Christmas Countdown - 2015

Like most of you, it's back to the daily grind for me today. At least it's a nice day, but getting colder by the hour. Maybe a little snow tomorrow, and supposed to be even colder.

The indoor decorations are down, but the lights on the tree outdoors will brighten up the neighborhood until some weekend when the weather is decent enough to let me take them down.

Except for a few brief attacks, I'm dodging the PCBs fairly well. I have Kringle Radio and some Christmas music in reserve in case I need to relieve withdrawal symptoms ...

That's what we call them here in the Midwest, just a skinny pine tree, with pinecones and berries on them, usually.

I like that, no, I really like that a lot!!! I can totally see myself getting something exactly just like that, something, that I can keep up all year, that reminds me of a little Christmas, but yet, does not exactly look like a traditional Christmas Tree.

I'm still listening to Kringle radio here at the office, drive to and from work listening to my Christmas CD's and early in the morning, before anyone else is up yet, I turn on Christmas music still playing on Direct TV. I can feel the tug of the PCB on my shirt tail, but I'm not turning around to face it; keeping my back to it and trudging on thru January~:-D

would love to see a picture of that, sounds like a really nice display, a wonderful way to remember them.

That my friend, is a fantastic thought! I'll do that~ I have just one more shelf that I want to build and on it, I found a bunch of old mason jars, from back in the days and I was thinking about setting them up on it. I found an old cross-cut saw that my great-great grandfather used to own, in one of my grandfathers old out buildings and I hung that up on the wall last night.

I have my Great grandmothers old sewing machine now, the kind that you would have to use a manual foot peddle in order to make it work. In the drawers (4 of them), it still contained all of her buttons, spare thread, needles, pieces of lace and all kinds of neat little things from back in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Up in the attic, there was an old box, and in it, I found an old china (with a light blue pattern), wash basin, pitcher and 2 small assorted little bowls. I'm going to set them on the sewing machine.

I also found some Baseball cards from 1931, metal cowboys and Indians figures, and stuff like that. I'm going to frame the baseball cards, it has (2) Lou Gehrigs in it.....

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

Back to the desk this morning, with dozens of emails and voicemails waiting to be answered. To tell you the truth, I'm ready to get back to some business as usual. Bring it on!

Nancy still hasn't budged on the super-cool couch, so I'll probably have to settle for the semi-cool couch. It doesn't have LED lights and laptop charging stations with USB ports, but it still has electric recline. :-D

Good morning gang!! Happy Monday!!! Back to the grind. We have to work FIVE days this week. Yikes!!! I think I can, I think I can...

I'm feeling a little out of the loop around here, so maybe I'll have some time to catch up today! xx

I went to leave for work this morning ~ dead battery in the car. Go figure! Thankfully our battery charger had enough charge left in it to start the car...after my hubby walked me though how to do it over the phone. :lol:

We have a winter storm warning in effect from tonight through tomorrow morning. They are saying 4-6" of snow possible. xx Make it enough that we get a snow day tomorrow please. Ha ha ha!! It is FREEEZING, bitter cold today!!!

Before spring comes and the windows are open, I should digitize some more of our Christmas LPs and cassettes to feed my iTunes Christmas library.

My decs are all still up too. I was thinking about starting to take them down tonight, but I'm still enjoying them. AND since we are supposed to get the 1st snow of the season tonight ~ I'm thinking they won't be coming down today!

Thanks! I'm safe, but it's getting harder to stay warm! We have a few hot-blooded folks in our part of the building who keep the heat mighty low. It was fine earlier, but now I feel cold air creeping up from the floor, so somebody's dialed the thermostat down. I have a small space heater, but sometimes that doesn't cut it. :cold:

LOL!!!!! Most of the chargers now of days will sound an alarm if you hook them up wrong instead of letting the magic smoke out of all of the electronic components in your car.

Good Morning from the frigid tundra of Central Indy!!!!! It's going to be a chilly one today with a high of 17 degree's. Tight now it's 5 degrees but only feels like -13. Brrr!!!! It looks like we are on track to get 4 to 6 inches of snow tonight. At least it's going to be light and fluffy they say. Of course, that means it's going to blow and drift everywhere and my shoveling efforts will be mostly in vain. Not to much going on today. I need to run to the grocery to get a few last minute supplies so I can stay holed up the rest of the week. I also need to run by the bank. I will probably wait until later this afternoon to go since they say the roads are pretty slick right now. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!
