:whisper: I was hoping to take advantage of some Christmas deals a few times since Boxing Day, but aside from some beautiful festive tissue and cards, I wound up buying baby gifts for a gal at work instead. It's going to be her first child and for some reason I feel like it's my daughter giving birth, perhaps because I've been a mentor for her the last two years. She's getting spoiled well. I picked up a rocking wooden elephant that has a grey plush body along with booty socks, diaper shirts and a hardcover storybook. I'm also hosting my first baby shower ever - been to a bunch, but never organized one.
I went into the local Hallmark store, but hesitated in buying a merry gift for myself as they didn't have very many Rudolph ornies left on display.
I don't usually get down after Christmas or any time of the year, but seeing the signs that the Christmas season is behind us popping up everywhere is hard to handle.
:hello: I guess I'm worried that people won't keep that merry feeling alive throughout the year the way we all try by visiting here and planning for next year.
I can only control my actions so I'll be keeping a merry thought in my head no matter what date it says on the calendar.

One way I keep the post Christmas blues away is by making up songs in the shower. I often turn well known songs into Christmas tunes by changing the lyrics.
Here's one from about 5 years ago.

Santa’s On His Sleigh composed by Auntie Mistletoe based on the lyrics and tune of “I’m Leaving on a Jet Plane’ (as performed by Janis Joplin, John Denver and others)
The sleigh is loaded he’s ready to soar
Down the chimney he comes
Or by way of my front door
I can hardly wait to discover my surprise
Reindeer pausing on my roof
I hear Santa munching his treat
Stuffing my stocking
Listening to my festive music, tapping his feet
I’m trying so hard to shut my eyes
*Chorus: Santa’s sleigh is flying high
Meeting up with Santa Trackers in the sky
Norad is also there to keep him safe
‘cause Santa’s coming, it’s Christmas Eve
I can’t understand why you don’t believe
Santa’s real and the elves are too
There’s a place called the North Pole
I know it’s true ’cause I’ve been to school
You must feel the magic in you
Everywhere I go, I hear Santa’s cool
Every card I write, spreads glad tidings
When Christmas is gone,
I begin to feel so blue
Santa’s sleigh is flying high
Meeting up with Santa Trackers in the sky
Norad is also there to keep him safe
‘cause Santa’s coming,
It’s Christmas Eve
I can’t understand why you don’t believe
Santa’s real and the elves are too
Now the time has come, it’s Christmas morn
Mrs. Claus is waiting
For Santa’s returning sleigh horn
A sweet Mistletoe kiss they share
The reindeer frolic merrily
Families race to their decorated trees
Others go to Church, to recall
That first Christmas Day
Santa’s sleigh is flying high
Meeting up with Santa Trackers in the sky
Norad is also there to keep him safe
‘cause Santa’s coming,
It’s Christmas Eve
I can’t understand why you don’t believe
Santa’s real and the elves are too
Families race to their decorated trees
Others go to Church, to recall
That first Christmas Day
That first Christmas Day

That's how I keep merry thoughts in my head and annoy my husband and the cat when I'm singing in the shower.
Good morning Sunday
Coffee is ready![emoji477]️
Im enjoying it in front of the Christmas tree[emoji173]️
Snowing heavy today also..
Tomorrows school starts again
and the Christmas vacation is over.
I still feel Christmassy, and feel the whole week of Dec 22-29 is a blur because Isac was sick.
So Christmas in our house is not over until I say so [emoji173]️[emoji319]

Morning all. Breakfast done and its onto the sorry job of packing away the Christmas items and taking out the tree
Rainy yesterday but not cold.
(Seems like we just cannot get a combination of dry and warm!)
Today has commenced at 62 damp degrees here with the promise of 70 + by this afternoon!
(No. It won't last. Just one day, then back to the refrigerator.)
Hey. My Panthers won yesterday!
(Can they make a run of it??)
Have a Super Sunday, Everybody!
Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!
Like Crown's weather, we're wet and warm down here. It'll be around 70° through Wednesday, but then it's supposed to clear up and cool down to the 60's for a while.
We went to the movies Friday night & saw Night at the Museum. It was pretty good, but distracting because I knew that Robin Williams was gone. It had some pretty funny parts, though. And the kid who plays Larry's 18 year old son is the kid who played young Moe in the Three Stooges movie, so I enjoyed that. LOL
After working all morning yesterday, we went to visit Nancy's mom in the hospital (she's still improving), then we went out to scout for a new couch & loveseat. We got the goody out of ours long ago.
I found the coolest couch! It has touch buttons on the armrest that make it recline, move the headrest and turn on blue LED lights in the cupholders on the armrest. The center section opens to reveal more cupholders, reading lights and a charging station for laptops/cell phones. COOL!!!
Alas, Nancy says no. We'll see.
Today, Nancy's going back to see her mom, and the kids & I are spending the afternoon with my mom.
I hope y'all have a great day!
Thank you, buddy.
I got 9 hours! Slept straight through.
Thank you for the prayers.
Hope you slept well~

