Another day down,one more before my next day off. Sunday we have my family reunion to go to, the 134th annual, so we get to see a lot of family we haven't seen since my grandmother passed away last August. I am 5 working days until vacation, this one I am taking just to use up my remaining days for this year. I can't wait, but I was just on vacation not even 3 weeks ago so it doesn't hold the same excitement as the other one I had anticipated for months for, but it is a week away from the fun-house, that's all that matters.
We went to Friendly's for sundaes after dinner, and I was paying with a card, and the waitress asked for my ID, I showed her and she said "Oh my." She said "do you remember me?"
I said no.
She said she was so and so.
I said oh my god.
I had grown up with her as a child, our families use to vacation together. She still has pictures of us as kids. I could not believe it. Such a small world.
I hope you all had a great day.

When my mom turned 70, she and my dad had celebrated her birthday in Florida when they spent three months in a warmer climate without snow so my mom could navigate with a bit more ease after she broke her hip from a fall.
I was just over there yesterday for a visit and she's feeling a bit lonely these days. So many of parents friends don't visit as much as they used to because my mom has had some health issues; she'll be 75 in March. I admit she looks frail, but she still has her charm and wit.
Whenever I run into mutual friends, I let them know she's very much up to receiving visitors. Wishing your mom good health!

And a lot of visitors, we are six kids and we have giving her (and Dad) 18 grandchildren!
I bought her (and Dad) tickets to a Christmas Consert in December ♥
And we are all taking them out to eat at the end of November♥
It's so good to have something to look forward to!

I finished with the lawn yesterday, just in time to shower, eat, and catch the debate.

Today is the weekly lunch my brother and I have with our mom, so I'm looking forward to that. We haven't had a chance to do this in a few weeks. This is the last Friday that the kids will be out of school, so I'll be missing that soon, too. Time flies!

The very first signs of fall are all around us. A few leaves on some of the trees are turning light red on their way to being the color of Rudolph's nose on Christmas Eve. The fall decor is blooming in the stores like Christmas will be in less than a month (and in some cases already is!). My excitement is growing like the Christmas trees in the farm just waiting to be cut and put up in someone's home. And our countdown is shrinking like the temperatures will be in just a few months.

How do I count thee, Christmas?
-Yesterday, it was 20 weeks to Christmas Day! This means we are in the TEENS in that Countdown now.
-Our numbers stand as follows:
Days to the Season: 97
Days to Christmas Day: 139
-Our next milestone is just 6 days away...the 3/4 mark to the season!

And, most importantly, our favorite countdown counter Crown84 is coming home from vacation TODAY! It's been an honor to serve as a countdown elf while he's been away. Thanks for allowing me the privilege!

I love when that happens. I ran into a few children I worked with eons ago over the last few months and a few pals from my youth and it brings back fond memories. We haven't had a huge family reunion since I got married; some smaller gatherings for funerals and such. When I was growing up, we'd have reunions every two years. Seems like when my uncle sold his cottage home we had fewer choices as to where we'd hold such a large gathering. Hope you enjoying catching up with each other.

Well, it was a tad chilly here this morning, I love it when the nights are cool and it warms up in the afternoon.

My holidays are coming to a close.

I have 2 long weekends to look forward to, but other than that, I haven't booked any time off until the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.
I get 25 vacation days, plus STATS so I enjoy spreading out my vacation time to last the year with plenty of breaks.

I'm happy to report that this vacation afforded me the opportunity to be very active here at MMC with minimal activity on FB.
Not sure where the evenings will take me in the coming weeks, but I trust that I'll be swinging by this merry way more regularly as we climb that merry ladder awaiting the arrival of another Christmas.

Good Saturday morning MMC!

I've been dreading this day all week because of all the cleaning I'll be doing. Not in my home but the home of my neighbor's. I clean her home once a month while she and her husband
are at their beach house for the weekend. I also clean her elderly father's home too and even though his home is larger than hers its easier to clean. Once I'm done with cleaning I plan to make a dinner of salmon cakes, mashed potatoes and asparagus for the girls and I. I also have to make a side dish for the farewell dinner our church is holding tomorrow for two congregation families who are relocating. While I want to attend I'm sort of regretting signing up for go with a everything we have to do before our morning flight out Monday to Florida. But I'm a woman who stands by her commitments, if I've said yes then I'm gonna do my best to keep my word.

It's going to be mostly cloudy today but the showers are going to stay south of us so I'm happy about that. I'm heading out soon to get my food shopping over with. Not too much else going on here today. My husband and the girls all have to work for a few hours so I may do some shopping this afternoon. I have primitive pumpkins out year round, and harvest prints too. I've ordered some decorations, and as they come in a lot of them are going up. Just because I'm too excited not to!
