Christmas Countdown - 2015

I'm moping ... office closed at 1 p.m., but I'm still here with several others waiting for work. I'll also be working Monday---the third holiday in a row that I have worked. To be fair, I will probably get a day off later to compensate, but it still annoys me that a couple of us have had to work three of four holidays so far this year.

That stinks...sorry...

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

Mrs. Hilda is scheduled to be released one week from today! I'm looking forward to that, and I KNOW she is. We'll take her to rehab (or maybe arrange in-home rehab), but she's too homesick to stay any longer. It's been over two months! Plus, tomorrow night is the last night that Nancy will be staying with her. I'll be glad to have my wife back home to stay.

Going to lunch with mom and my brother soon.

Well I am about to take the boys to a Dr's apt then go buy my wife her valentines present, btw I heard on the radio yesterday that 86% of men get the wrong gift for their s/o on valentines day, so I have listened hard all year and I know I am getting what she likes! I am about to get ready for my Friday at work! I hope everyone has a great afternoon! I just found out I am working as well Monday! I use to work most every holiday for at least the first 10 years on the job, it really was not until about 5 years ago I was able to start taking the week of Christmas off. I ended up this year and most years taking a week in the summer and 4 weeks at Christmas, this year I get another week of vacation so I can take a week off at thanksgiving or Halloween (ihave not made up my mind yet) but I am leaning towards Halloween because I don't mind working the day after thanksgiving, or the day before. Anyways don't know why I got on that, but hope everyone has a safe and warm drive home! It's still suppose to snow here sunday! yippee!

My brother was too sick to have lunch with us today. He has a doctor's appointment this afternoon.

Anyway, I went by his shop to drop off a sandwich for him, and he showed me the work he's been getting done on the Camaro. We put the heads on the block last week, and he's put the intake on and the huge Holley 750 carburetor. We have some awesome Edelbrock valve covers on it, and billet aluminum belt pulleys. We also have an aluminum radiator/electric fan setup. I gotta buy some lifters, and maybe a chrome alternator. So it's starting to be fancy looking (like it was before we really got started!). We're just about ready to crank it, even if it's not close to drivable yet.

Yesterday was a day of two parts, weather wise.

In the morning and early afternoon, it was relatively warm, sunny and calm.

I got some outdoor work done.

By mid afternoon, the clouds moved in, the wind picked up and the temps dropped fast. It was below freezing by mid-evening.

This morning?

Well, it's 25 degrees here, with lows the next few days in the mid-upper teens.

BRRRRRR!!





Regardless of the weather, however, it IS Weekend Eve and that just about guarantees a Fabulous Friday, right?

Good morning everyone. I have anxiety this morning, my daughter is going to visit her best friend for the weekend, she goes to college in Washington DC. My husband and I have to drive her in to the city and then she'll take a bus the rest of the way. We'll put her on the bus, it goes straight to DC and her friend will get her off the bus. Everything should be fine but I'm still a nervous wreck. I'll pop back in later at some point. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!
