Christmas Countdown - 2015

The temps weren't as bad as some of you this morning: -2F when I left for work. Too cold to suit me! At least we aren't expecting much snow---maybe a coating overnight and a couple of snow showers tomorrow.



I'm already looking forward to the weekend. Except for Monday, the first day back after New Year's, the workdays have been 9+ hours, and next week is shaping up to be a busy one. I'm glad the business is doing well, but it cuts into my leisure time. I got so spoiled over the holidays! cheesy

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!! It's just downright frigid here this morning. We have made it up to -4 but the windchill is still -30. Holy cow!!! I went out to start mom's car and let it run for a few minutes and even with being all bundled up, I still couldn't fill my fingers and toes when I came back in. Not a lot going on for me today. I'm still feeling pretty fun down. So just going to try and get some more rest. I'll also keep the laundry going to help keep it warm in here. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

 

[Holiday]

Happy Hump day everyone! I am just settling into work, looks like a slow day. Today is my son's 3rd birthday. Can't believe it's been 3 years already, we had his party over the weekend because we knew we'd both be working. I hope everyone is keeping warm, on the east coast and upper Midwest and even the south the temps are brutal! We are warmer but still seasonal I guess, a lot of our snow is melting but we still have an inch or two in the backyard! keep warm everyone and I will talk to yall soon!

Hope your son had a great birthday!! And I hope your snow is replenished soon!!

BTW I took down the yard Christmas décor but I still have the tree and all the inside lights up... around here I noticed a lot of folks do the same thing, it's just too dark in the winter without those pretty lights! Brandi leaves them on for me in at night when I come home at 1130 and they make me mellow out...I guess I will take them down sometime in Feb! Good night everyone! stay warm! it's a humid 40F right now here...almost summer like!

Whoa....it's cold outside. I got 12 degrees here right now (not counting the wind chill). We are still getting some of those snow squalls, enough where it is covering the cars and road. We did venture out though, took the new Rave 4 out (AWD) and went to the grocery store and then we stopped at Michaels. Where I do say, I did pretty good by getting 8 boxes of Christmas cards for 80% off list price; nice.....I'm all set for next years Christmas card exchange.

Merry Morning all.

I am getting ready for the school run and then it's back to some work. I also need to catch up with some house work today too. I still have some decorations to come down and want to get it down before the weekend.

I have to say I look forward to the mornings getting lighter. These days the dark and cold doesn't motivate much at all lol. It's already getting lighter with the shortest day behind us. Day breaks about 8:20 and dark falls about 4 which is little better than a couple weeks ago!

It's freezing out and my house is uncomfortably cold. Not sure what the problem is, maybe the heat just can't keep up. It stinks. Anyway, I don't have a lot of time. I have work in a little while and I have a lot to do before I leave. My daughter has an appointment at the oral surgeon later today for an evaluation on those wisdom teeth. I'll pop back in when I get a chance. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day. Stay warm!!!

I has warmed up here, only a windchill of -25c (-13f) this morning. We did get a large amount of snow overnight.

Work today til 4, hoping we get more people in the store so the time goes faster.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was just under 20° this morning, and windy. Very a-typical for this area, for sure! I was out late last night filling to pool to a level high enough to run so the pump would freeze and get damaged. I didn't realize the water level had dropped. I hope I don't have a leak! If I do, it's very small.

Nancy stayed at the hospital last night with her mom, so I didn't get much sleep. but, she'll be home in a few hours, so I can sleep tonight.

We have a high of 38° here today, then a warming trend back up to the mid-50's by Sunday. That's better!

I hope y'all have a great day!

Hope there isn't a leak in the pool!!! Praying that Mrs. Hilda is continuing to do better. Have a good day, Brad!!!!

Good morning MMC! Can you say BRRRRRRRRRR! My car said MINUS 8º this morning on my way to work. Wind chill nearly -30! School is cancelled ~ shouldn't work be cancelled too??? Hmmmm!!!

After I got home from Mom/Dads yesterday I never left home again. It was just wicked outside!!! I made a new recipe for Cheddar Bread - it was ok. Hubby & I had a glass of Brown County Plum wine. It was pretty tasty ~ not my favorite, but it was pretty good. Lol! I tried to watch The Thanksgiving House, but friends were busy texting & I missed much of it! I'll have to watch again. I have seen bits & pieces before but never the whole thing.

Anyway....I'm going back to reading posts. You all have a marvelous day. Stay warm!

Brrrrrrrr.... 6 degrees F (base temperature) in Central Maryland this morning, I about froze nubs off, and that was getting out of the bed. I can't put it into words, just how painful it was to come out from under those nice warm covers this morning....It has got to be one of the coldest temperatures that we have seen in a long while around here.

School was on a two hour delay this morning. It was 10 degrees in the car. DH built the first fire of the season in our wood stove last night. DH & I wore layers today to work & school. I hope DH stays warm too, I didn't see what he put on this morning, but he does have a heavy work coat if he has to work out of the office. It's not supposed to get above freezing until Saturday afternoon.

DH will take DD to drum lessons tonight, so I'll have about an hour to get things done at home alone.

I saw a recipe for that in Taste of Home magazine this morning. It looked pretty good to me, but I've never baked bread in my life. I want to give it a try.

I am getting sad about tomorrow, it is the last night I light my outdoor display. Tuesday will probably be my day to start un-decorating.

Very loooooooonnnnnnnng day at work, I swear the clock was moving backwards time was moving so slowly.
When I got home, my wife and kids surprised me with a plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies with a candle in it for my birthday. It was a great surprise and they were quite yummy.

I am watching a hockey game, Bruins vs Penguins, my 2 favorite NHL teams.

I am exhausted, this working thing is tough after nearly two full weeks off.
