Good morning everyone!

Still dealing with muscle aches from that crazy workout the other night but still manage to get up every am and go speed walking. I just hope I'll be back to my normal self by Monday, I can't start a long awaited vacation with my kids in pain. Any hoo...last evening my dog Buttercup was attacked by another dog as my kids and I were taking her for her evening walk. We had her leashed of course and this dog was purposely let out by the home owners 7yr old son, while they were sitting on their front porch. The screams that came from me while trying to protect my dog (who btw is a Pit Bull and reminded mummy she needs no protecting) were heard by my next door neighbor who came running to assist my kids and I. London was holding onto Buttercups leash while I had her collar with one hand while trying to pry them apart with my other but all the while not looking down to see what was going on. Finally, the owners of the dog Amber came to try to get the two of them apart and finally were able to. I was so upset I didn't want to look to see if Buttercup was hurt cuz if so I would have lost it. Well, come to find out it was the dog who attacked her who was in need of rescuing as I was told later by my neighbor who came running that Cup had Amber by the throat and was locked on her. My hand was bleeding as I had been cut trying to pry their mouths apart. Oh it was a mess. My neighbor and one of the owners of Amber walked us all home. Once we got back inside Buttercup who wasn't phased in the least was looking in her food dish for more dinner as if she had worked up an appetite. And she stuck to me like glue for the rest of the night.

My walking buddy thinks that I should file a report with animal control since this was apparently not Amber's first time attacking another dog on our street. She's attacked my neighbor's dog Hershey three times, each time while Hershey was on her own property. I may just look into it since this dog is proving herself to be very aggressive. Most would think it would be my dog who is the more aggressive one but she walks by other dogs while being walked and gets excited but nothing over the top. She never even pay Hershey no mind (I think she senses Hersh is getting along in years and feels bad for her).

I'm soooo ready for vacation!

Good morning, Ladybugkisses! I'm so very sorry to hear this has happened to you and Buttercup. I must say I have to agree with your neighbor. I would probably look into the same thing. It sounds like this poor dog needs help and nobody would want the dog hurting anyone else or any other animals. Praying Buttercup is okay.

Thanks sugar! When is Ella's surgery? Is that tomorrow, or next week? Prayers for you all!

Welcome! Thanks for asking - it's next Friday, which works out well actually, because I'll have the weekend off with her and I can watch her more closely. She sometimes likes to be petted really deeply and when I was doing that with her last night, I was checking one of spots last night she's had for a while, it seemed to really be bothering her too - it's on the opposite side of her abdomen. I told DH whenever he takes her up there that morning (I'll still be at work), he needs to make sure the vet checks her really well, to make sure there are no more that he thinks he needs to remove, while he has her under.

Our grandsons went to see the Texas Rangers game last night with their basketball team. We were worried about them being in that heat since they arrived there at the hottest part of the day, around 5 pm, it was over 100 degrees at that time. It was 95 degrees at 10 pm last night! They are here now and said they had fun and managed to stay cool! Was glad to hear that! Rangers won too! Yay!

I hope you all have a Merry Day!
Glad that they stayed cool and had fun! :)

If Amber was at a dog park, the aggressive behavior would have her removed from the group. I understand the panic as I experienced with my cat (the first O'Malley) he was torn apart by a German Shepherd when I was only 7or 8 years old. What bothered me most was that it was a friend of the owner who tried to help me save my cat while the dog's owner sat on a swing ignoring the situation. We filed a report and a police officer came and picked me up and had me point out the house where the dog lived. They received 2 fines, 1 for not having the dog leashed and another for not having it under their control. It bothers me that Amber attacked another dog on its own property. If their dog was injured by yours, they would file a complaint even though your dog was on a leash.

Oh AMD - I feel so bad you had to witness this so young! (((hugs)))

You love Buttercup and you guys are the responsible ones. So many people just let their dogs run loose and not only are they putting other dogs and people in danger, but they're putting their own pet in danger as well! Just like you said about the people with the Chow Chow's! We have a neighbor back home that lets their dog run loose and has gotten hit by a car twice now. You would think they would love their dog enough to not let the dog run loose anymore, but no… It's just a matter of time before it happens again. It's so sad.

Harlowe was attacked by a pack of loose dogs when we lived in Las Vegas. And she's never been the same towards other dogs since. That really angers me, why shouldn't we be able to walk down the street without having to worry about things like this ❤️
Glad that you're all OK! Hugs to you and Buttercup!

That's so sad - no dog should ever have to deal with that. :( (((hugs)))

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve!!! We have a cloudy morning with a high predicted of 72º! Hopefully the rain stays away! We sure don't need it right now!
Last night we grilled steaks outside & had corn on the cob - ate on the patio & enjoyed part of a growler from our local brew barn! It was nice! I started making lasagna for my 2 nieces baby showers this weekend. They are both expecting their 3rd child so our niece is hosting a "diapers & dinners" baby shower. We are supposed to bring either a pack of diapers or a frozen dinner they can heat up quickly. But of course us aunts are brining both. Lol! After work I'll simmer the sauce & cook the noodles, put them together & get them in the freezer! :)
My hubby left a little before 8:00 this morning for a salmon fishing trip in Michigan. He was pretty excited. Gracie was not too thrilled about him leaving her. Ha ha! I think he's going to miss Gracie more than his me! :p (that's ok!) Gracie & I will head to the lake for "girls weekend"! :D

Have a Fabulous Friday Eve everyone!!!!

Rain, rain, stay away!!
Dinner & the growler on the patio sounds great! ;)
Congrats to both of your nieces! I've never heard of a "Diapers & Dinners" party before, love it! How clever!!
Hope that Jim has a wonderful time on his fishing trip in Michigan!
You & Gracie will have a fun girl's weekend at the lake! <3
Have an awesome day!

xx

I'm with you, Holiday. I'm not through with summer yet. Today is sunny, low 80s, low humidity ... if it's possible, I'm going to take my lunch outside and eat under a tree today. I've been doing that when it's not too hot outside and when urgent jobs don't intervene.

I hope you are able to enjoy lunch under the tree. Sounds like a nice break from the stress of the day. Fingers crossed for you! xx

I'll be praying for her (and you) all week! You are right, if there is more to be looked at, get it all while they have her under. The poor sweet baby. I'm sure it's a relief to you knowing you will be able to be home with her over the weekend! Praying all goes very well! xx