Maybe this has already been posted and discussed but I haven't kept up on here to well.
This guy is my new hero!!! I am going to follow in his footsteps. Time to put the tree back up!!! Take that quitters!!!
Snow-in-Texas and I did some running around yesterday with Christmas music playing in the car. We are still enjoying it! We came home and took down the outdoor decorations but still have some lights and other decorations up inside the house so it still looks festive. No blues for us yet and hopefully it doesn't set in!
Hoping the Cowboys win today - so excited they are having a great year!
Good morning, dear friends~
Stay warm today!
We dropped 30 degrees overnight! Sitting at 0.
And we got a few inches of snow.
Wishing you a blessed day with your loved ones [emoji173]️

He is doing a lot better. Thanks for asking!
I worried about getting post-Christmas blues again this year, but, honestly, with Nancy's mom in the hospital since Thanksgiving, I feel like we shot right past Christmas and into the next Countdown.
I not only missed the commercial aspect of Christmas that I love, I'm ashamed to admit that, aside from prayers for Mrs. Hilda's health, I mostly overlooked the celebration of the birth of Jesus.
Between trips to the hospital, then my bronchitis and my mom's flu, Christmas sort of passed right by this year. I still have to take the tree down, but we don't have much more decorations besides that up around the house.
So, even though I missed it this year, at least I'm not dealing with the PCBs. I just need to start planning Christmas 2015!
The 'Bers start in, what, just 9 months?!

I hope Issac is doing better, Solice!!!!!
That is the perfect attitude to have!!!
I hope the PCB's don't hit you to bad, Tis the season!!!
Congrat's to your Panthers!!
Enjoy the warmer temps and have a great day, Crown!!!!
That couch sounds awesome!!!! I hope you can convince Nancy!!!
Continuing to Pray for Mrs. Hilda. I'm glad to hear that she is still improving.
Have a great day, Brad!!!!
Glad you slept hard, Buddy!!!! I know you needed it!!!
I slept pretty good too. Can't say it was straight through but better than normal for me.
xx
I love those commercials too!!!!! He is my hero too!!!
Good Luck to your Cowboys!!! Glad to hear that you guys are still celebrating and that there is no sign of the PCB's!!!
Good Morning Again, Buddy!!!!!! I hope you stay warm too!!! I hope you can relax and take it easy today!!!
That is good to hear!!! Hope he continues to improve!!!
It was kind of the same way here. Just so much going on that it just didn't feel like the season.
Christmas in July will be here even sooner than that!!!!!
Good Luck with the Baby Shower!!!!! I'm sure you will do a great job with it!!!
I wish it was as easy for everyone to keep the spirit like us as well!! We just need the whole world to join MMC!!! (Can you imagine what the countdown would look like then?)
Have a great day, Auntie!!!!!!

Good Morning, MMC!!! It's going to be a cold day here with snow showers off and on. Doesn't look like we will see much accumulation today but that will change tomorrow afternoon into Tuesday morning. It's looking like we will see around 5 inches then. Yuck!!! I was hoping for an entire season of not having to shovel!!! At least there will be no hurry to it since I don't have to worry about mom going to work. Not to much going on here today. Just going to watch the Colts play and do some cleaning if I get the motivation. If not, well it can wait until later. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning.
The second half of the first weekend in 2015 (for lack of anything better to say).
Or perhaps this is better:
Days to the Season: 313
Days to Christmas Day: 355
Or better yet, consider that in under 2 weeks now, we will step over the 300-Day Window threshold to the Season and find ourselves already down into the 200's!

that is so beautiful, you did a wonderful job on this ! I love it.We took some fresh flowers & plants home from Dorothy's services this weekend.
One of my favorites is a winter arrangement of roses, mini carnations, evergreen, and ivy. It also has some silver wood accents. In the center, there's a church in snow filled woods, with the windows illuminated.
Dorothy & I shared a love of old churches, Christmas and our faith. I was so happy when my sister-in-law insisted I take it. She is the best. The church will be a beautiful remembrance. Here are some photos of it.
