow.

The news here was saying the heaviest was going to be between 7-11am. It was heavier this afternoon, and we are around a foot and it is still falling.

Hey All- I have not been around for a few days...busy with kids activites! I hope you are all having a good day..we are having yet more snow with freezing rain mixed in but now it is back to all snow.

I am thinking the kids may have a delay tommorrow due to icy conditions since it is getting so cold.

Hope you all enjoyed the Superbowl...my hubby is a BIG Pats fan so he was so happy about it.

Good afternoon an Happy Groundhog Day!



I stayed home after himming and hawing for a half hour to go in this morning. I finally decided to be safe and stay home after watching the weather report and hearing them say it was going to get a lot worse, and they have been right. We have at least 8-9 inches out there, and it is still coming down like crazy.



I finally took down the last two Christmas trees this morning, it looks so empty without them. I can't complain though, I had them up until February. Just have to take down the indoor lights and garland and my Santas, then I will be de-Christmassed.



AMC has had A "Groundhog Day" marathon all day, so I have been enjoying that. One of Bill Murray's best.



I hope you all are having a great day thus far.

when it comes to kids you need to pick your battles. He will not starve himself. Present the food, if they eat fine, if not just take it away. It is not worth fighting over, save that for more important things.
Went through the same thing with my daughter, she is still alive and doing well and we had peaceful meal times.
